Paul Wight Confirms In-Ring Return, Will Face QT Marshall At All Out

Former WWE Superstar Paul Wight will make his in-ring AEW debut against QT Marshall at All Out next month.

The legendary Paul Wight will lace up his boots for the first time since July of 2020 when he goes one-on-one with QT Marshall at AEW’s upcoming All Out pay-per-view on September 5th.

Wight announced his imminent return to the ring on the most recent edition of Dynamite, but the catalyst for his return was ignited on Dynamite a few weeks ago when QT Marshall poured a protein shake over Tony Schiavone’s head during a backstage interview. Schiavone had been critical of The Factory (QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, and Nick Comoroto) and their dastardly antics in the weeks leading up to the incident, much to the chagrin of Marshall, who lashed out and tried to make an example out of the veteran broadcaster.

The following week, The Factory continued to torment Schiavone by assaulting his son in front of his eyes. Paul Wight had no intention of letting Marshall and his cronies bully his old friend and current broadcast partner and so he inserted himself into the matter. The artist formerly known as The Big Show came to the ring and hit Solow with a huge Chokeslam while QT and Comoroto got outta dodge.

On this week’s Dynamite, Wight joined Schiavone in the ring for a chat. He explained that it felt good to hit that chokeslam and said he was still hyped up about it. Before he could go any further, QT and The Factory interrupted. Marshall was clearly concerned that Wight was considering an in-ring return because he came prepared with images of Wight’s carious surgeries, which he displayed on the big screen for all to see. Marshall’s attempts to deter Wight from getting back in the ring failed, and Wight revealed that he would be making his in-ring AEW debut at All Out … against QT Marshall.

Wight’s match at All Out will be his first for AEW. His last match took place in WWE back in July of 2020 when he lost to Randy Orton in an Unsanctioned match on Raw.

Jon Moxley Pulled From Starrcast III

Conrad Thompson has confirmed that Jon Moxley will not be appearing at the Starrcast III event in Chicago this weekend.

As noted, Moxley was pulled from Saturday’s AEW All Out match against Kenny Omega due to a bad case of MRSA in his elbow. He’s being replaced by PAC in the match. Moxley is expected to be out of action for 4 weeks.

“We received word today that unfortunately @JonMoxley won’t be able to travel to @StarrcastEvents. Once he got the word from his doctor he told us, “I’m sorry, this sucks.” I’m sure we all echo those sentiments. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him soon,” Conrad wrote on Wednesday night.

He continued, “Everyone who purchased his meet and greet has been notified via email. Refunds will begin being processed tomorrow. His stage show has been cancelled and a new schedule will be released tomorrow.”

Jon Moxley Injury Update – Pulled Out Of AEW “All Out”

Jon Moxley took to Twitter Friday afternoon to announce that he is pulling out of the AEW All Out match against Kenny Omega on August 31, due to a “serious case of MRSA” in his elbow. It was recently reported that Moxley may have picked up the staph infection while working in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

“I’m absolutely gutted to have to deliver this news but I’d rather it come directly from me. In a nightmare scenario, a serious case of MRSA has returned in my elbow. The timing couldn’t be worse. In this circumstance I am forced to pull out of the fight 8/31 vs Omega at All Out,” Moxley wrote in his original tweet.

Moxley continued tweeting this afternoon and apologized to the fans, noting that he should be good to go for the AEW TNT premiere on October 2. He also confirmed surgery for this week.

He wrote, “I apologize to all involved, most importantly the fans. I am incredibly frustrated and pissed off. I’ll have surgery this week to remove the bursa sac in my elbow and be done with it for good. Should be a quick recovery so I will be 100% for AEW Wednesday nights on TNT.”

Moxley also encouraged fans to tune in to the All Out pay-per-view.

“Still, I expect All out to be an amazing ppv and hope all the fans out there looking for an alternative tune in. You will be blown away by AEW and be excited to be a wrestling fan. I’m looking forward to watching as a fan myself,” he wrote.

Moxley added, “This f–king sucks.”

On the latest edition of Being the Elite, it was revealed that it will be PAC taking Moxley’s place against Kenny Omega at AEW All Out this Saturday.

* Cody in the AEW office with The Young Bucks. On the whiteboard it says “Easter Egg 1” and “Easter Egg 2.” All three are stressed with Moxley out of the match and there’s only a week to go before the PPV. Matt says make the main event a triple threat match, but the other two respond that doesn’t make any sense. Cody follows up, “That’s a WWE move.” Cody says Kota Ibushi, Matt responds, “He’s not available, we don’t even work with that company.” Nick Jackson throws out “Marty Scurll, he’s probably available.” Matt says, “He might as well be dead to us.” Cody offers up Flip Gordon, that gets a no. Matt then thinks of PAC and Cody isn’t so sure, especially after what happened last time. Matt pulls out his phone, “What time do ya think it is in London right now?” We see a graphic of PAC vs. Kenny Omega at All Out.

Roddy Piper’s Daughter Teal To Compete At All Out

Teal Piper, the daughter of wrestling legend Roddy Piper, will be a participant in AEW’s Casino Battle Royale match during the All Out pre-show.

The announcement was made on the latest episode of “Road to All Out.” Brandi Rhodes reveals the match will include all female participants this year, with the winner getting a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.

As we previously reported, the first women’s champ will be crowned on AEW’s TNT debut.

In the video, Teal talks about what it was like growing up as the daughter of Roddy Piper. While she doesn’t say how long she’s been training, Piper says she feels like making the leap to the wrestling business will help her feel closer to her father in the afterlife.

Former Lucha Underground star Ivelisse and ex-WWE wrestler Jazz were also revealed as competitors in the match set to take place on August 31.

* Alex Marvez in the AEW Control Center to talk about AAA TripleMania XXVII where Cody teamed up with Psycho Clown and Cain Velasquez in a winning effort against Texano Jr., Killer Kross, and Taurus. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks also teamed up against Pentagon Jr. Fenix, and Laredo Kid.

* Nyla Rose talked about she always knew who she was and initially had to put on a mask to hide who she really was. Over time, Rose realized that wasn’t healthy for her and she decided to be who she wanted to be. Rose says the one place she thought would shun her (the wrestling business) was the first place to completely embrace her. Rose said it was incredibly humbling when people from AEW came to her and said they wanted her to work for them. Rose continues that she’s put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the business and it feels surreal that she can be where she’s at, and be herself.

The Young Bucks Say They’ve Had A Lot Of Talks With CM Punk, Provide Update On PAC’s Status With AEW

AEW’s All Out, has been speculated as the night that former muti-time WWE Champion CM Punk will return to professional wrestling and debut with AEW. All Out takes place at the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, the city where Punk is from.

“We’ll be honest, of course we would love [Punk] to come to our company,” Nick Jackson told Chris Van Vliet. “At this time, I just don’t think he wants to. Matt talks to him all the time about it but the timing is not right, I guess.”

“When he wants to come back to wrestling, it’ll be his decision,” Matt explained. “Professional wrestling is the most demanding thing in the world. You can’t just find yourself back in it one day and be like, ‘Okay, I guess I’m doing this again.’ You really have to want to do it and that’s up to him.”

With or without Punk in AEW, the company has been a hot topic of conversation in the pro wrestling industry. The Bucks took some time to note the improvements that AEW has brought to performers and the overall competitive nature of the sport.

“We’ve changed the whole pay scale for everyone in wrestling, which is awesome,” Nick said. “A lot of our friends are getting paid and they’re finally making money for the first time in their careers. It feels good, it feels awesome.”

“The pressure has been put on everybody in the professional wrestling business,” Matt added. “… Everybody is trying harder now. It’s very competitive again. We need competition again; the industry needs it to survive.”

At Double Or Nothing this past May, “Hangman” Adam Page and PAC were supposed to have a one-on-one bout that was ultimately cancelled due to creative differences. The Bucks mentioned that they still have every intention of bringing on PAC as a part of their future AEW productions.

“He’s coming. I mean, eventually,” Matt stated.

“It’s a work in progress. It’s obvious that Matt and I are big fans of his,” Nick said. “We met him like 10 years ago over in Japan, so we’ll always have ties with him and we wanna work things out with him. I think it’s just a matter of trying to fit his schedule with ours and hopefully, things will work out.”

“It’s a priority for us and I think we’re gonna make this thing work,” Matt added.
