TNA Wrestling has announced a new partnership that will bring amateur wrestling competition to TNA+, with the launch of “TNA’s :30 Second Takedown” following Bound For Glory 2026. The new tournament series will feature amateur wrestlers from across the United States competing in fast-paced 30-second matches, adding a unique combat sports element to TNA’s growing content lineup.
The promotion revealed that “TNA’s :30 Second Takedown” will premiere on Sunday, October 11, at 7 p.m. EST, immediately following TNA’s annual Bound For Glory pay-per-view event.
According to TNA, the tournament will showcase 32 amateur wrestlers competing in a single-elimination format where every second counts. Participants will have just 30 seconds to score a takedown and establish control of their opponent in order to advance to the next round.
How TNA’s :30 Second Takedown Will Work
TNA outlined the rules for the competition in its announcement.
Matchups will be determined by a shuffled deck of cards. Two names will be selected at random, and those competitors will immediately step onto the mat. From there, they will have only 30 seconds to secure a takedown and establish control.
The winner advances in the tournament, while the loser is eliminated.
As described by TNA:
“A deck of cards is shuffled, then two cards are pulled, revealing two names. Those two athletes step on the mat and have 30 seconds to take down their opponent and establish control. The winner advances. The loser goes home.”
First Competitors Announced
While the full field has not yet been revealed, TNA has confirmed several competitors for the tournament, including:
- Justin Grant (McDoubles Wrestling)
- Brandon Murray (Cyclone Regional Training Center)
- Jake Marlin (Team Marlin Wrestling Club)
Additional participants are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Production Team Revealed
TNA also announced key figures involved with the project.
George Veras, executive producer for TNA Wrestling, will oversee television production for the series. Meanwhile, Rich Christensen, creator of the popular motorsports television series PINKS, has been named host of the tournament.

The launch of TNA’s :30 Second Takedown marks another step in TNA Wrestling’s efforts to broaden its programming beyond traditional professional wrestling. By introducing a tournament centered on amateur wrestling competition, TNA is aiming to attract both wrestling fans and combat sports audiences with a format built around speed, strategy, and high-pressure competition.
