Cena underwent shoulder surgery in early January. The normal recovery time for the surgery is around six months, which would put his return in July, however Cena has been known to return way earlier from surgeries than expected. Cena posted on Twitter this morning that he’s been “putting in twelve hours a day for the past six weeks to try and defy science.”

Cena spoke with FOX Sports at the Daytona 500 yesterday and said that he would make the show if he was physically able.

“As far as me participating in WrestleMania 32, the Magic 8-Ball says ‘ask again later,'” Cena joked. “It would be personally unfortunate for me to miss WrestleMania, but if I can’t perform, it would be unfortunate for the people watching WrestleMania to see me suffer through something that isn’t worthy of the event. I take a very unselfish approach to my job and what I do because people spend their hard-earned money to enjoy what we do, and our goal is to deliver the best show possible. If I can contribute to that, great. If I can’t then, it not helping any of fans … we’ll see how it works.”

Could Undertaker VS John Cena At WrestleMania 32 Still Happen?

Source: PWSlam.com

There has been speculation on plans for Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 32. One of the rumored matches for the show is Braun Strowman against The Undertaker. In the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that as of this writing, nothing is locked in for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.

If John Cena is able to recover in time then the plan is still for him to face Taker at the show. Based on how fast Cena has been able to come back from previous injuries and the fact that this show is going to be their biggest ever, I would not be shocked if Cena was able to come back in time. If Cena is healed enough from his shoulder injury, then they could just have him appear on Raw for 3 to 4 weeks leading up to WrestleMania and just not have him do anything physical until the match happens.

Braun Strowman is being protected so it looks like they do have long-term plans for him. Whether or not it will be against The Undertaker remains to be seen.

John Cena Injury Update

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that John Cena’s injury is believed to be a tron rotator cuff or a torn labrum. Details on Cena’s condition are sketchy, but word is that he wanted to have surgery done as soon as possible. Cena had been having shoulder issues but they were worsened while training.

Normal recovery time could be over 6 months but Cena has been known to return sooner than expected. Cena is expected to miss WrestleMania 32, but they should have a better idea on his return once he begins rehab.

WWE tweeted the following, stating Cena’s surgery was successful along with a photo of Cena in a hospital bed with his doctor by his side, both giving the OK sign:
