Penta El Zero Miedo Bids Farewell to Mexico Amid AEW Exit, WWE Rumors Swirl

Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Penta El Zero Miedo has officially made waves outside of AEW following his recent contract expiration. The masked star shocked fans with a surprise appearance in AAA, where he delivered an emotional goodbye to his supporters in Mexico—though he promised a return at some point in the future.

Penta’s departure from AEW marks the end of a five-year journey with Tony Khan’s promotion, but it didn’t come without controversy. The Lucha Brothers—Penta and his brother Rey Fenix—haven’t appeared on AEW programming since August, fueling speculation about backstage tension. Now, with Penta gone and Fenix still under contract due to injury time extensions, their once-dominant AEW run appears fractured.

Fenix, in particular, has been vocal about his frustrations with AEW, recently taking to social media to call out the company for what he described as “inhumane treatment.” He also alleged that AEW ignored his medical needs for months during his recovery. With Penta’s exit and Fenix still embroiled in this tense situation, the brothers’ futures remain a hot topic in the wrestling world.

The intrigue surrounding Penta doesn’t stop there. WWE has reportedly expressed significant interest in signing both Penta and Rey Fenix, adding to the speculation that the Lucha Brothers could be on the verge of joining the global powerhouse. Penta, however, isn’t short on suitors. Multiple promotions are said to have reached out with offers, reflecting his value as both an in-ring performer and an international star.

Penta’s résumé speaks for itself. Before his AEW stint, he made his mark in TNA Wrestling—now Impact Wrestling—where he held the Impact World Championship. His unique blend of charisma, high-flying moves, and hard-hitting style has made him a fan favorite wherever he’s competed.

While Penta bids farewell to AEW and Mexico for now, the wrestling landscape is ripe for his next move. Whether he reunites with his brother under WWE’s banner or explores other opportunities, Penta El Zero Miedo’s future promises to be as exciting as his career thus far.

Stay tuned for updates on where Penta lands next and whether we’ll see the Lucha Brothers dominate a new stage together.

Rey Fenix Calls Out AEW: Concerns Over Medical Treatment

Over the last few years, AEW was often viewed as a haven for wrestlers seeking creative freedom and a fresh start. Many WWE stars flocked to the promotion, praising its management and direction. However, in recent times, cracks in that narrative have begun to surface, with some talent publicly sharing negative experiences. The latest name to express frustration? Rey Fenix.

Rey Fenix, one-half of the Lucha Brothers alongside his brother Penta El Zero Miedo, has seemingly called out AEW’s handling of his medical needs and contract situation. It all stems from a complicated saga surrounding their AEW contracts, which were reportedly extended due to injury time.

On social media, Fenix didn’t hold back, claiming he was subjected to what he described as “inhumane treatment” by AEW. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to shed light on the issue, writing, “I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months.” This pointed statement adds to an ongoing conversation about AEW’s medical protocols, which have been criticized in the past. CM Punk, for example, alleged that AEW failed to cover his medical expenses—an accusation that led to Tony Khan publicly refuting the claim.

The timing of Fenix’s comments has sparked even more speculation. According to Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda, sources within AEW have denied the recent rumors that Tony Khan reacted to news of the Lucha Brothers jumping to WWE. However, Featherstone hinted there’s another reason behind the apparent discontent, which will reportedly come to light soon. Fenix himself responded to this report, commenting, “So far the most accurate comment,” adding further fuel to the fire.

As of now, Fenix remains under contract with AEW, and it’s unclear if his social media posts will lead to disciplinary action. What’s equally puzzling is why Fenix chose to speak out while still tied to the promotion. For a wrestler as respected and talented as Fenix, his frustrations paint a troubling picture of AEW’s backstage operations.

With AEW’s medical policies under scrutiny once again and questions swirling about talent treatment, it’s a situation worth keeping an eye on. Will Fenix’s grievances lead to further fallout within AEW, or will this simply fade away as another chapter in the company’s growing pains? Time will tell.

Rey Fenix Speaks Out Amid Contract Situation as Penta Eyes Free Agency

The future of former AEW International Champion Rey Fenix is at a crossroads as his brother and tag team partner, Pentagon Jr. (Penta El Zero Miedo), moves toward free agency. With Penta’s AEW contract officially expired, speculation is running wild that the fan-favorite luchador is WWE-bound. However, Fenix finds himself in a very different situation as AEW exercised its option to extend his contract due to injury-related absences.

This has created a frustrating scenario for Fenix, who is now contractually tied to AEW while Penta explores new opportunities. Responding to fan comments on social media suggesting he has been mistreated, Fenix didn’t mince words, stating, “I will speak my truth.” Hours later, he fueled speculation with a cryptic follow-up tweet: “No one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment.”

While the full extent of Fenix’s frustration remains unclear, it’s evident that his relationship with AEW has grown strained. AEW President Tony Khan opted to add injury time to Fenix’s contract, ensuring that the high-flying star cannot follow his brother out of the company—at least not until 2025, when his extended deal is set to expire.

Penta’s Next Chapter and WWE Speculation

Pentagon Jr., on the other hand, is reportedly on the brink of a major career move. Rumors have swirled for months that WWE has had plans in place for the former AEW World Tag Team Champion as soon as he became a free agent. If true, it would mark a significant shake-up for both AEW and WWE. The brothers, who debuted together during AEW’s early days in 2019, have long been cornerstones of the promotion’s tag team division, most notably feuding with The Young Bucks and forming the popular Death Triangle faction alongside PAC.

With PAC now part of the Blackpool Combat Club—rebranded as The Deathriders—Death Triangle officially dissolved earlier this year. This breakup coincided with contract issues for both Fenix and Penta, further signaling the end of an era for the once-dominant trio.

What’s Next for Rey Fenix?

Despite Penta’s likely departure, Rey Fenix’s AEW run isn’t over yet. The dynamic luchador remains one of AEW’s most exciting in-ring talents, but his public comments suggest a growing dissatisfaction. Whether this leads to a full-on fallout or a resolution with AEW remains to be seen.

As for Penta, all eyes are on WWE to see if the masked star makes his debut in the coming weeks or months. If WWE does move forward with plans for Penta, it will be interesting to see how they position him in an already stacked roster. For now, fans can only hope that Fenix’s situation resolves amicably and that the legendary Lucha Brothers reunite sooner rather than later—no matter the promotion.

Stay tuned as we keep an eye on both Penta’s potential WWE journey and Rey Fenix’s evolving situation in AEW. Lucha Libre’s favorite brothers may be going their separate ways—for now.

Rey Fenix’s WWE Signing Falls Through Due To AEW Contract Complications

The Lucha Bros are expected to join WWE in the near future, but as of this moment, the former AEW World Tag Team Champions have not signed with the company.

Reports emerged this week that Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix had both agreed to multi-year deals with WWE, but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is reporting that is not the case.

Penta and Fenix are currently under contract with AEW.

Sources within the company tell Fightful that they believe Fenix still has time left on his contract with AEW, making it impossible for him to come to terms with WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Penta is set to join WWE when his contract expires within the next two months.

The report states, “As far as Fenix goes, right now AEW is tacking on injury time which is nearly but not quite one year. Khan made both significant offers to stay but they wouldn’t sign a new deal.”

New Backstage Reports Claim AEW Stars The Lucha Brothers Have Not Yet Signed With WWE

Ever since early August, when it was reported that Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo wouldn’t be renewing their AEW contracts, every sign has indicated that the tag team known as The Lucha Brothers are heading to WWE. On Thursday, it seemed as though the move had been made official when Cory Hays of PWNexus claimed (or seemed to claim) that Penta and Fenix had signed a multi-year main roster deal. That conclusion now appears to be premature, as both Fightful Select and Pro Wrestling Insider are reporting that, while The Lucha Brothers are still probably WWE-bound, they have not yet signed contracts.

Fightful’s report says WWE sources denied the brothers had been signed, with one indicating that Fenix is still under contract to AEW (though AEW sources wouldn’t confirm his contract status). PWI, meanwhile, reports that both Fenix and Penta are still signed to AEW, and that while there’s strong mutual interest between them and WWE, they cannot legally have signed anything yet. Both reports agree that The Lucha Brothers are still expected to sign with WWE, with Fightful noting that neither WWE nor AEW has responded to official inquiries about the two wrestlers.

Hays, for his part, responded to Fightful’s report on Saturday by clarifying his original post, which never technically said the brothers had put pen to paper.

“Yet, as Rey’s contract hasn’t expired yet,” Hays said on X (formerly known as Twitter), quoting Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. “But they have had the conversations and merchandise has been given the green light.” When asked by a commenter when Fenix’s deal was up, Hays replied “This month, and [Tony Khan] isn’t adding injury time to it.”

Penta hasn’t wrestled for AEW since the July 19 episode of “AEW Rampage”; Fenix’s last AEW match was the July 20 episode of “AEW Collision.” Neither man has wrestled anywhere in more than a month.

Report – The Lucha Brothers (Penta & Rey Fenix) Sign With WWE

The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) are headed to WWE.

Following numerous rumors and speculation, the Lucha Brothers have inked long-term contracts with WWE, bypassing NXT and moving directly to the main roster.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Penta has been discussing a potential move to WWE since the summer. Penta emphasized that he and his brother Fenix would only make the transition together, and WWE was eager to accommodate this request.

Cory Hayes of PWN has verified the signing, stating, “Multi-year deal. Directly to main roster.”

WrestleVotes Radio is also reporting that the Lucha Brothers’ signing with WWE is likely a done deal as production of masks, t-shirts, and other promotional materials is already in progress.

The Lucha Brothers have been integral to AEW since their debut on the company’s inaugural show in 2019.

Penta’s AEW contract expired between August and September, and Fenix’s contract was also set to expire this year.

Report – AEW May Extend Contract Of Star With WWE interest

Previous reports suggest The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) are expected to leave AEW for WWE when their contracts expire.

Penta’s AEW contract expires between August and September, while Fenix’s contract expires later this year.

Fightful previously reported that the Lucha Brothers may be interested in joining WWE as a tag team despite being offered a new deal by AEW. The terms AEW offers are similar to what Penta has conveyed that WWE is willing to provide.

According to sources within AEW, there were concerns that the Lucha Brothers did not adhere to proper business practices, which resulted in their departure from the company. Penta’s rejection of the reports is believed to have been a strategic move to facilitate Fenix’s departure from AEW without contractual impediments.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter shared an update on the concern within AEW regarding their right to extend Fenix’s contract for an additional year due to his time off for injuries.

There was speculation about Penta heading to Orlando, FL, leading fans to speculate that he might be heading to the WWE Performance Center despite still being contracted to AEW.

Report: Lucha Brothers Expected To Leave AEW And Sign With WWE, All In Match Canceled

The luchador market could be about to welcome two new free agents, but they might not be free agents for long. According to a report from WrestlePurists, AEW’s Lucha Brothers are not expected to renew their contracts when they expire. As for Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo’s next destination, there is an overwhelming belief within AEW that the two luchadors are WWE-bound.

WrestlingPurists’ Ibou broke the news on their post-SummerSlam livestream and included details about the Lucha Brothers’ immediate plans, especially in regards to AEW’s upcoming All In pay-per-view. The Lucha Brothers were slated for a match alongside fellow Death Triangle member PAC against The Patriarchy for the World Trios Championship at Wembley Stadium. However, according to WrestlePurists, that plan has since been scrapped following news of the Lucha Brothers’ intentions to leave the company; the plan now is reportedly to run a triple threat trios title match involving The Patriarchy, the Bang Bang Gang, and House of Black. This match has yet to be announced in any official capacity, but the three teams have been feuding on AEW programming.

“When the [All In] match got canceled, I asked around internally … multiple sources within AEW told me, basically made it clear to me, that the Lucha Brothers are expected to depart AEW at the end of their contract,” Ibou said. “Some of them speculated that WWE was the destination, others outright said to me that it was a formality.”

Previous reports have indicated WWE has interest in Penta, whose contract is expected to expire within the next two months. While there have been no reports of WWE’s interest towards Fenix, it’s been speculated that Fenix’s injury caused his AEW contract to be extended, and that WWE would sign both Fenix and Penta as a unit.

Lucha Brothers Defeat The Young Bucks For The AAA Tag Team Championship In Mexico

Last night in Mexico at AAA Verano de Escandalo, the Lucha Brothers defeated The Young Bucks and won the AAA World Tag Team Titles.

The Young Bucks back in February defeated Pentagon Jr. and Fenix to win the AAA World Tag Team Titles. They also had retained the titles at last month’s AEW Double or Nothing before losing last night.
