Backstage Update On TNA’s Ongoing TV Deal Hunt, AMC Emerges As Surprise Contender

TNA has spent most of 2025 making waves—some headline-worthy, some eyebrow-raising—but one major goal has remained at the top of the company’s priority list: securing a new television home. President Carlos Silva has publicly emphasized all summer that locking down a fresh media rights deal is the promotion’s biggest mission, even teasing ongoing discussions. Early chatter pointed toward A&E and The CW as possible destinations, thanks to their existing connections with WWE, a key promotional partner for TNA this year.

Now, with the calendar winding down, the outlook depends on who you ask. The Takedown on SI reports that TV industry insiders still expect TNA to finalize a new rights agreement before the end of 2025—possibly even sooner. Inside TNA, however, things appear murkier. Company officials aren’t offering updates, leaving the actual progress of negotiations up in the air.

While A&E and The CW are still in the mix, a new name has suddenly jumped to the front of the rumor mill: AMC. The network—best known for prestige hits like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, and Better Call Saul—doesn’t currently have ties to WWE, making it an unexpected frontrunner. Whether AMC and TNA have actually sat down for formal talks wasn’t confirmed, but the interest alone is noteworthy.

If a deal with AMC becomes reality, it would be a massive upgrade for TNA. The move would more than double the number of homes currently able to access the product compared to its reach on AXS TV and TNA+. It would also mark AMC’s first real step into the pro wrestling world, though the network was briefly linked to WWE back in 2014 during a swirl of merger rumors that ultimately went nowhere.

For now, the wrestling industry is left waiting—much like TNA’s roster and fans—to see which network ultimately plants its flag on the promotion’s next chapter.
