Talk of pay issues within TNA continue as Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed details originally broke by Brian Fritz of The Sporting News. As of this past weekend, TNA production crew has not been paid for the February pay-per-view tapings or any event since then.
Production workers received pay in April for the January UK tour, which was almost 70 days late when they’re supposed to be paid within 30 days. The checks were not only late but they were shorted on average of $1,000 per person.
Making things worse, the production crew found out that TNA talents were finally being paid for the March tapings while production hadn’t been paid for February yet. TNA had similar pay issues in 2014 that were more significant but one production worker noted that this is the third year in a row where there were issues at one point or another with late payments. While they have dealt with late payments before, being shorted money on a check is a new problem and likely a big morale killer.
It appears that The Great Sanada is gone from TNA. Last week James Storm mention that we would never see Sanada again. TNA has moved The Great Sanada to their Alumni roster. He is expected to return the Japan promotion Wrestle-1.
According to Wrestling Observer Newslettter, TNA and Mexico’s AAA promotion have been in talks about TNA possibly sending a three-man team to the Lucha Libre World Cup trios tournament in late May, which could re-open relation between the two companies.
TNA and AAA resuming their relationship could hurt Jeff Jarrett because he has been talking about using AAA talent in his Global Force Wrestling promotion.
There will be just two teams from AAA in their Lucha Libre trios tournament. One will be made up of Alberto El Patron, Rey Mysterio and Myzteziz (the original Sin Cara in WWE).
