A moment of Refelction: Rousey vs Holm from Vanessa Vasquez

You know those moments that don’t feel real? and it feels as if time has stood still.?November 14th 2015 was just that for me.

Anyone who has followed this site for nearly 3 years knows that I have been Team Rousey through and through. I also know that she’s one of the most polarizing athletes to ever walk the face of this earth. Love her or hate her there is no denying that she has broken down barriers. She has changed the face of MMA as we know it.

Every time she has stepped into the octagon history was made. Even when being on the losing end of things she was a part of history.

To be quite honest seeing her bloody and beaten broke me. It hurt as I type this it still hurts. I would always joke and say the day we see Ronda loose would be the day we whiteness the apocalypse. I honestly never thought I would NEVER be typing something like this but here we are.

I don’t know what’s next but all I do know is that this one lost does not define the incredible athlete she is or the incredible person she is (yep I just said that.) if I’m being serious here it breaks my heart to see the MMA community rejoice in her lost because let’s be real WMMA wouldn’t be where it is right now if it wasn’t for Ronda Rousey

So yes say what you may but there is no denying that she’s changed the way women are looked at in sports. There’s no denying that she’s one and if not the greatest thing to happen to MMA
Further more I know she’ll be back to hopefully give us one of the most anticipated rematches in the history of the UFC. Anyone who knows me knows me knows that I believe Loyalty is everything and I’ll tell you once a Rousey fan always a Rousey fan.
I sincerely hope Rousey is ok mentally and health wise and to our new champion Holy Holm congrats and I hope you’re ready for this whirl wind.

Holly Holm ends Ronda Rousey’s undefeated streak via KO

On November 14th 2015 at UFC193 Holly Holm signal handedly did the unthinkable. She did the one thing that 12 other women (15 if you count amateur career) couldn’t do and that was dethrone  the undefeated Ronda Rousey
In what some are calling the biggest upset in UFC history Holy Holm stopped Ronda Rousey with a vicious TKO in the second round.

This left the 78,000 fans in attendance at Melbourne Australia in complete shock. Some cheered while others cried. One thing is forsure though, November 14th will be a day many won’t forget. It’s proof that anything can happen in MMA.

In the post fight press conference Dana White said Rousey was transported to the nearest hospital, as far as the newly crowned champion Holly Holm a rematch with Ronda Rousey seems to be the only thing that makes sense and Dana White agrees.

Rousey who is now (12-1) previously said that she wanted to disappear after this fight so it’ll be interesting to see what happens next. As far as Holm goes she is now (10-0) and now has the biggest target on her back.

Regardless of what side you were on the landscape of the bantamweight division has changed forever.
