Austin Aries’ Eye Injury Worse Than Initially Expected, Surgery Scheduled

Doctors have determined that the eye injury Austin Aries suffered last week was worse than they initially thought, and now he’s set to go under the knife to fix the problem.

Our sources tell us that even though it didn’t seem to be serious the following day, doctors took a look at the CT scan a few days later and realized surgery would be necessary.

PWInsider first reported yesterday that Aries suffered a large orbital fracture and will be out of action until early 2017. As we previously reported, AA was hit with a superkick gone wrong by Shinsuke Nakamura at an NXT live event and the match had to be stopped early.

We’re told his surgery is scheduled for Thursday, but he’s currently feeling much better.

Austin Aries Evacuated From His Home After Fire Breaks Out Above Condo

WWE NXT star Austin Aries was evacuated from his condo early Wednesday morning after a fire started a few floors above … but Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned his home thankfully wasn’t damaged.

Aries tweeted saying, “Across the street from my condo w/  … a fire ablaze 6 floors above my unit. Respect and gratitude to all you firefighters.”

We’re told there was no damage to the couple’s Florida home, besides water leaking from the ceiling.

His girlfriend/ex-TNA wrestler Rosita — whose father was killed in 2001 during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center — said the experience gave her horrifying memories of 9/11.

Thea explained, “I was scared because of the crazy things I remember from my past, almost as if I was seeing things thru his eyes.”

Austin Aries To Sign With WWE Soon?

Former ROH and TNA Champion Austin Aries was backstage at an NXT TV taping in Florida several months ago but did not sign a WWE contract or appear at the taping. Since then Aries has not been at any of the NXT live events or tapings.

PW Insider reports that Aries is scheduled to be in Pittsburgh this week, and the belief is that he will be undergoing WWE’s medical screening process while in the city. We were told that Aries may have seen the doctor but it’s not this week. The testing snd screening may already be done.

Aries has not signed a WWE contract, but it’s believed that he is in talks with WWE about joining the company. I’m told that the plans for him are to be used on the NXT roster so he can work with younger talent.

Austin Aries Making Return To ROH

Ring of Honor announced today that former TNA and ROH Champion Austin Aries will be returning to ROH at their July 17th event in Las Vegas at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall.

Austin Aries’ TNA contract has expired and he’s done with the company.

Aries gas signed on with The Regime, a Los Angeles based talent management firm representing musicians, athletes and respected artist across all fields of entertainment.
