ROH On New England Sports Network

According to PWInsider, Ring of Honor will air tonight on the New England Sports Network. While it may not be picked up by all NESN’s affiliates, this week’s episode of ROH TV will air at midnight ET. The episode featured the ROH in-ring return of Chris Sabin, as well as Alberto El Patron in action.

ROH has yet to make an official announcement about the airing, so tonight’s episode may not be considered the “official debut” by the company. NESN is available on DirecTV and Dish Network.

More Names Revealed For GFW Roster

More Global Force Wrestling roster members was revealed today. A few of the familiar names added to the roster were – Tyrus/Brodus Clay, Cliff Compton/Domino and Bullet Club members, The Young Bucks.

 

Big names to appear on Tough Enough 

  It is being repotted today on various news sites  that a press release for this years Tough Enough was issued out and according to the news it looks like this years Tough Enough just got a whole lot better.

It is being stated that Chris Jericho will be the host of the show. Trainers of the show include Billy Gun and WWE Hall of Fammers Booker T and Lita.

If that list wasn’t already star studded enough there will be a panel consisting of Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan and Paige. The three of them will also have a say in how the show plays out.

Tough enough is set to air live on the WWE NETWORK beginning June 23rd at 5PT/7CT/8ET

First 4 Wrestlers & Commentator Revealed For Jeff Jarrett’s GFW

Jeff and Karen Jarrett hosted the Global Force Wrestling press conference today at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen was announced as the Expert Analyst or commentator for GFW.

Sonnen announced the first 4 wrestlers for GFW who will debut at the first GFW tapings on July 24th:

Davey Boy Smith Jr.

PJ Black (Justin Gabriel

Bullet Club members – Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows

Chris Jericho Makes Big Announcement

Chris Jericho announced on his latest Talk Is Jericho podcast that he will be working 19 WWE live events in June, July, and August.

Jericho said he will not be working TV or pay-per-view events on this run but could return to those events soon. Jericho said he’s only working live events this run because he still has Fozzy touring to do and some family vacation this summer. Jericho said he is excited to return to WWE and work with some of the newer talents.

Jericho also said there won’t be another live WWE Network podcast for a while due to how busy he is now.

 

 

Jeff Jarrett’s GFW To Reveal Roster At Press Conference Wednesday 5/6/15

Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling will be having a press conference Wednesday at 1pm EST at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas to reveal the GFW roster. Apparently there will be a special guest. GFW tweeted the following:

 

Reebok terminates deal with Jon Jones 

  In light of recent events Reebok has decided to terminate the deal they once had with former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The announcement was first made this morning by ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

Reebok released the following statement 

“In light of recent events, we have made the decision to terminate our contract with Jon Jones, effective immediately,”

To add to the punishment Jon Jones has also been taken off the pound for pound rankings. Jose Aldo now holds the #1 spot.

Jones is the first champion in the history of the UFC to be stripped of a title do to disciplinary actions.

It should also be noted that the word going around is that Jones could be at least serving s minimum of a 1 year sentence.

AJ Lee Partnering With ‘Girls Make Games’ For Contest

Jon Jones suspended indefinitely 

  
After being involved in a hit and run Sunday morning in Albuquerque New Mexico UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been stripped of his title and has been suspended indefinitely from the UFC. Jones was arrested on Monday in Albuquerque on allegations of leaving the scene of an accident, which is a felony charge in New Mexico due to one of the drivers suffering a fractured wrist and arm. The injured driver, later identified as Vanessa Sonnenberg, was taken to the hospital because she is pregnant and felt like she might pass out at the scene.

UFC president Dana White made the announcement regarding Jones  via FOX Sports Live on Tuesday night. White Dana white said he had a chance to speak with Jones early on Tuesday before the promotion took any action against him. White had this to say.
“He didn’t say a lot. Obviously, he’s got to handle his legal proceedings,

“His lawyer didn’t have him say much. What we wanted to find out is what the facts were. There’s a lot of things that are being said out there about what happened that day, a lot of them are untrue, a lot of them are speculation, and we wanted to hear Jon’s side of the story and we wanted to hear what his lawyer had to say about it.”

Now with Jon Jones being out of UFC187 the new main event will now be Daniel Cormier vs Anthony Johnson for the light heavyweight title.

Dana white Also said that “Jones is obviously very disappointed about what happened. He wanted to go down as the greatest of all time but it is what it is and we had to make the right call.”

At this moment Jon Jone’s future with the UFC is up in the air. Jones has yet to speak out publicly on the situation but he did send out this tweet.

AWA Legend Verne Gagne Passed Away

Hall of Famer Verne Gagne passed away yesterday at the age of 89. Gagne was best known for promoting and operating American Wrestling Association out of Minnesota for several decades. AWA was a major force in professional wrestling for several decades before shutting down in 1991.

Gagne was a 10 time AWA World Heavyweight Champion and was later inducted into the WWE, WCW and Professional Wrestling Hall of Fames.

Gagne was known for his intense training camps. He had a hand in training the likes of Ric Flair, Bob Backlund, Iron Sheik, Curt Hennig, Ricky Steamboat, The Nasty Boys and many others. His son Greg also competed in AWA for several years.

Gagne was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and was forced to live in a health care facility. After an incident in 2009, Gagne would be cared for by his daughter Beth and son in law.
