Wrestler’s Comment on the Tragic Passing of Perro Aguayo Jr.

Several wrestlers took to Twitter and Instagram to comment on the horrible tragic passing of El Hijo del Perro Aguayo in Mexico on Friday night. Below are some of the tweets:

Rey Mysterio Commented On Death of Mexican Wrestler

Rey Mysterio commented on the death of Mexican wrestler El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo (Perro Aguayo Jr), who died from injuries suffered in a match with Mysterio.

Father of Mexican wrestler who died Friday night during a match has not been notified yet.

ESPN Deportes in Mexico reports that Mexican wrestling legend Perro Aguayo still has not been informed of his son’s tragic death because he is not in good health and there is concern over how he will take the news.

As noted, Lucha Libre star Hijo del Perro Aguayo passed away after an accident during a match in Tijuana, Mexico on Friday night after a spot with Rey Mysterio. TNA stars Manik and Tigre Uno were also in the match. Aguayo was rushed to a hospital about a block away and then pronounced dead at around 1am local time. His cause of death was reported as a stroke caused by cervical spinal damage and the medical report says he suffered from whiplash, according to MedioTempio.com.

ESPN Deportes also reports that Ignacio Delgado, owner of the indie company CRASH that was promoting the match, said at a press conference that the company will cover all funeral expenses. It sounded like the promotion is doing what it can for Aguayo’s family and the funeral will be held in Guadalajara.

Extras Being Hired For 2 Special WrestleMania 31 Entrances

It’s being reported that WWE has a local casting agency in San Francisco working to cast Russian soldiers and scarecrows at WrestleMania 31. The Russian soldiers obviously are for Rusev and the scarecrows are for Sting or Bray Wyatt, but likely for Sting.

The casting agency is booking both roles and they’re using the same extras for both roles as a way to save money. They’re looking for males between 24 and 33 with no facial hair. The agency is paying the extras $1,100 each total for 3 days.

The extras must be available to train on March 27th and 28th, then perform at WrestleMania on March 29th. The first day will consist of costume fitting and a walk-through for 4 hours. They will do a late night rehearsal after the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday from 11pm – 3am. They will be required to be at Levi’s Stadium all day and evening on Sunday at WrestleMania.

WWE Fans Made To Change Clothes At RAW

A group of fans who were dressed like WWE Legends in the front row of Monday’s RAW in Des Moines, Iowa, was taken from their seats a few minutes into the show by WWE security and made them change their clothes.

Fox Sports reached out for a comment and a WWE spokesperson said the company apologized to the fans for being inconvenienced and offered them free tickets to an upcoming event. The group was apparently told that their outfits were “too distracting” for the broadcast, which is rumored to be a Kevin Dunn pet peeve.

Here is a couple of photos that one of the guys posted on Twitter:

Here is a letter that one of the fans sent to WWE and posted on Reddit:

“As a life-long fan of your product, I was very excited to attend your show last night (Des Moines 3/16/2015). I had secured 10 tickets in the front row at $100 a ticket. By my math that is $1,000 that we paid the WWE to attend your event. The seats were in the front row. Being a huge fan, I made sure to invite 9 other rabid fans and we all made the decision to pay tribute to our favorite wrestlers and dress like them. Within 10 minutes of the show starting, we were told that our outfits were “too distracting” and to change clothes, or we would be moved. I assure you that none of the members of our party were being in any way unruly or belligerent. You can watch the taping and see for yourself. We were merely watching the show. Now, I have heard rumblings in the past of people being booted from their seats for costumes, but I always sided with WWE and assumed that those fans HAD to have done something else to lose their seats, and WWE wouldn’t boot people for simply dressing up. Now I know that they indeed will do that, regardless of how respectful you are. This seems to contradict your “Be a Star” promotion (which ironically enough was running on the screen as we were being scolded by WWE producers) that seem to encourage fanaticism.

I guess at the end of the day, all I am looking for is an explanation as to why you would boot fans who spend the time, energy, and money on advocating your product. Seems like just the kind of people you would want in your corner.

For the record, I am still in your corner, however disappointed I may be.

Thanks for your time, Matt Sheridan

PS – Had we all been dressed as John Cena or Roman Reigns would the outcome have been different? Please advise so I can let the other 9 guys know for future shows.”
