Recent NXT Signees Make Debut Appearances At Full Sail TV Taping (PHOTOS)

Trevor Lee and Shane Strickland — who recently signed with WWE — made their first appearances on Wednesday night at an NXT TV taping.

The two wrestlers faced-off against each other this evening in Florida, with Trevor Lee picking up the win. Unfortunately, fans in attendance seem to think it was likely a dark match.

As you may recall, Lee’s signing was announced in February with wrestlers like Jonah Rock and Elliot Sexton. Strickland’s WWE arrival was made official earlier this month.

It’s official! Former Impact Wrestling star Trevor Lee has announced he signed a WWE contract.

Lee announced the news Friday night in North Carolina following the main event of a CWF Mid-Atlantic show while addressing rumors about his future.

“This week I was no longer a free agent,” Trevor explained. “Because I signed a contract to the WWE.”

As you may recall, Lee parted with Impact Wrestling in November after a 4-year run with the company. It was heavily rumored that he left to pursue a job with WWE.

The new signee told the CWF Mid-Atlantic audience that he’d stay with the company until losing their top title, and would next defend the belt in a six-pack scramble on February 2.

Trevor Lee, one of the youngest X Division Champions in Impact Wrestling history, is now a free agent according to PWInsider.

Lee gave Impact Wrestling notice he would be finishing up, although his deal officially expires on December 31. He worked his last few bouts with the company during this week’s Las Vegas TV tapings.

It is being reported WWE will be looking to pick him up for its NXT system, possibly in January when the latest Performance Center class arrives.

Debuting for Impact in 2015, Lee, 25, became a three-time X Division Champion.

He also won the Tag Team Titles with Brian Myers, aka Curt Hawkins. Along with Andrew Everett and Caleb Conley, the Cult of Lee became a premier tag team while at Impact. Outside of the promotion, Lee was a featured member of the Carolina independent scene, the Hardy’s OMEGA organization and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
