WWE Intercontinental Championship Vacated, Sami Zayn Unable To Defend Title

It was announced last night during WWE Backstage that WWE has declared the Intercontinental Championship vacant after Sami Zayn is unable to compete and defend the title.

WWE will hold a tournament to crown a new champion, with bracket to be unveiled and first-round matches starting Friday on SmackDown.

“The Demon” Is Coming For Lashley At WrestleMania 35

Last night on RAW, Finn Balor revealed that he is bringing his alter ego “The Demon” to WrestleMania 35 to face Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental championship.

There had been speculation as to whether or not Balor would bring out the rarely-seen demon to face Lashley at WrestleMania. Now it has been confirmed.

Ziggler Heel Turn, Ambrose Wins Intercontinental Title

It appears that Dolph Ziggler made a heel turn last night on SmackDown Live. After Baron Corbin defeated Ziggler, Corbin got a chair and looked to attack Ziggler, when Kalisto came down and made the save. Ziggler wasn’t very thankful as he nailed Kalisto with a superkick and said he never needed anyone. Later in the locker room he attacked Apollo Crews.

 

In the main event Dean Ambrose defeated The Miz for the Intercontinental Title.

Daniel Bryan Relinquished The WWE Intercontinental Title

Last night on RAW, Daniel Bryan came to the ring thanked the fans and relinquished the WWE Intercontinental Championship due to his ongoing health issues. Bryan said the title deserves to be defended and he is unable to do so.

Bryan said he spent the last two weeks in and out of doctors offices and he requested to come out on RAW to address the fans and to relinquish the title. Bryan said he had a MRI last week and the doctors don’t know how long he will be out of action – it could be weeks, months or he may never be able to wrestle again.

 

Will Daniel Bryan Be Able To Compete At Extreme Rules?

Last night on RAW, Michael Cole and JBL mentioned that the Intercontinental Championship: (C) Daniel Bryan VS Bad News Barrett at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view is in jeopardy due to Bryan’s ongoing health issues.

WWE noted on their website that Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to determine if he’s able to perform. WWE wrote the following:

Daniel Bryan rose above six other Superstars to capture his first Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. However, if the ever-popular “Yes!” Man hopes to hold onto the title, he’ll have to get past the Superstar who lost the championship that day, Bad News Barrett, at Extreme Rules. Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to see if he can defend his title at Extreme Rules.

Daniel Bryan Plans On Stealing The Show At WrestleMania 31

Daniel Bryan in a sit-down interview with Michael Cole, talked about his Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match this Sunday at WrestleMania 31. Bryan says the IC Title Ladder Match will steal the show and he believes that he will walk out of WrestleMania 31 with as the IC Champion with 70,000 people chanting “YES!”

Santino Marella In Charge Of This Week’s SmackDown & Announces TLC PPV Match

Santino Marella revealed on Twitter that he will be in charge of this week’s SmackDown & he announces that Luke Harper will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match at the TLC pay-per-view.

Airline Lost Dolph Ziggler’s Luggage Including WWE Intercontinental Title Belt

It appears that United Airlines has lost some of Dolph Ziggler’s luggage including luggage that contained the WWE Intercontinental Title belt. Ziggler tweeted about it:
