Update On WWE Reportedly Doing Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg, Lesnar WrestleMania Plans

Image result for Goldberg vs Lesnar Survivor Series 2016

Bill Goldberg’s ESPN SportsCenter interview with Jonathan Coachman came with no announcement on his WWE return last night. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter insists the Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar match is still scheduled for the Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 20th, unless plans have fallen apart. As of Tuesday, the match was considered to be confirmed and locked in. As noted, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also reported this week that his reliable source relayed the same information.

The story is that Vince McMahon has had the match scheduled but has not been very gung-ho about doing it. It was also noted that while WWE is ready to use Goldberg once again, there are still a lot of negative feelings and politics regarding him.

There are several reasons for doing the match at Survivor Series. WWE wants to do the match to help promote the WWE 2K17 video game and Survivor Series is the best option for that plan. Also, future opponents for Lesnar are said to be locked in and apparently one of those opponents is Shane McMahon, perhaps for WrestleMania 33. WWE officials were not willing to change Lesnar’s WrestleMania plans for Goldberg.

Regarding the Lesnar vs. Goldberg match, this is reportedly a one-off that is not leading to any kind of future rematch between the two.

WWE And Susan G. Komen Take Action With The More Than Pink Campaign

WWE issued the following today:

WWE and Susan G. Komen Take Action with the More Than Pink Campaign

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE (NYSE:WWE) and Susan G. Komen® will continue their partnership for the fifth consecutive year by encouraging fans to take action in the fight against breast cancer through Komen’s More Than Pink™ movement. More Than Pink celebrates the heroes who have made a significant impact in the fight to end breast cancer, and encourages everyone to take action, big or small, to help Komen reach its Big Bold Goal: a plan to reduce the nation’s current 40,000 breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent in the next decade.

To support Komen’s Bold Goal and More Than Pink movement, WWE will create PSA’s that will highlight three survivors, Regina Foreman, Angelica Martinez and Kelly Sherman, who not only won their battle against breast cancer but are now taking action to help fight the disease. WWE will utilize its global platforms including WWE Network, TV broadcasts, live events, and digital and social media to generate awareness and encourage action. Throughout the month of October, the WWE entrance ramp, ring skirts and digital signage will be co-branded to promote the fight against breast cancer. WWE Superstars will wear co-branded More Than Pink apparel in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and WWE will donate to Komen 20 percent of all retail sales of the More Than Pink t-shirt sold on WWEShop.com and at WWE live events. Fans will also have the option of donating $1, $5 or $10 upon checkout from WWEShop.com with all proceeds benefiting Komen.

“Our longstanding partnership with WWE has made it possible to fund enhanced research and education – helping countless people battling breast cancer worldwide,” says Susan G. Komen President and CEO Dr. Judy Salerno. “Their continued support in reaching the masses with word of our Bold Goal and More Than Pink movement puts us one step closer in reaching our vision of a world without breast cancer.”

“Susan G. Komen has been instrumental in supporting breast cancer research and awareness while working towards finding a cure,” said WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon. “WWE is proud of our long-term partnership with Susan G. Komen and is fully committed to utilizing our global platforms to help Komen achieve its ‘Big Bold Goal’ of reducing current breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent in the next decade.”

This year, WWE Superstar John Cena has been named as one of Komen’s “The List,” comprised of More Than Pink Heroes, who are all committed to finding the cures. The More Than Pink movement continues the history of success between Komen and WWE in raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. The partnership launched in 2012 with the successful “Rise Above Cancer” campaign, and to-date, has raised nearly $2 million for breast cancer research, education and screening. Tough Enough Season 6 winner Sara Lee has been released from her WWE contract.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Sara received the news on Friday, but there’s no word at this point on why she was cut from the company.

Lee beat out 7 other women last year to earn a $250,000 contract. She debuted at an NXT live event in March, but hasn’t been used much since.

Runner-up Mandy Rose, who the trainers clearly wanted to win, was instantly signed to a deal and given a role on Total Divas. She’s since made multiple appearances on NXT programming.

All eyes are now on The Yeti to make the most recent season of Tough Enough mean something.

The photo below has been floating on social media, with Sara revealing today that herself and NXT star Wesley Blake are expecting a child.

Is Dolph Ziggler Leaving WWE?

Source: WrestlingNewsCo

Flair said that he doesn’t want to let the cat out of the bag but he thinks that WWE wants Ziggler to work in the office. I presume that Flair means that he would be welcome as a producer/agent. Flair said that Ziggler loves Phoenix (where he resides) so he doesn’t know if that will happen. Flair praised Ziggler for being a nice guy and being so good that he can have a job as long as he wants.

Ziggler has done a pretty good job getting his name outside of WWE. Most fans know that he does stand up comedy on his days off and, during the past few weeks, he’s been appearing in segments for “Kennedy” on the Fox Business Network.

Ziggler will face The Miz on Sunday, October 9 at WWE No Mercy. The pay-per-view will emanate from Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center and will air live on the WWE Network.
