Vanessa’s thoughts on NXT Takeover: REvolution

This is my first opinion piece regarding the WWE in what seems like for forever but today in the middle of the day in California I have a great reason to be writing one. That’s because yesterday I stayed up till almost 4am watching a replay of NXT’s REvolution. I might also add that this was the FIRST time I actually watched an NXT show all the way through and let me tell you, I’m so happy I choose last night to do so.

NXT has something for everyone. If you’re into the brawling style of wrestling then Kevin Owens would be your go to wrestler. If you lean more towards powerhouses you have Baron Corbin, if you’re into high flyers you have the Lucha Dragons, if you like technical wrestlers you have Charlotte and if you like wrestlers that are a mix of a little bit of everything then keep an eye out for guys like Hedio Itami or Finn Balor.

All of the people I just listed wrestled in last nights NXT event and so if you haven’t watched it you should go do that ASAP. I was more entertained in the 2 hours that NXT put on yesterday then I have been with the 3 hours raw puts on every week in a VERY VERY VERY long time. From the very first match between Kevin Owens and CJ Parker all the way to the main event between Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn there was NEVER and I mean NEVER a dull moment.

At one point in the NXT women’s title match between Charlotte and Sasha Banks fans were chanting “holy sh**” and “this is wrestling” when is the last time or if ever have we heard that in a divas match on the main roster?

Lets talk about the main Event shall we? The championship match between Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn is all that is RIGHT in the world of professional wrestling. A good ol fashion wrestling match that went back and forth and kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Whether you’re a fan of Zayn or Neville both men delivered and made sure every fan would walk away happy.

The end of the match also proves that NXT is head and shoulders above the rest… SPOILER ALERT……… After Sami Zayn picked up the victory and became the new NXT world champion he was overcome with emotion as the rest of the NXT locker room came to congratulate him. The moment was so emotional that there are reports from people in attendance that audience members were crying and hugging one another. Now tell me have we EVER seen that happen on a raw or Smackdown??? NO WE HAVEN’T and there sure as hell haven’t been any reports of moments like that either.

Here is another example of why everyone should be watching NXT. As Zayn was still celebrating, his real life good friend Kevin Owens comes back to embrace him with another hug but THEN rips him off the apron sending the back of Zayn’s head into the apron.

Ladies and gents that’s how you make a moment. That’s how a heel is born and that’s how you set up a great feud. Now what we have here are two real life friends, two ROH alumni feuding for a world title! That exact moment and everything else that happened last night is proof that professional wrestling is alive and well.

It also proves that Triple H truly does know what’s best for business and the sooner Vince McMahon steps down and HHH takes over it’ll be better for EVERYONE

But for now I advise that you dive deep into the world of NXT and enjoy every single second of this amazing ride. It’s gonna be a GOOD ONE

NXT Takeover: R Evolution Results

Corey Graves announced his retirement from in-ring action because doctors advised him to retire due to concussion related issues. Graves also announced that he is joining the NXT announce team. He joined the announce team to call the action for NXT Takeover: R Evolution!

(C) Adrian Neville – Zayn is new NXT Champion: After the match the locker room emptied, Kevin Owens embraced his former partner & friend Zayn reached out to shake Neville’s hand. Neville kicked it away and embraced him. Owens and Zayn headed up the ramp and Owens turned on Zayn, slamming him onto the ramp and then powerbombed him on the ring apron.

 

 

Kevin Steen Tweets About New WWE NXT Name

Kevin Steen’s new WWE NXT name is Kevin Owens. He changed his Twitter handle to @FightOwensFight to reflect his new name. He tweeted the following message:

Rumors Of Possible New Partners For Bray Wyatt

The Ascension

F4WOnline reports that there are rumors of NXT tag team The Ascension being called up to WWE’s main roster to be partner with Bray Wyatt. The rumors are unconfirmed but it could have to do with Wyatt setting Luke Harper & Erick Rowan free.

 

KENTA Makes NXT Debut & Changes Name

KENTA

KENTA made his NXT debut on Thursday night during NXT Takeover 2 on the WWE Network. KENTA announced that he is changing his name to Hideo Itami. He makes his NXT in-ring debut next week.

A team made of greatness

I tell you whenever I see things like this on my twitter TL I can’t help but smile. Just this Thursday Natalya and Charlotte had an amazing match on nxt takeover, who’s one of the people that Natalya credits for such a successful match? None other then “the queen of spades” Shayna Baszler. You can check out the tweet here

Who knows maybe with all the training and time shared between these two it could mean that the queen of hearts and queen of spades may team together in the squared circle in the near future.

Charlotte Dedicates Her Match To Her Brother

Ric Flair tweeted the following about his daughter Charlotte winning the NXT Women’s Title last night:
“We have a new @WWENXT Champ! So proud! @MsCharlotteWWE”.

Charlotte dedicated her win last night to her brother Reid and called him her inspiration. Also, WWE has added her theme song “Recognition” to iTunes.
