Vickie Guerrero Is Nyla Rose’s New Manager In AEW

Vickie Guerrero was introduced as the manager of Nyla Rose  on Wednesday night’s “Fight For The Fallen” edition of AEW Dynamite.

When asked, Vickie would not talk about her strategy with Nyla going forward or when she’ll go after the Women’s title again. However, Guerrero did have a message for the women’s division.

“From this moment on, ladies. I am begging you to stop lying to yourselves about how great you are and also admit that you will never be smart enough to cheat to win. And last, but not least, Nyla Rose is going to steal every opportunity you have ever dreamed of,” she said.

AEW Announces “Fight For The Fallen” Charity Initiatives To Support COVID-19 Response

AEW has announced two charity-driven initiatives in conjunction with Fight for the Fallen to help support COVID-19 response in Florida.

The company sent out a press release on Friday which explains:

Leading up to the highly anticipated FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN event this Wednesday, July 15, AEW today announced two charity-driven initiatives to help support northeast Florida’s response to COVID-19.

Funds from both AEW programs will be distributed to Florida’s First Coast Relief Fund and Feeding Northeast Florida, both of which will provide a range of health and well-being services for those struggling during this time. The two organizations are 501(c)(3) not for profits.

In the spirit of FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN, which raised money for the Jacksonville-based Victims Assistance Advisory Council last year, AEW is appealing to fans to donate what they can to Florida’s First Coast Relief Fund and Feeding Northeast Florida at http://www.AEWFightfortheFallen.com.

As part of the overall effort, AEW has designed a limited-edition shirt depicting powerful FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN imagery with a COVID-19 protective face mask at the center of the artwork. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from sales of the shirt, which is available at http://www.ShopAEW.com, will also go to Florida’s First Coast Relief Fund and Feeding Northeast Florida.

In March, the Khan family donated $1 million to various organizations to support northeast
Florida’s response to COVID-19.

“The efforts of the First Coast Relief Fund and Feeding Northeast Florida over the past four months have been truly amazing, but unfortunately the battle against this pandemic continues and that means their work is far from over,” said Tony Khan, President and CEO of All Elite Wrestling. “On behalf of everyone at AEW, and our fans, I thank both groups for their commitment to our home community of Jacksonville and North Florida and hope we can all come together to do what we can to support their mission.”

Fight for the Fallen airs this Wednesday on TNT. The show will feature FTR vs. Lucha Brothers, The Elite vs. Jurassic Express, Cody Rhodes vs. Sonny Kiss and Jon Moxley defending the AEW World title against Brian Cage.

Sammy Guevara Suspended Until Further Notice By AEW Over Resurfaced Rape Comment, Releases Apology Video

Sammy Guevara has been suspended without pay until further notice by AEW over a rape comment he made about Sasha Banks in 2016 that resurfaced on social media.

AEW released the following statement on Monday regarding Sammy’s comment:

AEW insists on doing our part to create a world of understanding and respect for humankind. We therefore strongly condemn the extremely offensive and hurtful words of Sammy Guevara. As such, effective immediately, Sammy is suspended without pay until further notice. Sammy has agreed to undergo extensive sensitivity training and, upon completion, his future status within the company will be re-evaluated.

During his suspension, his salary will be donated to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville.

The audio in question comes from an appearance on The Whole F’n Show’s Raw’s 4th Hour where Guevara talked about a tryout he had taken part in at the Performance Center. In the clip, he says, “Bro, Sasha Banks. Oh my god. When I was at the WWE the other week, I wanted to just go f*ckin’ rape that woman.”

As we previously reported, Sammy has since reached out to Sasha Banks to apologize and the WWE stars they had an open discussion about his words.

Sammy Guevara has released an apology video after being suspended by AEW for resurfaced audio in which he said he wanted to “rape” Sasha Banks.

In the video released on Tuesday, Guevara attempts to explain that he’s grown in the four years since he made the comment. “It just sucks because 2016 me is not me today,” he states. “2020 me would never say those kind of hurtful things that I did in 2016. I used to think it was funny to do some kind of shock humor to pop the room I’m in.”

He goes on to talk about how traveling the world has changed him. “A lot has happened in four years of my life. I know a lot of people think four years is not that much time, but if you look at how much has happened to me in my life, from wrestling in the middle of nowhere in Texas, to wrestling all around the world, to wrestling in different countries, to wresting on TV for AEW. So much has happened to me in four years,” he contends. “One of the things that’s happened is me growing, man, as a person.”

Guevara also confirms he will be attending sensitivity training – per his AEW suspension – and going on a hiatus from social media, as well as his vlog.

AEW says his status with the company will be re-evaluated after completion of his training.

Guevara himself plans on returning to AEW, saying “when I do come back, I will be better.”
