Nikki Garcia’s Husband (Artem Chigvintsev) Arrested For Domestic Battery

Dancing With The Stars Pro Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on charges of felony domestic battery. Chigvintsev is the husband of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia (Nikki Bella).

TMZ is reporting that a representative for the Napa County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that police responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville shortly after 10:00 AM local time on Thursday.

After interviews were conducted, an arrest was made at the scene. It is said that injuries are involved.

At around 8:30 AM PST on Thursday, a call was made from the home of Chigvintsev and his wife, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia (Nikki Bella), to report a “medical emergency.” As of this writing, there is no word on who made the call.

As paramedics and the fire department were en route, someone from the same house called 911 to cancel the request. At that point, paramedics and the fire department returned to their stations.

Police did arrive at the home, as per usual when someone calls 911. At 10:00 AM PST, Artem was arrested for felony corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant. For the arrest to be a felony, the injury must be visible.

Additionally, TMZ is reporting that the alleged victim in the case is cooperating with police. It is said that police are interested to know whether there’s a history of domestic violence between the two people involved. The victim in the case has asked for total confidentiality. So while we can’t and won’t name Nikki as the victim, you can draw your own conclusions here.

While the victim has been talking to law enforcement, they are planning follow-up interviews with both sides to see if there is a history of past incidents. Additionally, it is said that a child may have witnessed the incident.

Finally, Chigvintsev posted a $25,000 bail and was released from jail at 2:18 PM PST.

The investigation is still currently ongoing.

Wrestling Legend Sid Vicious Dies At 63

Former WCW and WWE Champion Sid Vicious (real name Sidney Raymond Eudy) has passed away, after losing a battle with cancer. He was 63.

The news was first broke by Sid’s son Gunnar Eudy on facebook.

Vicious is also survived by his wife Sabrina Paige, whom he married in 1983.

Vicious was trained by Tojo Yamamoto. He began his professional wrestling career in 1997 in Continental Championship Wrestling under a mask, going by the in-ring name of Lord Humungous.  Eudy then had a very brief run in the Texas based World Class Championship Wrestling, where he adopted the in-ring names of Sid Vicious, which he took from the punk rock musician of the same name who played bass for the Sex Pistols.

He is most notable for his time in WCW from 1989 to 1991 as part of the Skyscrapers with “Dangerous” Dan Spivey and a part of the Four Horseman. After leaving WCW, Vicious signed a contract with the WWE/F. He went under the in-ring name of Sid Justice. He voluntarily quit the company in 1992 after creative differences.

Vicious returned back to WCW in 1993 and would leave a year later for the USWA, where he spend one-year before returning to WWE/F in 1995. After leaving the company again in 1997, he wrestling in Mexico and the independent scene, before returning to WCW in 1999.

On January 14, 2001, at WCW’s Sin pay-per-view in Indianapolis, Indiana Sid faced Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett and Road Warrior Animal in a Four Corners match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Sid suffered a near career-ending injury. Vicious suffered a leg fracture following leaping from the second turnbuckle in attempt to give a big boot to Steiner. He landed awkwardly on his left leg, causing it to snap both the tibia and fibula, with one of the bones breaking through his skin and his foot rotating at 90 degrees anti-clockwise. The footage was too graphic for many television stations to re-air. However, WCW replayed it on Nitro the following night.

At the time, WCW executive John Laurinaitis it was reported that he had felt Vicious needed to broaden his wrestling moves and suggested he try the move despite the “unwillingness” of Vicious. The injury put Vicious out of action indefinitely. He went through an extensive amount of rehabilitation following the injury.

On the June 25, 2012, episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Vicious made his return to the company as Sycho Sid where he defeated Heath Slater in a match that was part of the build up to the 1000th episode of Raw.

On August 5, 2017, Vicious ended up wrestling the last match of his career, defeating Paul Rosenberg in Ottawa, Ontario for Great North Wrestling.

He is a two-time WCW World Champion and a one-time WCW United States Champion and a two-time WWE/F Champion.

In addition, to WCW and WWE/F, Vicious held titles in the USWA, CCW, NWA Northeastern and Southeastern Championship Wrestling. He also wrestled for ECW.

WWE issues a statement on the passing of Sid “Vicious” Eudy:

Sid Eudy passes away
WWE is saddened to learn that Sid Eudy has passed away.

A two-time WWE Champion, Sid was one of the most imposing and terrifying competitors of his generation with a natural charisma that immediately connected with the WWE Universe. Standing at 6’9, Sid gained notoriety in 1989 when he signed with WCW and wrestled with and against some of the biggest names in the industry, including The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors and The Four Horseman.

Debuting as Sid Justice in WWE, he served as the Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam 1991, where WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior teamed up against The Triangle of Terror in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. That very same night, Sid saved Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an attack at the evil hands of Jake Roberts and The Undertaker at the couple’s newlywed reception.

After a few years away from WWE, Sid made his triumphant return as “Sycho Sid,” where he allied himself with Shawn Michaels and was in his corner at WrestleMania XI when The Heartbreak Kid challenged Diesel for the WWE Title. That night would begin an iconic rivalry between the two with Sid winning the WWE Championship from The Showstopper at Survivor Series in 1996 and joined the hallowed ranks of champions. After losing the title back to Michaels, Sid became a two-time champion by defeating Bret Hart on the Feb. 17, 1997 edition of Raw.

Known as “The Master and Ruler of the World”, Sid’s reputation as one of the toughest and most thrilling Superstars cemented his legacy in WWE, and his influence can still be seen in wrestling rings around the world.

WWE extends its condolences to Eudy’s family, friends and fans.

Dory Funk Jr. (83-Years-Old) Hit With Exploding Baseball Bat During FMW-E Match In Japan

At a show celebrating Atsushi Onita’s fiftieth anniversary in pro wrestling and paying tribute to the late Terry Funk, the main event saw 83-year-old Dory Funk Jr. compete in a “Double Hell Current Explosion Death Match” as the wrestling Hall of Famer teamed with Osamu Nishimura to take on Onita and Raijin Yaguchi inside Fujitsu Kawasaki Stadium in Kawasaki, Japan.

During the match, Onita slammed an exploding baseball bat against Funk’s back, but the former NWA World Champion and his tag partner, who signed a waiver with his hospital to compete as Nishimura is currently battling stage four cancer, ultimately won the bout after a spinning toe hold from Funk forced Yaguchi to submit.

The match in Japan makes Funk a part of a rare group of wrestlers to compete in matches across seven different decades.
