WWE officials are interested in signing Impact Wrestling star Killer Kross, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

No word yet on if WWE has put feelers out to Kross but they are interested in the 33 year old because of his size and look. Kross stands at 6 foot 4 inches and weighs in at 265 pounds. It was noted that New Japan Pro Wrestling also has interest in signing the big man.

Kross started with Lucha Underground in 2015 and recently debuted as The White Rabbit. He began working with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in 2017 and made his Impact debut earlier this summer. Kross, who won the Rising Star Award at the 2018 Cauliflower Alley Club ceremony, is currently involved in a stable with Moose and Impact World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries.

ROH – NJPW Madison Square Garden Show Is Sold Out (4/6/19)

Tickets for the ROH – NJPW G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden went on sale Wednesday for HonorClub members. ROH COO Joe Koff revealed that tickets were already 60% sold out that day.

“We are currently 60% sold with general public for sale on Friday,” said Koff in a statement to POST Wrestling.

A WWE sellout at MSG is usually around 15,000 fans for a live event, which is also what ROH has configured for this event, so they had sold around 9,000 to HonorClub members. The remaining tickets went on sale to the general public at 10am ET earlier today and ROH has already sold out the show for April 6. Tickets originally ranged from $30-$300, and those already on the secondary market are going for $90-$1000.

Until this event, WWE had successfully prevented any other wrestling companies from booking the arena. G1 Supercard will be the first non-WWE wrestling event since the formation of WWE in 1963 as the WWWF. Before that, the NWA Capitol Wrestling Corporation would exclusively run the Garden, however that was still owned by Vince McMahon Sr. (and Joseph “Toots” Mondt) and was the precursor to the WWWF. Before that, you’d have to go to 1957 when Manhattan Wrestling Enterprises stopped running the Garden, which was owned by Mondt.

WCW did hold an event at the Paramount Theater (now called the Hulu Theater) in 1996, which is a 5,000 seat facility located beneath the Madison Square Garden arena, but not at the arena itself. WWE issued a statement last month regarding Madison Square Garden working with ROH, stating, “MSG is, of course, free to work with ROH however they want.”

The tournament runs from July 14 until August 12 with the winner receiving an opportunity to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 13. For details on all the participants, blocks, and key matches click here. Tomorrow’s A Block match-ups are:

* Michael Elgin vs. EVIL
* Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Minoru Suzuki

Among all the talk of Rey Mysterio potentially headed to WWE, it looks like he’ll be returning to NJPW for a match at the G1 Climax final show on August 12 against an unnamed opponent. Mysterio made his debut with the promotion in June at Dominion where Marty Scurll, Hangman Page, and Cody defeated Rey Mysterio, Jushin Thunder Liger, and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

ROH And NJPW Announce Madison Square Garden Event

ring of honor madison square garden new japan njpw

Madison Square Garden has famously been WWE‘s home territory for decades, but now that’s changing — as ROH and NJPW have announced an event at MSG in 2019.

Ring of Honor’s website states, “ROH and NJPW are proud to announce that on April 6th, 2019, the companies will join forces to present the ultimate wrestling event, “G1 Supercard,” to fans from around the world, LIVE from Madison Square Garden in New York City!”

As you may recall, a Sinclair higher-up revealed the show was in the works last month. ROH COO Joe Koff, however, told PWInsider that the date was pulled after MSG execs spoke with WWE officials.

Koff is quoted in today’s release saying: “This is destined to join a long list of historical wrestling moments and where better to hold it than at Madison Square Garden. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve as a company and am very appreciative of how great our relationship with New Japan Pro-Wrestling has become. However, none of this would be possible without our fans, who are truly the best in the world. Madison Square Garden would not be possible without them and for that I am most grateful.”

Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tetsuya Naitoare already confirmed for the event, with more to be announced as the show nears.

Tickets go on sale August 8 for Honor Club members and August 10 for everyone else.
