Backstage News On Sting’s WWE Debut At Survivor Series

Earlier in the weekend the plan was to do a unveiling type promo for Sting but obviously plans changed. WWE brought Sting in right now to give WWE 2K15 a promotional boost but also to play a big part in their Survivor Series strategy. WWE wanted to use the “free” pay-per-view to new WWE Network subscribers to drill home that anything can happen with the WWE Network and anyone can show up.

Sting to appear at Survivor Series?

20141122-114747.jpg

It is being reported on various wrestling sites that sting will make an appearance at WWE’s Survivor Series tomorrow night. This news has gotten many people talking and one has to assume with the rumor being heavily reported the “WWE network” subscriber numbers should be sky rocketing. Especially since the month of November is free with no commitment plan.

If these rumors are true and we do see the LEGAND that is sting appear at one of the WWE’s biggest PPV’s of the year we have to ask ourselves what kind of roll will he play? Maybe he’ll be there to make sure the authority is out of power for good? Or perhaps the complete opposite?

It should be noted though that there is talks of pairing him up with the “cerebral assassin” Triple H because officials believe HHH has what it takes to work at Sting’s pace in the ring further more putting him over while making it believable.

So does this mean we’ll eventually get HHH vs Sting at Wrestlemania 31? If that’s the case I’m sure it’ll be a barn burner and a moment we’ll be taking about for ages.

I’m sure all these questions and more will be answered very soon, so stay excited and STAY TUNED!!

AJ Lee to leave WWE after Survivor Series??

20141116-190312.jpg

It’s that time again to fumble around the rumor mill. This weeks rumor involves WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee. it was reported earlier by wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez that the word going around is that if AJ does indeed drop her title to Nikki Bella at Survivor Series she may exit the company. This rumor was also reported on JR’s podcast “The Ross report” (Read the original report here) http://wrestlingnews.co/report-aj-lee-may-be-leaving-wwe-after-survivor-series/)

AJ who started “officially” with WWE in 2010 as a diva hopeful on the 3rd season of NXT. Since then she has been a 3 time divas champion (one of which was the longest regin of all time), Raw’s general manager, she dropped what some call the “best promo from a diva ever”, she’s had multiple on screen love interest with some of the biggest stars in the business and main evented multiple Raw’s. With all that in mind one must ask the question what is left for her to do?

As a former fan myself I say this with no disrespect, I think that if she does indeed leave it’ll force WWE to focus on other women on the roster and even perhaps call up some new blood from NXT. Truly AJ hanging it up would be more of a help then a hindrance.

We must also take into consideration that she is married to former WWE superstar CM Punk and it wouldn’t surprise me if she wants to focus on just her married life. Not to mention this isn’t the first time the rumor mill has come up with the subject of AJ leaving.

So will AJ Lee truly hang up her chuck Taylor’s or will she be around for awhile? Will we see a new Divas champ at survivor series? All this and more will be answered in the future.

STAY TUNED!

Ed’s Perspective: A Look Back At The Survivor Series

Just moments ago, I put up a post taken from WWE.com, that had a list of 15 great Survivor Series teams. The names on the list are like a Who’s Who list of WWE Superstars over the last quarter of a century.

JBL, Batista, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Jake Roberts, Jim Duggan, Brutus Beefcake, Ahmed Johnson, Sycho Sid, British Bulldog, Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy , Eddie Guerrero, Lex Luger, The Steiner Bros, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Demolition,Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Hardys, Ultimate Warrior,  & The Legion of Doom.

That doesn’t even mention current Superstars still in the WWE or around the business: The Undertaker, Kane, Chris Jericho, John Cena, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton,  Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Christian, Big Show,& RVD.

That by no means is a complete list and is just comprised from the list of 15 great teams in that one WWE.com article. Dozens more could and should make the list. Check out this post: PHOTOS: A LOOK BACK AT SURVIVOR SERIES. You talk about memories – this is the proverbial walk down memory lane with 199 photos from Survivor Series past.

Survivor Series is always fun and full of surprises. You can even do your own version of “Fantasy” Sports by putting together your own “perfect” teams from the past, the present or a mixture. This article has: 10 SUPERSTARS PICK THEIR SURVIVOR SERIES DREAM TEAMS.

Oh yeah as I finish this up, I voted in the the poll I mentioned at the very beginning of this article. I must be too old school, because the team I voted for only had 1% of the vote out of 17,120 votes submitted at that time. If you would like a hint at who I voted for, check out the picture at the top of the post, and remember that was Ed the fan, not Ed the journalist doing the voting.

WWE.com Poll: Which team is the most impressive Survivor Series squad in history?

Thanks to the endlessly fun format of the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match, the WWE Universe has witnessed the teaming of unlikely allies, the forging of new partnerships and the combining of singular talents that, under normal circumstances, would have no reason to team together. WWE fans have seen dream teams come into reality and, on occasion, the implosion of presumably unbeatable four- and five-man squads.

Through it all — the 25 Survivor Series events and dozens of Traditional Elimination Tag Team Matches — some groups have simply stood out above the rest. Whether it was due to their unique, never-before-seen lineups or their superbly impressive performances, these 15 Survivor Series squads are worth celebrating.

But don’t take our word for it. Take to the official WWE.com poll and add your voice to the conversation by voting for your all-time favorite Survivor Series team! (VOTE | VIDEO PLAYLIST)
