WWE Has Not ‘Completely Shut the Door’ on Daniel Bryan?

Source: Bleacher Report

Daniel Bryan formally retired from in-ring competition in February, but WWE fans may not have seen the last of the four-time world champion between the ropes.

WWE Yet to ‘Completely Shut the Door’ on Bryan’s Return to Wrestling

Forbes‘ Anthony DiMoro reported Thursday that WWE is leaving open the possibility Bryan can return:

As of now, WWE is planning to continue the angle of wrestlers calling out Bryan for his retirement and taunting Bryan for not being able to wrestle. WWE knows it’s a hot button topic with fans and will continue to tease a Bryan return. While, at this time, it still remains unlikely that Bryan returns to the ring in the future, WWE has “not completely shut the door on a Daniel Bryan return to the ring”.

Even when he had his farewell on Raw, Bryan’s health situation was somewhat murky.

Dave Meltzer (h/t Wrestling Inc.’s Raj Giri) reported on Wrestling Observer Radio in January that doctors from UCLA gave Bryan the green light to wrestle again. Meltzer added, however, WWE‘s medical team had yet to sign off on Bryan resuming his in-ring career.

During his address to WWE fans on Feb. 8, Bryan discussed what the doctors had told him:

Speculation reached a fever pitch Tuesday night after Talking Smack on the WWE Network when Bryan called The Miz a “coward” for his wrestling style. The Miz responded that Bryan was the coward since he hasn’t stepped back in a ring, be it in WWE or another promotion:

The Miz calling out Bryan like that seemed out of the blue.

The two have had issues, going back to when The Miz was Bryan’s pro mentor on the first season of NXT. And WWE has used retired wrestlers in numerous storylines in the past in order to give a current Superstar more momentum.

With that said, the personal nature of The Miz‘s attack went beyond what is typically seen in WWE programming, especially since Bryan can’t get retribution in the form of a win at a major pay-per-view.

No one would be surprised if Bryan stayed retired following The Miz‘s promo, but it would be a disappointment if their feud didn’t move into the squared circle.

The Miz Completely Loses It In The Face Of GM Daniel Bryan During ‘Talking Smack’ (Video)

Last night’s Talking Smack was probably the most interesting episode yet ending with a fiery promo from the Miz that resulted in Daniel Bryan walking off the set.

The segment began with The Miz coming onto the set and complaining to Bryan about not being on tonight’s SmackDown despite being the Intercontinental Champion. The Miz noted that the IC title was the last one that Bryan held and he wanted to make it relevant again. Bryan said that he had respect for the title, but that he doesn’t respect Miz. When Miz asked why, Bryan said that he hasn’t done anything wrong, but that he and the fans don’t like the way he wrestles.

The Miz brought up his clean victory over Apollo Crews at SummerSlam, but Bryan said that he was still more impressed with Crews. He said that while Crews lost, he told the Miz that he wrestles like a coward and it seems like he’s afraid to get hit. Bryan said back when he was on the indy scene, if he had to create a mold of the stereotypical soft WWE wrestler, The Miz would be it, and said that WWE has transformed since then.

The Miz went on to cut probably the best promo of his career, at Bryan’s expense. Miz said that the reason why he wrestles the way he does is because he can do it every day all the time for 10+ years, and noted that he’s never been injured. Miz got out of his chair and starting laying into Bryan, noting that Bryan promised fans that he would be back to regain the IC title and he didn’t. Bryan said that if WWE would let him come back, he would.

Miz continued harping on Bryan, saying that if he loves wrestling so much he should quit “and go to the indy halls.” He said that while Bryan calls him a coward, he’s the one not wrestling in a WWE ring again. At this point, Bryan took off, as seen in the video above.

Miz finished by yelling at Bryan to not walk away and said that he loves the fans while Bryan walks away every single time.

“You’re the coward!” Miz exclaimed. “I am not a coward. I am your Intercontinental Champion!”

This may be the best segment I’ve seen on WWE television in a while, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

E! SETS PREMIERE DATE FOR NEW SERIES “TOTAL BELLAS”WWE Superstars The Bella Twins(TM), John Cena(R) and Daniel Bryan(R) Move In Under One Roof in New Spin-Off Series Premiering Wednesday, October 5 at 8:00pm ET/PT

LOS ANGELES, CA – June 27, 2016 – Two’s company, three’s a crowd, and these four – are just too much to handle. E! Entertainment exposes the Raw and real lives of WWE(R) Superstars Nikki and Brie Bella when “Total Bellas,” spin-off of E!’s mega-hit series “Total Divas,” premieres Wednesday, October 5 at 8:00pm ET/PT. The six, one-hour episodes will give viewers an exclusive, intimate look into the VIP lives of the Bellas and their fellas, John Cena and Daniel Bryan, as the four distinctly unique and comical personalities coexist under one roof for the first time.

Although these twins share the same genes, they will never share the same jeans as living together was more tolerable when they just shared a womb. The free-spirited, vegan-loving, live-and-let-live lifestyle of Brie and Bryan has always clashed with the fancy panache of the designer handbag-loving Nikki and the meticulously organized tendencies of John. However, when the four world-renowned WWE Superstars move in under one roof, the comical clash of titans rings all throughout the suburbs of Tampa, FL.

The series kicks-off with Nikki and John being sidelined by injuries and Daniel’s recent retirement from the ring. This docu-series will follow the odd-couple relationships of these eccentric WWE Superstars as Brie does her best to nurse, not only Nikki, but John and Daniel back to health, all while trying to retain their sanity. With Nikki’s recent neck surgery, Brie’s retirement at WrestleMania(R), Daniel’s untimely retirement from WWE, and John’s rising profile in Hollywood, fans will get an exclusive beyond-the-ropes glimpse into how these dynamic individuals juggle their reality and prepare for their uncertain futures.

“Total Bellas” is produced by WWE and Bunim/Murray Productions. Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins and Russell Jay are Executive Producers for Bunim/Murray Productions. Kevin Dunn is Executive Producer for WWE. Nikki Bella and Brie Bella also serve as Executive Producers.

A house divided cannot stand… in stilettos. “Total Bellas” premieres Wednesday, October 5 at 8:00pm ET/PT only on E!

Rumors On Daniel Bryan And The WWE Hall Of Fame

Source: WrestlingINC

When Daniel Bryan announced his retirement earlier this month there was immediately talk among fans about how he should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year in Dallas.

For what it’s worth, it was noted on Wrestling Observer Live  by Bryan Alvarez that he heard Bryan could be going in this year with Sting and The Godfather.

It’s very possible WWE saves Bryan’s induction for another year as they may feel Sting is big enough for this year’s class and they could get more out of Bryan going in another year.
