WWE Starrcade Results 12/1/19

Last night WWE Starrcade 2019 took place at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Only some of the matches aired live on the WWE Network (and YouTube). It should also be noted there were several reported issues with the WWE Network, everything from audio issues to people not being able to see the event at all.

Below are the results of what aired on the WWE Network:

* The Street Profits (with Ric Flair) defeated The O.C.

* The Kabuki Warriors (c) defeated Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks, and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match)

* Bobby Lashley (with Lana) defeated Rusev via forfeit (Last Man Standing Match)

* Bobby Lashley (with Lana) defeated Kevin Owens via DQ

Here are the results for the matches that they didn’t air on the network:

* Seth Rollins defeated Erick Rowan

* Shinsuke Nakamura (c) (with Sami Zayn) defeated The Miz (WWE Intercontinental Championship Match)

* Randy Orton defeated AJ Styles

* Aleister Black defeated Andrade w/Zelina Vega

Zelina called Black’s victory a fluke and then called for another opponent. Ricochet answered.

* Ricochet defeated Andrade w/Zelina Vega (Ricochet won in about 90 seconds)

* Roman Reigns defeated King Corbin

* “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (c) defeated Braun Strowman (WWE Universal Championship Match)

Wyatt retained in the shortest cage match ever. Afterward, Anderson and Gallows came out and said the fans and Strowman suck. Strowman slammed Anderson.

WWE Starrcade Full Results 2018

Dean Ambrose Seth Rollins Starrcade

The event, effectively a glorified house show with a stellar name, was taped Saturday night at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. WWE aired part of it last night as a WWE Network special.

Here are the full results, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer.

The show began with Elias’ advertised concert, where he was joined by special guest Ric Flair. Flair was said to have made eyes for most of the women in the front row, which will probably be left out of the Network broadcast. The skit ended with the eight women scheduled for a tag match coming to the ring.

Sasha Banks, Bayley, Ember Moon & Dana Brooke got the better of Nia Jax, Tamina, Alicia Fox, & Mickie James in a short contest, ending with Banks making Fox tap to her Banks Statement. As tends to be the case on house shows, Bayley received a reaction in contrast to her usual television reception.

A super popular Finn Bálor fell to Drew McIntyre‘s Claymore in a supposedly decent effort. Dolph Ziggler was also there, of course.

The B-Team went over The Revival in the night’s first toilet break, before The Barconquered The New Day to keep their grip on the SmackDown Tag Team titles.

An open challenge by an opponent-less Baron Corbin was answered by Bray Wyatt, who beat him in short order. It’s Wyatt’s first match for the company since September.

Charlotte Flair overcame Asuka in a repeat of their WrestleMania outing. Charlotte, who viciously assaulted Ronda Rousey at last week’s Survivor Series, hugged Asuka after the match like a true babyface. What are they doing?

Apparently continuity applies in Rey Mysterio‘s world, as he appeared on Miz TV wearing a neck brace to sell his attack at the hands of Randy Orton on SmackDown. Shinsuke Nakamura got in Rey’s face whilst waxed lyrical about the WCW talent who made Starrcade special to him. Obviously the pair then had a match, which ended in a DQ after The Miz intervened on the US Champ’s behalf.

Good ol’ Rusev came to Rey’s rescue, with a tag match emerging out of the mess. Mysterio and his new partner quickly vanquished Miz and Nakamura.

In the first steel cage match of the night, AJ Styles once more put Samoa Joe in his place. The cage was used again as IC Champion Seth Rollins escaped to defeat bitter rival Dean Ambrose. Apparently, the match was the highlight of the evening, which bodes well for their feud.

Ric’s daughter Charlotte Flair is scheduled to wrestle Natalya in a cage match for the SmackDownWomen’s Championship, so it seems safe to assume he’ll accompany her to the ring.

WWE Brings Back Tony Schiavone and The WCW Control Center To Hype Starrcade

Image result for WWE brings back Tony Schiavone and the WCW Control Center to hype Starrcade

It’s not just Dusty Rhodes concepts and brand names WWE is mining from their Jim Crockett Promotions archive. Looks like they’ve also enlisted longtime JCP/WCW announcer Tony Schiavone to promote the Nov. 25 Starrcade event in Greensboro, North Carolina. As far as we know, it’s still just a loaded house show, but that hasn’t prevented them from pulling out some pretty cool stops to sell this bad boy.

Here’s Schiavone delivering an old school WCW “Control Center” rundown of the card:

  • Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Steel Cage match for the WWE title
  • Natalya (c) vs. Charlotte Flair in a Steel Cage match for the SmackDown Women’s championship
  • AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin (c) vs. Rusev in a Triple Threat for the United States title
  • The New Day vs. The Usos (c) in a Texas Tornado match for the SmackDown Tag Team championship
  • Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens
  • Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • Breezango vs Aiden English & Mike Kanellis w/ Maria Kanellis
  • The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express vs. Gallows & Anderson

Also scheduled to appear: The Hardy Boyz, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express

WWE Starrcade Live Event Update

Image result for WWE Starrcade

There has been Twitter exchanges between Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and WWE Hall of Famers The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express this week. The RAW tag team issued a challenge to Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson for a match at the November 25th WWE Starrcade live event in Greensboro, North Carolina from the Greensboro Coliseum.

Morton & Gibson were previously advertised to appear at the show. PWInsider now reports that the match is scheduled to happen. WWE has not confirmed the match but they have re-tweeted the comments between the two teams.

There’s been a lot of speculation on the Starrcade event airing on the WWE Network but word as of today is that the show will just be a “jazzed up” non-televised live event. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at 10am EST via Ticketmaster.

WWE announced today that Tyler Breeze & Fandango vs. Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis) & Aiden English will also take place at the event.
