Becky Lynch Absent from Netflix “WWE Raw” Premiere: Backstage Report On Her WWE Status

When Netflix unveiled its highly anticipated trailer for WWE Raw, many fans expected Becky Lynch, prominently featured in the promotional material, to make a dramatic return during the red brand’s official debut on the streaming platform. However, as the night unfolded live from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Lynch was notably absent, leaving fans and even some WWE talents scratching their heads.

No Becky, No Problem?

According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE never actually planned for Lynch to appear during the Netflix premiere of Raw, despite speculation that her segment might have been cut. The outlet clarified that Lynch wasn’t even in Los Angeles on Monday, dispelling rumors of a last-minute cancellation.

Interestingly, other reports claimed that Lynch was initially slotted to appear after the WWE Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. That spot, however, was reportedly reassigned to WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, who shared a memorable post-match moment posing with Ripley.

Lynch’s WWE Future

Though Lynch’s absence may have disappointed fans, the good news is that her WWE future seems secure. Fightful Select reported that Lynch has agreed to a new deal with WWE, though the specifics, including the contract’s duration, remain under wraps.

Her previous deal expired in spring 2024, during which she briefly became a free agent. It’s said WWE faced stiff competition from other suitors offering big money, but Lynch ultimately chose to stay with the company where she has become one of the most recognizable and influential stars.

What’s Next for “The Man”?

Becky Lynch’s return may still be a while off, but her absence hasn’t gone unnoticed. Lynch has not competed since May 27, 2024, where she lost to Liv Morgan in a steel cage match on Raw. However, a report from early January 2025 indicates that her return is expected to play a key role in WWE’s plans for WrestleMania 41. While details of her involvement remain under wraps, the company is reportedly working on “high-level” plans to reintroduce her into the fold in a major way.

The Bigger Picture

Lynch’s absence from the Netflix premiere of Raw may have been disappointing, but it underscores WWE’s evolving approach to storytelling and surprises. With her new deal locked in and major plans reportedly in the works, Becky Lynch’s return will undoubtedly be worth the wait.

Fans should keep their eyes on the road to WrestleMania, as “The Man” is likely to make her mark once again, bringing her signature fire and passion to the grandest stage of them all. Until then, speculation about her comeback will only continue to build.

JBL Teases Bold Plans for 2025: “I’m Going All In”

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield, better known as JBL, is proving that his larger-than-life persona extends far beyond the ring. After a year filled with appearances across various wrestling promotions, the former WWE Champion is gearing up for a monumental new chapter in his career.

During a recent interview on the Something To Wrestle With podcast, JBL teased a high-stakes project he’s planning for 2025. Though the specifics remain under wraps, Layfield made it clear that he’s pouring everything into this endeavor, even if it comes with significant risks.

A Leap Into the Unknown

JBL expressed excitement and determination about his upcoming plans, sharing, “I’ve got some really cool plans starting to come together. This year, it’s going to be attempted. I’m 100% sure of that. Whether it works or not, we’ll see—but I think it will. I’m working my tail off to make it happen.”

He also revealed that 2025 is already shaping up to be a milestone year. “I’ve got a couple of really big things not just tentatively planned but actually scheduled and locked in the calendar,” Layfield said. “I’m building everything around those two different places right now.”

The Thrill of Risk

One of the most intriguing aspects of JBL’s announcement is his fearless approach to taking chances. The self-proclaimed “Wrestling God” said, “I’ve been planning this for the better part of a year, and it’s all going to come to fruition. Either it’s going to work big, or I’m going to go down in flames. One of the two—and I don’t care. I’m going all in.”

For fans of JBL, this bold mindset comes as no surprise. Throughout his storied career, Layfield has consistently thrived on challenges, whether in the ring, at the commentary desk, or in his successful ventures outside of wrestling.

What Could JBL Be Planning?

The nature of JBL’s 2025 project remains a mystery, but his comments suggest it could be something ambitious and game-changing. Whether it’s tied to wrestling, business, or another passion entirely, one thing is clear—Layfield is embracing the high-stakes mentality that made him a household name in the first place.

Stay tuned to see how JBL’s vision unfolds. Will he strike gold once again, or will this gamble lead to an unforgettable lesson in risk-taking? Either way, the journey is guaranteed to be as compelling as his in-ring career.

This match will mark Booker T’s first return to action since his appearance in the 2023 Royal Rumble.

WWE No Longer Holding Annual Tribute To The Troops

WWE’s beloved Tribute to the Troops specials have officially come to an end. According to Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, a source within WWE confirmed that the company will no longer produce the long-running tradition.

A Storied Legacy

Tribute to the Troops first debuted in December 2003, spearheaded by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Hall of Famer John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Designed as a heartfelt gesture to honor the men and women of the armed forces, the show began as a live event in Baghdad, Iraq, aired during the Christmas season.

Over the years, WWE evolved the format, shifting from international deployments to holding the specials at U.S. military bases. Later, the event transitioned to standalone television specials broadcast on NBC and FOX. With a legacy of two decades, Tribute to the Troops became one of WWE’s most cherished annual events.

A Gradual Decline

Despite its historical significance, the show’s prominence faded in recent years. After 2009, WWE moved away from international tapings, and by 2010, the program was primarily filmed stateside. Only one episode, in 2019, did not air on television. The most recent installment aired in December 2023, marking the end of its 20-year run.

WWE Moves Forward

The decision to discontinue Tribute to the Troops is a significant shift for WWE, which has long balanced sports entertainment with charitable and patriotic outreach. While no specific reason has been given for the change, it could reflect WWE’s evolving focus on other large-scale events and partnerships.

Fans who grew up watching the specials will undoubtedly feel the absence of this tradition, which showcased a unique blend of gratitude, wrestling action, and heartfelt moments with the troops.

As WWE continues to innovate and expand its global reach, the spirit of Tribute to the Troops will remain a cherished chapter in the company’s history.
