Jimmy Snuka — Victorious In Court Battle … Homicide Charges Dropped

More than a year ago WWE legend Jimmy Snuka was charged with the 33-year-old murder of girlfriend Nancy Argentino … but as of today, the charges have been dropped.

The Morning Call reports that a Lehigh County, Pennsylvania judge dismissed the charges of third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in a closed-door hearing today in Allentown.

The decision comes after Snuka’s attorney Robert Kirwin filed a motion for dismissal following the ruling that Snuka was found to be incompetent to stand trial.

Kirwin commented on the judge’s decision saying, “It was time for there to be closure. The medical evidence showed that he was not getting better, and in fact he’s getting worse.”  Furthermore, it was revealed in court last month that Snuka may only have six months to live.

As you may recall, Argentino died in 1983 and her case was reopened in 2013.  Snuka was arrested for her death in September of 2015. The District Attorney’s office says they are presently considering what their next move is.

Jimmy Snuka May Only Have Six Months Left To Live

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Jimmy Snuka‘s health has taken a turn for the worst … and it was revealed in court today that he may only have six months left to live.

According to reporter Sarah Cassi, who was in court, Snuka skype’d in via tablet due to his health worsening after a trip to the ER this week.

The 73-year-old was apparently hospitalized after suffering hysteria and delusions. His wife also said he tries to leave the house, thinks he’s going to wrestle and then gets mad when he can’t leave.

Prosecutors were told by Snuka’s doctor that he’s become terminal and may die in the next six months.

No ruling was made today as to his competency in the murder case this whole thing centers around. The judge, however, requested records of the ex-wrestler’s treatments for the past 6 months.

Jimmy Snuka Declared Not Competent To Stand Trial

Source: WrestlingINC

A judge in Lehigh Valley, PA ruled today that WWE Legend Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka is not competent to stand trial in the 1983 death of then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino.

A new hearing will be held in 6 months to re-evaluate competency but Snuka’s lawyers argued that his condition won’t be any better. We will have more details soon but here is the scoop from local reporter Sarah Cassi:

Jimmy Snuka Has Dementia, May Not Be Able To Stand Trial

William E. Moore, the attorney representing WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka told the Allentown Morning Call that he sees the likelihood of Snuka being able to stand trial doubtful.

Moore said Snuka was wheelchair-bound and hooked up to a feeding tube when he surrendered into custody. He said Snuka is not in good shape physically or mentally and that he’s not sure Snuka realized what was going on.

Moore said Snuka is suffering from partial dementia stemming from numerous concussions. He said Snuka has limited recall/long-term memory, if you put him up against a sharp prosecutor asking him to remember 30 years ago he would have no recollection.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 21st, but that may be delayed because Moore is unable to represent Snuka at trial due to a prior commitment.

Jimmy Snuka Arrested For Murder

WWE Hall of Famer “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka has been arrested for the 1983 murder of his then girlfriend Nancy Argentinto. Snuka is being charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter according to Lehigh County authorities.

Snuka was arrested this morning in New Jersey and arraigned at about 1:50 p.m. He is currently in county jail under a $100,000 bail.

According to Sarah Cassi of LehighVallyLive, Snuka is believed to be posting $10,000 bond on a $100,000 bail right now, with the surrender of his passport as a condition of his release. With Snuka undergoing cancer treatment, it was felt that incarcerating him would be an undue financial burden on taxpayers. The district attorney noted that they cited Snuka’s inaction in getting Argentino medical attention for her head injury.
