Vince McMahon Is Reportedly Upset With The Undertaker’s Starrcast Appearance

As previously reported, The Undertaker signed a deal and is scheduled to appear at the Starrcast 2 wrestling convention in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 25. The convention falls on the same date as All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing event, and the two are affiliated with one another, but Starrcast is not considered to be an official AEW event.

The news about Taker appearing at Starrcast 2 was apparently a big deal to WWE CEO Vince McMahon and it did not go down well with him, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. He notes that McMahon is under the impression that Starrcast and All Elite Wrestling are directly related to one another, and he’s not happy with the developing situation.

Just days before it was officially announced, AEW announcer and the founder of Starrcast, Conrad Thompson, gave Wrestling Inc. a hint about Undertaker’s upcoming appearance at Starrcast.

“With [a few] exceptions, I got everybody I wanted,” Thompson said. “There will be a lot of star power at Starrcast 2. And I started with – hey, let me make a list of everybody that wasn’t available for the first one for whatever reason, and let me try to book those guys. I was successful in doing so. Hypothetically, if Undertaker were at Starrcast, that would be a pretty big deal, huh?”

In our conversation, Thompson also reiterated that AEW and Starrcast are separate.

“It was a thrill as a wrestling fan to be a part of something so historic [at the rally],” Thompson stated. “No, I don’t work there (AEW) and there’s lots of people saying, ‘Oh, Starrcast is an AEW event.’ No, we’re featuring a ton of AEW talent, but Starrcast is owned by me and it’s an independent thing. There will be a ton of wrestlers from other companies there. It’s the exact same as the first [Starrcast]. It’s sort of the official unofficial – if that makes any sense.”

Meltzer also mentioned that there are still no definite plans for The Undertaker at this year’s WrestleMania, including any set special appearances. A large portion of the WrestleMania card is still in flux and has yet to be established. Even John Cena is reported as not having a determined opponent for this year’s “Show Of Shows”.

Starrcast II will be taking place in Las Vegas from May 23-26 and tickets are now available.

Last night on WWE RAW, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon announced that “The Man” Becky Lynch seen her doctors and was cleared and  Becky apologized to them to end her suspension and get her Title match with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35. But then Vince McMahon came out and suspended Becky for 60 days in-which would mean she will miss WrestleMania. Vince announced that she will be replaced with Charlotte Flair.

Reports are that the plan for the RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 35 is a triple threat match with Ronda defending her title against Becky and Charlotte.

The Revival finally defeated Bobby Roode and Chad Gable to become RAW Tag Team Champions, which you can see below plus some other highlights from last night’s WWE RAW:

AJ Styles Drops Vince McMahon On WWE SmackDown To Begin Interesting New Storyline, WWE Edits Segment

Last night’s Christmas edition of WWE SmackDown closed with a very interesting exchange between Vince McMahon and AJ Styles. You can see video of the segment above.

There’s no word yet on where they’re going with this segment but speculation is that we’ll see a darker side to Styles. The segment ended with The Phenomenal One dropping the WWE Chairman, but only after McMahon slapped Styles in the face.

The backstage segment started with McMahon greeting Styles backstage, which was AJ’s only appearance on this week’s show. This was Vince’s second straight appearance for the blue brand following the “fresh start” that was announced by the McMahon family last week.

WWE made a few edits to the video they released on YouTube, which was missing a few lines from the taped segment that aired on TV tonight. Based on the YouTube video that was released, the exchange went like this:

Vince: I want to know, what’s your name?

AJ: My name?

Vince: I want to know, who are you?

AJ: AJ Styles, The Phenomenal One. Two-time WWE Champ. SmackDown Live… the house that AJ Style built.

Vince: I was thinking about that. If this is the house that AJ Styles built, why aren’t you competing in your house tonight? Why is Daniel Bryan competing in your house tonight? Why is he raising holy hell and you’re back here walking up and down the hallway. I don’t quite get that. See, he’s the new Daniel Bryan. I want to know who the real AJ Styles is. Because, like it or not, we’re a lot alike. You got a black hole in your heart and I know it. But there’s an animal in there, an animal is begging to get out. That animal is eating you alive. You want it to come out, I want to see it. I want to see that animal. Oh yea, I want to see it, AJ. I want to see it, and I’m going to see it.

That is when Vince slapped AJ in the face and the two stared each other down. AJ then fired back and dropped Vince with a right hand. Styles stood over Vince, growling, as officials rushed into the room and Vince barked at them to get AJ out. The video does not show this but a referee asked Vince if he was alright and Vince said he thinks he’s good. SmackDown went off the air with Vince laying on his back, smiling, while looking up at the ceiling.

There were a few more edits made to the video released on YouTube, including Vince commenting on how he has seen WWE Superstars come & go, win their titles and earn their money, only to become complacent and then go home. Vince said he knows that’s not AJ, and that’s when he mentioned that they are alike. Vince also said AJ has a tormented soul, and AJ is afraid to lose control because of what would happen. Vince also said if AJ is harnessing all of this darkness, he will brutalize and terrorize the locker room.

Vince McMahon returned to WWE TV on last night’s RAW from Sacramento and kicked off the show to “shake things up” in the company.

Vince talked about RAW being on the air for 25 years and changing with the times. He said despite his creativity and his vision, he can’t “do it all” all by himself any longer. The WWE Chairman then introduced Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and Shane McMahon.

Stephanie admitted that they haven’t been doing a very good job lately, and that’s why they were here at RAW tonight. She said they haven’t been listening to the fans, and they have let “middle managers” air their grievances, which has suffocated the Superstars. Stephanie said that all ends tonight as a fresh start will begin. Triple H added that the days of absent management are over, and as of now, the four of them will be taking back Monday Night RAW. Shane said the same thing goes for SmackDown because the four of them are responsible for making sure fans have the best possible experience. Stephanie said they will be empowering Superstars and empowering fans, and Triple H said more importantly they will give the fans what they want with fresh faces, new Superstars, new matches and more. Triple H then declared that as of now, the fans are the authority. Vince ended their speech by saying WWE will always be “Then. Now. Forever.” as long as they give the fans more of what they want, and less of what they don’t want.

Michael Cole has been billing tonight’s RAW as “the new era” and a fresh start for the company.

Baron Corbin came out to interrupt the McMahon’s but he was met with many boos from the crowd. This led to the McMahons saying Corbin could get his General Manager job back if he could defeat WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. That match began but Triple H and Shane changed it to a No DQ Handicap Match with Corbin losing to Angle, Apollo Crews and RAW Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode & Chad Gable. Heath Slater was the special referee.

One of the biggest surprises at last night’s WWE TLC pay-per-view was the poor reaction to the Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose Intercontinental title match. In a match that went 24 minutes, Ambrose defeated Rollins clean with the Dirty Deeds. During the match, fans chanted “this is boring” and “Becky.”

The fans were reportedly not the only ones upset with the match. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon “was furious” with it.

Vince McMahon Sells $22 Million Worth Of WWE Stock, How Many Company Shares Does He Have Left?

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon sold 306,000 shares of company stock back on November 30.

WWE made a new SEC filing on Monday and revealed that McMahon sold 306,000 shares of WWE stock for a total of $22,866,523.61.

It’s possible Vince unloaded the stock to help finance the XFL launch planned for 2020. Vince sold $100 million worth of stock to launch the Alpha Entertainment company last year as the parent company of the league, and he has reportedly told people that he expects to spend an estimated $500 million in the first three years of operations. The league is scheduled to officially announce the 8 host cities & venues for the inaugural season on Wednesday.

Vince still owns 31,887,375 shares of stock, which would be worth almost $2.4 billion at the current stock price of $73.59 per share.

Backstage Notes On Vince McMahon And WWE SmackDown Live

Image result for Vince McMahon SmackDown

Vince McMahon being at the recent WWE SmackDown 1000 event was rare as the WWE Chairman rarely visits blue brand tapings these days, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Vince is usually back home or in the WWE offices on Tuesday after working RAW the night before. He still participates in SmackDown conference calls and oversees the script, and makes changes, but he’s no longer backstage each week. SmackDown is still very much Vince’s show and the others left in charge still follow his directions.

It will be interesting to see if Vince starts attending SmackDown TV events in October 2019 when the show moves from the USA Network to Fox on Friday nights. It’s been reported that Fox officials want the show to have more of a sports direction, which could bring a conflict as Vince is more into the comedy presentation with wrestling. It will also be interesting to see how Vince’s backstage WWE duties change when the XFL re-launches in 2020. Vince has previously stated that the XFL will not take away from his WWE responsibilities.
