Last night on SmackDown Live during the semi-final of the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament, American Alpha defeated The Usos quickly. After the match, The Usos shook American Alpha’s hands and then attacked them, giving them a beat down. It appeared that they injured Chad Gable’s leg.

UFC Star Miesha Tate Rescues 6-Year-Old With Broken Arm While Hiking

Source: MSN.com

Most UFC fighters don’t wear capes to the octagon as part of their kits. Miesha Tate might have to start that trend going forward, though.

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was out hiking Sunday when she found a family in need at the top of the mountain. Their six-year-old daughter, Kai, had broken her arm, and the parents were going to have to carry her down the 2.6 mile trail before she could get medical attention.

The girl’s mother was struggling to do so when Tate arrived.

Backstage Updates On The WWE RAW Cruiserweights

WWE has confirmed the following names for the RAW cruiserweight division – Gran Metalik, Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Brian Kendrick, Noam Dar and TJ Perkins.

It appears this is the entire roster, for now at least, as PWInsider reports that the initial division will feature just 10 Superstars. It’s very possible that new cruiserweights will be introduced to the division over time.

The current plan is for the RAW cruiserweights to work RAW TV events as well as WWE NXT TV events and NXT live events. They will likely start working RAW live events soon as well.

The division kicks off on September 19th at RAW in Memphis.

Cody Rhodes To Work For TNA And ROH

Source: WrestlingNews.co

Cody Rhodes will be working for TNA and ROH at the same time, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave Meltzer said that he spoke with Rhodes at PWG’s Battle Of Los Angeles over the weekend.

Rhodes’ deal is unique because wrestlers never work for TNA and ROH at the same time. TNA Wrestlers are allowed to work on the independents but they aren’t allowed to work with a company that has a TV deal. In this case, Rhodes would not be under contract to either company.

He will be working with Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis in TNA and Rhodes’ wife Brandi will be involved in the feud. She did ring announcing for her husband at BOLA. He will be working with several people in ROH but his opponent of choice is Adam Cole. Cody does not have the rights to the “Cody Rhodes” name, he is using it on indy shows but will not be able to use the “Rhodes” name on TV. It’s a shame because the Rhodes name dates back over 50 years. Hopefully, he can work out something with WWE.

Paige’s Future With WWE Is Not Looking Good

Source: WrestlingNews.co

On yesterday morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation with Paige and the report from last week about Paige allegedly being threatened by WWE’s Mark Carano to break off her relationship with Alberto Del Rio or risk being fired.

I noted last week that the story from MSL on his podcast was likely something that was not made up out of thin air and the crew at MLW Radio are friendly with Alberto Del Rio. It doesn’t make the Mark Carrano story true or untrue and it may just be Paige’s side of the story. There’s no way to know if Carrano hinted something to Paige or if he outright said that she would be fired if she didn’t break up with Del Rio but it’s very unusual for the company to step in on someone’s relationship considering that there have been dozens (maybe hundreds) of wrestlers relationships in the past. If Carrano really said something to her directly then that could be a legal issue for WWE.

Meltzer noted that things are looking really negative right now about Paige returning after her suspension and the fact that the story is out probably means that she is done with the company. Paige and WWE would have to work out terms of her release.
