Trish Stratus Returned To WWE On RAW, Helping Lita And Becky Lynch Win Women’s Tag Titles

Last night on RAW, Trish Stratus returned, helping Lita and Becky Lynch win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Damage CTRL’s IYO Sky and Dakota Kai.

Stratus took out Bayley, preventing her from interfering in the title match. Lynch put SKY in an armbar while Lita nailed Kai with a top-rope moonsault to dethrone Damage CTRL on the Road To WrestleMania.

Lita and Lynch are both in their first reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, ending Damage CTRL’s second title run at 114 days. SKY and Kai won the titles from Alexa Bliss and Asuka at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th, 2022.

Lita Makes Surprise Return To WWE Monday Night RAW – Aids Becky Lynch Against Damage CTRL

WWE Hall of Famer Lita made her return to WWE during this week’s episode of RAW and has her sights set on Damage CTRL.

In the main event of RAW, Bayley faced Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage match, the same match the pair were meant to have at RAW’s 30th-anniversary show.

During the closing moments of the match, Lita made her return and took out IYO SKY and Dakota Kai who were at ringside.

Lita’s most recent match in WWE was at last year’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, where she lost to then-Champion Becky Lynch in a RAW Women’s Title match.

During an episode of the Broken Skull Sessions, Bayley named Lita as her dream opponent from any era.

It is WrestleMania season, and Lita’s new pattern seems to suggest she likes showing up around the Elimination Chamber. Did she just appear for a one-off last night? Or is there more involvement planned for her in the coming months?

Why Becky Lynch Vs. Bayley Steel Cage Match On WWE Raw Is XXX Didn’t Happen

Fans looking forward to the Steel Cage Match between bitter rivals Bayley and Becky Lynch on “WWE Raw is XXX” were left puzzled as the match ended abruptly, with the referee never calling for the bell.

According to Fightful Select, WWE called an audible on the Bayley vs. Lynch bout due to the earlier “Tribal Court” segment featuring The Bloodline going longer than planned, which meant that “several segments needed to be trimmed” through the rest of the show.

Fightful added that the original plan was for “the match and entrances to get two segments,” which would have typically meant a 10-14 minute match at the least. Once the opening Bloodline segment ran too long, WWE felt it made sense to “work an angle to set up to a full on match” at a later date, rather than having a short cage match lasting barely a few minutes. WWE obviously had a ton of segments already planned for the rest of its 30-year anniversary edition of “Raw.”

The angle in question was set up after Bayley and Lynch got their entrances, following which Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai jumped “The Man” and launched her into the wall of the cage with a double-team flapjack. Thereafter, Kai once again smashed Lynch’s back against the cage before locking the cage to deny WWE Official Adam Pearce and others entry into the cage. Following a moonsault from Kai, Damage CTRL hit a triple-team move planting Lynch face-first to the mat.

Eventually, Pearce used a boltcutter to enter the ring, but Lynch was deemed unable to compete. The segment ended with Damage CTRL posing atop the cage.

Both Bayley and Lynch are confirmed entrants in Saturday’s Women’s Royal Rumble Match. Lynch has the opportunity to win the annual battle royal for the second time in her career, following her victory in the second-ever Women’s Royal Rumble in 2019, meanwhile, Bayley has never won the Rumble.

“The Man” Becky Lynch Returned On SmackDown

The Man is back!

During Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Becky Lynch made her return during the opening segment of the show where she revealed that she’ll be joining Team Bianca for WarGames.

It has long been rumored that Lynch would be the final member of Belair’s team, which turned out to be the case. Lynch will join Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Mia Yim to face off against Damage CTRL, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki Cross in WarGames.

Big Time Becks hasn’t been seen since WWE SummerSlam, where she suffered a separated shoulder.

Huge Backstage Update On WWE’s Becky Lynch Return Plans

With WWE’s Survivor Series WarGames event right around the corner, things could be taking a relatively unexpected turn this week. As it happens, a major return from injury is potentially on the cards.

Skip Ad
That’s because “Fightful Select” is reporting that “as of last week at least, former WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was expected to be back soon.”

Lynch suffered a separated shoulder at SummerSlam in July during her match with Bianca Belair for the “Raw” Women’s Championship. Making it all the more interesting is that as recently as one month ago, Fightful noted that there was both no actual timeline for her to return and that there certainly weren’t plans in place for Lynch to return early. As is always the case when it comes to wrestling, however, plans are subject to change.

Now Fightful has been told that there have been talks of Lynch being the fifth member of Belair’s team in the women’s WarGames match this Saturday, which would see her align with Belair, Mia Yim, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka. Right now, those four are waiting on a fifth woman to join them in taking on Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY), Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley.

Bianca said on Monday’s RAW that they will name their 5th member Friday on SmackDown.

It’s also been reported that the current feeling around the locker room in regard to working with Lynch specifically is one of excitement, especially now that Vince McMahon is no longer booking things. Just before her injury-forced departure, “The Man” came back around.

Becky Lynch To Appear On The Season Premiere Of “Young Rock”

The third season of The Rock’s “Young Rock” series will premiere this Friday on NBC at 8:30 PM EST.

WWE’s Becky Lynch, billed under her real name of Rebecca Quinn, will be playing rock star Cyndi Lauper in the episode, according to PWinsider.com.

The episode will be about a party Lauper throws around WrestleMania 1 with actors portraying Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Vince McMahon, Lou Albano, and Liberace.

When the series was being cast, Lauper was listed as a possible recurring character, so this may not be Lynch’s only appearance on the show. Here is the plot for the episode that is titled “The People Need You:”

“After losing the election, Dwayne Johnson is ready to withdraw from politics. In 1985, Rocky Johnson learns there’s consequences to crossing Vince McMahon.”

Lynch has been sidelined for the last couple of months due to a separated shoulder and unfortunately, it’s been reported that she is nowhere close to returning to in-ring action.

Becky Lynch Confirms Injury

As we noted earlier this weekend, it looked like top WWE star Becky Lynch suffered a shoulder injury during her match against Bianca Belair at SummerSlam this past Saturday. Tonight’s episode of WWE “Raw” confirmed that news shortly after reports emerged online that Lynch’s injury was legitimate. Becky appeared in a sling as she walked down to the ring in all black on tonight’s show, and through evident emotions, she told fans that she had two choices when she realized the injury had occurred: give up or keep fighting on.

That made her realize who she was deep down — not someone that needs constant validation or fancy clothes. Instead, she will focus on grit, determination, and defining what it means to be the man. Lynch promises she is starting a new era with the most impressive comeback in WWE History.

Becky would then invite Bianca Belair to the ring and express her admiration for the EST of WWE before telling her to “hold it down” while she is away. Bianca supported the idea that Becky is “The Man” and explained that she couldn’t pass up the opportunity at SummerSlam to become allies with Lynch. That’s when she was interrupted by a live feed from a backstage camera. Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai, seemingly named “Control” as a group based on recent social media posts, were shown attacking an injured Becky in the backstage area as her arm was still in a sling. Bayley had caught her arm in the chair and was on the offense as Bianca Belair retreated from the ring and ran to make the save. IYO, Dakota, and Bayley fleed as soon as Bianca approached, leaving Bianca alone to console a hurt Becky.

As noted, Lynch was leaving the arena at WWE SummerSlam with the medical team while keeping her arm close to her body. Lynch noticeably started favoring her shoulder after taking a Glam Slam from Belair during their WWE “Raw” Women’s Title match.

A report from Fightful said they couldn’t give a timetable on Becky Lynch’s eventual return, and it is a 50/50chance  whether or not Lynch would have to have surgery.

Becky Lynch is expected to miss at least several months of in-ring action, WWE announced via a tweet Monday.

Becky Lynch Injured At WWE SummerSlam?

Big news coming out of last night centered around the first match of the show when Bianca Belair successfully defended her “Raw” Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch. This was, by all means, a full circle moment for ‘The EST of WWE,’ considering last year’s SummerSlam featured the same singles match but for the “SmackDown” Women’s Title. On that particular occasion, Lynch would defeat Belair in a rapid 26 seconds — a far cry from how the competitive, back-and-forth match played out last night at “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”

Unfortunately, one of the women in the bout may have suffered a shoulder/arm injury in the heat of the match. As seen in the tweet below, Lynch was leaving the arena with the medical team while keeping her arm close to her body and giving a thumbs up.

During the match, Lynch noticeably started favoring her shoulder after taking a Glam Slam from Belair. It is not known at this time whether the former women’s champion will be sidelined due to the possible injury. If legitimate, this wouldn’t be the first time Lynch has been injured throughout their lengthy rivalry, as before their WrestleMania 38 match, Lynch fractured her larynx but returned in time to compete.

As noted, several women returned to WWE last night, including the multi-time Women’s Champion, Bayley, alongside former “NXT” alumni Io Shirai (now Iyo Sky) and Dakota Kai. This new all-women stable with Bayley, Sky, and Kai was pitched quite a while ago before Kai was first released from WWE in April. Vince McMahon had reportedly rejected the idea, even when other versions were pitched, including Kay Lee Ray and Raquel Rodriguez. The three women returned as a collective force and immediately confronted the “Raw” Women’s Champion, Belair. That was when Lynch, seemingly turning face for the first time in over a year, would stand by Belair’s side and show that she wouldn’t let the new faction run through Bianca if she had anything to say about it.

Becky Lynch Reportedly Legitimately Injured

RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is reportedly suffering from a legitimate injury.

Lynch took to Instagram yesterday and announced that she would miss RAW due to Bianca Belair damaging her voice box during the main event of Sunday’s WWE live event in Allentown, which saw Lynch retain her title over Belair and Rhea Ripley. She posted a photo from what appeared to be a hospital room, but did not elaborate.

PWInsider reports that Lynch is legitimately hurt, and is expected to be out of action for around two weeks.

As long as Lynch is back in the expected timeframe, she will be able to make her WrestleMania 38 match with Belair, which takes place during Night One of the big event on Saturday, April 2.

While Lynch stated that she would not be at RAW, she was backstage at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland. There is no word yet on if the “fracture” of the voice box is legitimate, or just a storyline excuse for another issue.

There is no word on what led to Lynch’s injury or what the real issue is, but a correspondent at Sunday’s WWE live event in Allentown noted that Lynch seemed fine, but Ripley and Belair did work most of the match.

Ric Flair Wants An Apology From Becky Lynch, Oh And $20 Million From WWE

A quick tweet and delete, something The Nature Boy is becoming known for nowadays.

Ric Flair had quite the year in 2021. He started it as a WWE Superstar, even making his return to TV and becoming an active part of what was a pretty odd and eventually scrapped angle. His latest stint with WWE came to an end after he was granted his release. While there doesn’t appear to be bad blood between the two parties for the most part, Flair refuses to let one thing go.

That one thing is WWE’s use of the mantra, The Man. Or, more accurately, Becky Lynch’s use of it. Lynch has been calling herself The Man for a while. However, The Nature Boy claims he owns it, at least in the wrestling world. Flair’s claim stems from when he would say “to be the man, you gotta beat the man” during his heyday.

The situation appears to have become even more complicated rather than get resolved. There has been talk since the turn of the year that WWE has abandoned the trademark. There are also conflicting reports that WWE has simply decided to not have Lynch refer to herself as The Man anymore. Either way, Flair seems to believe he is owed an apology, not to mention a hefty chunk of change for his troubles.

Naitch published a tweet demanding apologies from Lynch and WWE, but then quickly deleted it which has become customary for the 16-time World Champion. “I’ll take 2 apologies- one from Big Time Becks & one from WWE,” Flair tweeted, adding that he’ll also take 20 million. Assuming he means dollars there, and also assuming he believes WWE has made $20 million by having Lynch refer to herself as The Man for part of her career.

Whether WWE has admitted the trademark belongs to Flair or not, it’s hard to imagine a world where The Nature Boy receives $20 million for Lynch’s use of it. This appears to be more about a problem he has with Lynch as opposed to WWE referring to her as The Man. This isn’t the first time Naitch has tweeted something about her and then immediately thought better of it. Perhaps the Hall of Famer is still hung up on the title exchange between Lynch and his daughter Charlotte last year.
