Nia Jax Returns To WWE Last Night On RAW

Nia Jax is back with WWE after making her return to programming during last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

This week’s edition of RAW saw WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley put her title on the line against Raquel Rodriguez, who was pulled off of the ring apron by the returning Jax.

This allowed Ripley to get the win, but the Women’s World Champion was attacked by Jax after the match, with the Irresistible Force standing over Ripley to end the show.

Jax was released from WWE in 2021 and made a one-off appearance for WWE during this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Fightful Select is reporting that Jax signed with WWE over a month ago after the company’s hiring freeze concluded in the summer.

Jax is WWE’s first main roster signing since Vince McMahon’s return to the company earlier in January.

Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE is unrelated to Nia’s return, and several people in the company expected to see her sooner.

Nia Jax Returning To WWE?

According to a report from Pwinsider, there has been a lot of talk over the past few days that Nia Jax will soon be returning to WWE.

While there is no word on whether Jax was backstage at Monday’s RAW TV tapings, several different sources have stated that they’ve heard her name being mentioned as of late.

One source went as far as to say that there’s already a plan in place for the Women’s Tag Team titles following Sonya Deville’s injury and it may involve Nia Jax.

Additionally, it was noted that there’s a ton of sympathy for Deville as she’s very highly regarded within the company.

The last time we saw Nia Jax on WWE television was during a one-off appearance at the 2023 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Nia Jax Gives Major Update On Her Pro Wrestling Future

Nia Jax has taken to social media to claim that it is “highly unlikely” she will ever wrestle again. The former WWE Superstar was released from the company on November 4 alongside 17 other talents.

The revelation came up after Nia had shared a link that some fans thought hinted at a new name. The link was previously to a fan-made website, NiaJax.com. However, that had been changed to LinaDanene.com, which some felt would be her new name.

Nia Jax took to Twitter to clarify this situation. In her post, she made it clear that a return to the ring isn’t on her mind right now.

Nia wrote:

“Lol! Newsflash…Lina is my real name. It’s not another “ring” name. It’s just MY NAME, the name given to me at birth. Calm TF down trolls. In all fairness, “Opponent Crippler” would be a SOLID front runner if I ever decide to wrestle again. but it’s highly unlikely”

If Nia Jax doesn’t step back into the ring, then her final ever match was against Shayna Baszler on the 9/20/21 episode of Raw. During her career, she was able to hold the Raw Women’s Championship and the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Baszler.

Nia Jax Among Four WWE Stars Released Reportedly Because They Were Unvaccinated

Nia Jax was reportedly released by WWE because she’d refused to be vaccinated. She might not have been the only one.

According to a report following the numerous talent releases by WWE on Thursday, some of the cuts were not made for budgetary reasons. Instead, as many as four different WWE Superstars, including Nia Jax, were released because they were unvaccinated.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast is reporting that possibly four wrestlers were released by WWE because they were not vaccinated. This comes following a report by the New York Post: “A source with knowledge of WWE’s operations told The Post that one of the reasons Nia Jax, a former WWE Raw Women’s Champion, was released is that she is unvaccinated.” The names of the other three superstars have not been released and at this point, any mention of stars beyond Jax would be pure speculation.

If Jax was refusing to get vaccinated, it may explain why she was off of WWE programming. She was written out of storylines after being attacked by Shayna Baszler in September. She’s not returned since. At the time, WWE wrote, “Nia Jax suffered an elbow posterior fracture and dislocation to her left elbow which will require surgery, and she will be out for an undisclosed amount of time.” The assumption was that this was storyline related and she’d pick up her feud with Baszler at a later date. Her release on Thursday obviously means that won’t be happening.

If the New York Post report is accurate and if Zarian’s follow-up that as many as four wrestlers were let go for this reason is true, one has to wonder if and when others will be released for the same reason. WWE is likely looking to limit potential outbreaks among the roster and this could be a policy that was not made public. If so, will this change the opinions of some who were not being vaccinated but will now have to be to save their jobs?

Ember Moon’s Husband Rips Nia Jax And Calls Her An ‘Unsafe Moron

In just three years as a professional wrestler, Nia Jax has become one of the top names of the women’s division. After a dominant run in NXT, Jax was sent to the main roster, defeating numerous enhancement talent to further her push. Jax worked her way up to becoming a number one contender for the RAW Women’s Championship, competing in a four-way match at WrestleMania 33. Although she was unsuccessful, she was able to win the title a year later at WrestleMania 34 by defeating Alexa Bliss.

Although Jax has been successful during her main roster run, she has been heavily criticized for working unsafely in the ring. Along with matches with Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley which had moments where her opponents could have been severely injured, Jax threw a punch at the go-home show of Survivor Series to Becky Lynch. Lynch was injured from the punch, forcing her to sit out of her match against Ronda Rousey.

Daily Star is reporting that Ember Moon’s husband, indie wrestler Matthew Palmer, had some harsh comments about Jax’s in-ring work. According to the report, the now-deleted text stated, “Hope this unsafe moron doesn’t hurt my wife again.”

Moon came in as a last-minute replacement for Natalya on RAW as a teammate with Ronda Rousey, following Natalya being attacked and powerbombed through a table by the Riott Squad. Rousey and Moon were successful in the match, following an Eclipse on Tamina which set up for Rousey’s armbar submission.

Although the punch from Jax cost Lynch her opportunity to compete against Rousey, WWE has continued to use this careless moment as a way to generate more heat as a heel. Jax was able to win the battle royal at Evolution to become the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship, lastly eliminating Ember Moon. As a result, Jax will be competing for the title at the upcoming TLC event on December 16.
