Triple H Confirms A New WWE Draft Is Coming “In A Month Or So”

During an appearance on Impaulsive, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was asked by Logan Paul if the United States Champion could move from SmackDown to RAW when Netflix airs the program in January 2025.

Triple H responded:

“I’m sure we’ll see people float all over places. There’s a thing called, in a month or so, there is a thing called the Draft. That’s when you can switch around and make moves.”

The draft has been a fixture of WWE since 2002, with only occasional breaks including a year away in 2022.

It is unknown when the 2024 WWE Draft will take place as of this writing.

  • Zero Hour: The Beast Mortos def. Blake Christian via Pinfall (Destination Hellhole).

    • Komander & Alex Abrahantes appeared on the ramp after the match, where Komander saluted Mortos.
  • Caprice Coleman had a sit-down interview with Kyle Fletcher ahead of his match against Lee Johnson for the ROH World Television Championship. Fletcher bragged that he was undefeated in ROH and promised to retain the title tonight.
  • Zero Hour: Cole Karter & Griff Garrison (w/ Maria Kanellis-Bennett) def.Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico) (Schoolboy Roll-Up).
    • The finish came when Garrison pulled Serpentico’s mask, allowing Karter to get a roll-up for the win.
  • Zero Hour: Mariah May def. Momo Kohgo via Pinfall (It’s Gonna Be May Knee Strike).
  • Ian Riccaboni & Caprice Coleman welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening contest.
  • ROH Men’s World Television Championship Match: Kyle Fletcher (c) def. Lee Johnson via Pinfall (Brainbustah [Avalanche Turbuckle Brainbuster]).
  • Mei Seira & EXV (Mina Shirakawa & Maika) def. Saya Kamitani, Tam Nakano & AZM.
    • Mariah May appeared after the match and hugged Mina Shirakawa. May popped a bottle of Champagne and had a toast with Maika, Shirakawa & Seira.
  • ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) (c) def. The Infantry (Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo) (w/ Trish Adora) via Pinfall (Arm Across Pin).
    • Wardlow hit a Powerbomb on Shawn Dean while the referee was down. Bennett rolled over to get the pin on the knocked-out Dean for the win.
  • ROH Women’s World Television Championship Tournament – Finals: Billie Starkz def. Queen Aminata via Submission (Sleeper Hold), becomes the first ever ROH Women’s World Television Champion.
  • Billie Starkz turned heel.
  • In the closing moments, Starkz performed a senton from the top rope, but landed awkwardly and immediately informed the referee that something was wrong with her neck. The match was temporarily stopped to check on Starkz, while Aminata stood in the corner looking very concerned. Doctors and ringside physicians got in the ring to help Starkz to her feet, as it seemed like the match was being called off and Aminata would win by default, with Aminata even holding the ring ropes open so Starkz could exit without hurting herself even more.
  • However, Starkz broke free of the doctors and attacked Aminata from behind, delivering a German Suplex, while still wearing a neck brace that was deemed meaningless at that point. Starkz locked in a sleeper hold and choked Aminata out to become the first-ever ROH Women’s World Television Champion, showing no remorse for the underhanded tactics that led to her victory. The 19-year old has been sitting under the learning tree of Athena over the past few months, and it seems like Starkz has found that mean streak her mentor has been looking for.
  • Action Andretti & Top Flight (Darius Martin & Dante Martin) were interviewed backstage ahead of The Martin Brothers facing FTR on the 4/6 edition of AEW Collision, where they promised why they would become one of the best teams to do it.
  • Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Colten Gunn & Austin Gunn) came to the ring to host an open challenge for the ROH Six-Man Titles. Alex Zayne, Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki answered the challenge.
  • ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship Match: Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Colten Gunn & Austin Gunn) (c) def. Minoru Suzuki & MonsterSauce (Lance Archer & Alex Zayne) via Pinfall (Blade Runner).
    • After the match, Jay White called themselves the best Three-Man Team in wrestling, but they were interrupted by The Acclaimed (Billy Gunn, Max Caster & Anthony Bowens). The two teams brawled before White hit the Blade Runner on Bowens. Bullet Club Gold ran out of the ring.
  • Fight Without Honor: Dalton Castle def. Johnny TV (w/ Taya Valkyrie) via Pinfall (Bat-A-Rang).
    • Paul Walter Hauser appeared disguised as one of The Boys to help Dalton Castle. Castle managed to hit the Bat-A-Rang on Johnny TV for the win.
  • ROH Women’s World Championship Match: Athena (c) def. Hikaru Shida via Pinfall (O-Face).
  • ROH World Heavyweight Championship Match: Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Mark Briscoe.

WWE Star Cody Rhodes Says His Tour Bus Caught Fire

In two days, Cody Rhodes will once again challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania. Before he steps onto WWE’s grandest stage, though, Rhodes has revealed some rather scary news.

As announced on X (formerly Twitter), Rhodes’ tour bus, which is currently sponsored by Wheatley American Vodka, unexpectedly caught on fire Thursday evening. Luckily, with the help of the Philadelphia Fire Department, all occupants were safely evacuated. Rhodes was even able to snag two undisclosed items out of his bus as well.

“Before you hear it elsewhere – my tour bus caught fire last night,” Rhodes wrote. “Everybody is safe and okay. The 2 items I grabbed before I got off will probably pop wrestling fans. Again, thank you @PhillyFireDept.”

With his tour bus fire successfully extinguished, Rhodes will now pivot his focus back to the uphill battle that awaits him. 24 hours before facing Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Rhodes will team up with Seth Rollins to take on the pair of Reigns and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the main event of night one of WrestleMania 40. Should Rhodes and Rollins secure the win, The Bloodline members will be barred from night two’s title match. However, if Reigns and The Rock emerge victorious, night two’s title match will be contested under Bloodline Rules, where interference from The Bloodline isn’t just encouraged, but guaranteed.

WWE’s WrestleMania 40 premium live event will emanate from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with night one taking place on April 6, and night two on April 7.

Backstage News On Special Entrance Planned For Rhea Ripley At WWE WrestleMania 40

WrestleMania season means WWE will be bringing its A-game when it comes to the pomp and circumstance that usually surround “The Showcase of the Immortals.” One area that often gets a massive upscale is entrances, especially for popular champions like WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.

PWInsider Elite is reporting that metalcore band Motionless In White is in Philadelphia for WrestleMania 40 weekend, likely set to play Ripley’s theme song “Demon In Your Dreams” — for which Chris Motionless provided the vocals — before Ripley’s match against “The Man” Becky Lynch on Night 1 of the two-night event. Ripley told Wrestling Inc. in an exclusive interview at last year’s WrestleMania that she was attempting to set up such a performance in the future; the band was unable to appear at WrestleMania 39 because they were in Germany at the time.

It was at WrestleMania 39 that Ripley won what is now the Women’s World Championship, dethroning Lynch’s Four Horsewomen comrade, Charlotte Flair. She has now held the title for a full year, but she’ll need all the motivation she can get, as she’s not only facing a tough former champion in Lynch, but also entering WrestleMania with wrist issues and other lingering problems that come with an active schedule like hers. Ripley is also keeping an eye on more than just Lynch, as she’s been paying attention to WWE’s latest signing Jade Cargill and is so far impressed with the former AEW TBS Champion’s progress. Ripley even said she’d like to step in the ring with Cargill somewhere down the line.

WWE Star Sami Zayn To Perform Live Standup Show At Upcoming Netflix Comedy Festival

WWE star Sami Zayn is a man of many talents. He’s one of the most popular wrestlers in recent memory, has countless matches that could be considered all-time classics, and this May, he will be able to strut his stuff at one of the biggest comedy festivals in the world. The annual “Netflix Is a Joke” comedy festival has become one of the marquee events in the stand-up calendar, as comedians and entertainers from far and wide flock to Los Angeles for 12 days of non-stop laughter. Joining comedy giants like Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Burr, Kevin Hart and more will be the former Intercontinental Champion, who announced on his X account that he will be hosting the “Sami Zayn & Friends” show during the festival. The show will take place at the historic Avalon Hollywood nightclub in Los Angeles on May 11, with tickets going on general sale April 5.

Fans who have followed Zayn’s career for a long time will know full well what comedic chops he has due to his portrayal of the El Generico character in companies like ROH, DDT, and PWG, where despite being French-Canadian, he played the role of a friendly luchador who decided to head back to Mexico to run an orphanage around the same time Zayn signed with WWE.

Zayn will be hoping that he shows up to his stand-up special on May 11 with the Intercontinental Championship, as he looks to become champion this weekend at WrestleMania 40 when he takes on GUNTHER. Zayn has never beaten “The Ring General” in a one-on-one contest in WWE before, but he will hope to channel the spirit of El Generico this weekend, as the Mexican orphanage owner did pick up a win over the man then known as Big Van WALTER at a wXw event in 2012.
