It’s been widely speculated that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan may be appearing on Raw tonight from Seattle, fresh off of his brand new Tide Pods commercial. However, a new report has surfaced, which says that Bryan tried to leave the WWE, but was blocked from doing so.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer posted on the Wrestling Classics forum, saying that “He did give notice and was told he did not have the right to give notice.”
Bryan’s contract has been frozen due to an injury, a provision in Superstar contracts that helps WWE make up lost time when a talent is sidelined. The company was at odds with former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio due to this same clause.
As is pertains to Bryan not having the right to give notice, based on the available talent contracts, that appears to be true. The contract can be pretty much permanently frozen unless Bryan takes the WWE to court.
Bryan has been out of action since last April, when he suffered a concussion in a six-man tag match in the UK. In total Bryan has only been able to wrestle a little under three months over the course of the last 22.
Daniel Bryan recently spoke to the New Paper in Singapore while doing promotional work for WWE. During the interview he indicated that his WWE career could be over.
Speaking about his injury Bryan said: “I think it could be the end of my career in WWE, but I don’t think it will be the end of my career. I could find another passion, but it would be sad because this is what I have been most passionate about since I was five.”
Daniel Bryan has been cleared by a reputable doctor who has worked the super Bowl for the NFL, but he has yet to be cleared by the WWE.
Bryan said he had a discussion with John Cena about it something were to happen to him and the WWE, would he go back to doing the indies. Bryan said, “Absolutely.”
Bryan said there is no way to know how this is going to play out until WWE makes the call, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Daniel Bryan appeared recently at the Wizard World Chicago event in Rosemont, Il. Bran talked about his future in WWE:
Bryan mde it clear that he has no idea when he will wrestle for WWE again or if he will ever wrestle for WWE again. He said the problem was concussion related dating back to April I think. A doctor who worked for the Super Bowl cleared him to wrestle, but WWE is being really careful with Bryan’s concussion history and is not ready and may never be ready to give him the green light to go back in the ring. Bryan said he’s training as if he is going to return, but the decision is not up to him. He mentioned that he could work SummerSlam this Sunday if WWE added him to the event. What he said definitely came off as that he is completely 100% healthy and the only reason why he’s not wrestling right now is because WWE won’t let him.

There are some who believe that Daniel Bryan’s in-ring wrestling career is over, one of those is WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, whose career ended in the ring. Hart believes Bryan’s career is over and Bryan doesn’t know it yet.
Bryan’s wife, Brie Bella, believes Bryan will get back in the ring. She believes it’s because “my husband is stronger than any man I have ever met.”
In an interview with BBC promoting the new season of “Total Divas,” Brie said there have been “some very positive things in his recovery.” She didn’t go into specifics.
Brie added, “He has such a fight in him so I feel you will see him back in that ring. I know my husband’s dreams. Granted, he’s done so much in the wrestling business – and it’s not over forever – but it’s not supposed to end this way.”
Brie said they talk daily about his recovery and desire to wrestle again. Bryan went through a neck/shoulder injury in 2014 and has reportedly experienced a concussion related issue this year to go with several concussion injuries pre-WWE.
“He needs a lot of prayers. We talk about this daily and he will get back in that ring. That is his goal and I believe in him. I really do,” Brie said.

Last night on RAW, Daniel Bryan came to the ring thanked the fans and relinquished the WWE Intercontinental Championship due to his ongoing health issues. Bryan said the title deserves to be defended and he is unable to do so.
Bryan said he spent the last two weeks in and out of doctors offices and he requested to come out on RAW to address the fans and to relinquish the title. Bryan said he had a MRI last week and the doctors don’t know how long he will be out of action – it could be weeks, months or he may never be able to wrestle again.
Last night on RAW, Michael Cole and JBL mentioned that the Intercontinental Championship: (C) Daniel Bryan VS Bad News Barrett at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view is in jeopardy due to Bryan’s ongoing health issues.
WWE noted on their website that Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to determine if he’s able to perform. WWE wrote the following:
Daniel Bryan rose above six other Superstars to capture his first Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. However, if the ever-popular “Yes!” Man hopes to hold onto the title, he’ll have to get past the Superstar who lost the championship that day, Bad News Barrett, at Extreme Rules. Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to see if he can defend his title at Extreme Rules.
PWInsider reports that WWE officials have pulled Daniel Bryan from the current European tour, likely due to ongoing health issues, following Tuesdays SmackDown taping in London, where Bryan teamed with John Cena.
