John Cena set to host new reality TV show: American Grit

When it was announced that John Cena would be taking some time off from WWE, some rejoiced while others were bummed. The question remained why? Was it an injury? Exhaustion? Personal issues?

Well now thanks to a tweet from the man himself we have the answer. “This just in I’m honored to host the new reality competition series #AmericanGrit – guiding 16 men & women as we work together to face a variety of military and survival-themed challenges. Coming soon to FOX!”

This is some exciting news. Cena has always showed his love and respect for the military so em announcement like this hardly comes as a surprise.

It’ll be interesting to see how the show plays out and if the show can do well based on just Cena’s star power alone, more over if the WWE will gain a new audience because of the show. Either way it’s a smart business move.

BREAKING NEWS: The Undertaker To Face John Cena at WrestleMania 32?

The Undertaker & John Cena may face off as a main event for WrestleMania 32, WrestlingInc.com reported. The last time Cena and The Undertaker battled in a singles match at a pay-per-view event was in 2003.

Citing a report from PWInsider.com, Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com wrote the two Superstars are—at least for the time being—options for one of the main events of the biggest show of the year.

According to Middleton, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer also questioned whether a WWE source was trying to throw him off the scent when telling him Cena and The Undertaker have other angles lined up for WrestleMania. Meltzer labeled the tip a possible “red herring.”

First, Randy Orton suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out for months. Then, Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus, thus ruling him out for WrestleMania as well. Those are two potential headliners out of the equation, leaving WWE scrambling to find alternatives.

Cena currently remains off for an extended break as well, but is advertised for a live event on Dec. 26 at Madison Square Garden. Depending on when or if he chooses to avenge his United States Championship defeat to Alberto Del Rio, Cena would be open for a major WrestleMania storyline.

Austin’s Thought’s On Cena’s Springboard Stunner

John Cena has started using a Springboard Stunner that he first used in his match against Rusev at WrestleMania 31. Steve Austin is known for his Stone Cold Stunner, which led fans to ask how he feels about Cena’s stunner. The following is what Austin said about it on his Steve Austin Show podcast:

“It was brought up to my attention in several e-mails that I got but I never discussed it. … Here’s the thing: People ask me ‘Steve, hey man, what do you think about that?’ First of all, it’s obviously reminiscent of the Stone Cold Stunner but here’s my biggest beef with it: It’s such a dynamic move and it requires such precision and timing, because his foot could slip on that rope, guys are wearing baby oil, they’re sweating, anything could happen, so that move is very precise. But when you hit that move, why don’t you establish it and get a couple of three counts out of it? So then when Rusev kicks out of it, or whoever kicks out of it, if they do, it means something. So they could have had another ace up his sleeve had he actually beaten people with it. … My point is had they looked further down the road than the short term he would have had a real valid great badass finish than just a set up which now means nothing.”
