Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA hosted a wrestling night last weekend fro their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. WWE Hall of Famers Jerry “The King” Lawler and Ric Flair made a appearance. Replica title belts were given to the first 3,000 fans. Above is a video of Lawler wrestling a local wrestler, Maverick at the game on a balcony.
Ric Flair was admitted to a hospital in Georgia last week to undergo some minor surgeries. Flair is expected to be released from the hospital today. Jim Ross posted the following update on Flair in his latest jrsbarbq.com blog:
“I’m told that Ric Flair is doing well and is upbeat that he will hopefully leave the hospital soon after surgery to address an appendix issue and to repair a hernia.”

Last night on RAW before the main event, WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena met Ric Flair on the stage & let him raise the World Heavyweight Title belt( the big gold one) in the air. Cena then told Flair to keep it & Flair left with it.
There is speculation that WWE has retired the World Heavyweight Title belt.
Since Randy Orton became the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion, WWE has persisted with the champ carrying around two belts.
It hasn’t been confirmed if WWE has retired the belt. WWE has made no mention of the belt’s status.

PWInsider has confirmed the report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ric Flair is scheduled to undergo WWE medical testing so that he can be brought back as a regular character on TV. Word going around is that Flair will be put with The Miz again. Before Flair can be brought back he must pass all of WWE’s necessary test.
