Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Production Company Working On Docuseries About Fall Of WCW

In addition to his status as a major movie star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has his own production company, known as Seven Bucks Productions. In addition to producing movies he stars in, Johnson has endeavored to finance other projects, such as the recent “Tales from the Territories,” the documentary “Stuntman,” and the film “Fighting With My Family.” A new report from Deadline indicates that another wrestling project is on the horizon for Johnson. This time, it’s a docu-series focused on the history of World Championship Wrestling, the once-dominant Turner promotion that folded in the early 2000s and was bought out by WWE. Deadline stated that Seven Bucks is partnering with Vice Media for the series, though it’s not known when it’s planned for release.

The report referred to the end of WCW as “mysterious,” hinting that the upcoming series will focus on the reasons behind the company’s downfall. WCW got its start in 1988 when Ted Turner purchased the assets of Jim Crockett Promotions, turning them into a new brand that would air on his TV networks. Though the company eventually rose to challenge and even briefly surpassed WWE, it wouldn’t last. The last real WCW match took place in March 2001, and the company was bought out several months later.

Appearing on the latest “Wrestling Observer Radio,” co-hosts Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez poked fun at the idea of labeling WCW’s downfall as “mysterious.” Additionally, the two men pointed out that Johnson was likely too busy at the time to be watching WCW’s programming, and if he had watched the company’s shows, the reasons behind WCW’s demise wouldn’t be a mystery. Meltzer also believes he has an idea of how the finished product will come across.

“I presume that they’ll have Bischoff all over it, and once you have Bischoff all over it, you’re just going to have the total ‘full of st’ story,” Meltzer said. “‘All those people [were] out to get us’ as opposed to — you know, you just f*ed up. You drove all your fanbase away. … I don’t want to say it’s just him, but he was part of that deal.”

Meltzer stated that the reasons behind the end of WCW were the falling ratings and loss of profits, making it relatively straightforward to determine why the company went out of business when it did.

CM Punk Teases Involvement In WarGames Match At WWE Survivor Series On Social Media

Next week, WWE will travel to Chicago, Illinois for their 37th annual Survivor Series event. Based on the location of this show, many wrestling fans have brought up the possibility of a major return – specifically that of former WWE Champion CM Punk. Despite previous reports stating that there are no talks between Punk and WWE, the “Second City Saint” continues to tease his involvement in the November 25 premium live event.

In one of his new Instagram stories, Punk shared an update on his Tuesday afternoon exercise session, revealing he had burned 666 calories. “Just working out!” the caption read. Upon closer inspection though, Punk also attached the song “War Pigs” by Faith No More, which is a cover of the official 2023 Survivor Series theme song, “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath. As of now, it remains to be seen if Punk’s teasers will result in a return to WWE, or if they’re simply a bluff.

Following Monday’s episode of “WWE RAW,” Cody Rhodes’ team appears to be down a number heading into WarGames, fueling more speculation that Punk may resurface to fill that position. Recent reports, however, have pointed toward Randy Orton as the likely candidate for the final participant in the men’s WarGames match.

Sentencing Date Reportedly Set In WWE Hall Of Famer Tammy Sytch (Sunny) DUI Manslaughter Case

Tammy Stitch known by many by her WWE ring name Sunny, is expected be sentenced on November 27.

After over a year and a half, Tammy Sytch’s trial of charges of DUI Manslaughter over her role in the death of a 75-year-old man is finally coming to an end, it may be bringing along massive consequences for the WWE Hall of Famer.

PWInsider confirms that Sytch will be sentenced for said charges on November 27 at 9 a.m. In addition to DUI Manslaughter, Sytch will also be sentenced on three other charges, including multiple counts of DUI causing an injury to a person, and DUI causing damage to property. The sentencing comes after Sytch pleaded no contest to all charges in August, accepting a guilty plea while also not admitting fault or guilt. Between the charges, Sytch could be sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for her actions, with the prosecution said to be seeking over 26 years. Even with potential good behavior lessening her sentence, Sytch would still be required to serve 4 years minimum in prison.

Sytch was first arrested back in May 2022, two months after the March incident where she collided with the victim’s car at a traffic stop. Her blood alcohol levels were later shown to be three and a half times over the legal limit, and an unsealed bottle of vodka was said to be found in the car after the accident. Sytch, who stated in court she suffered from PTSD following the incident, has also been sued by the family of the victim, which she had filed to have dismissed last year. No update was provided on the civil suit.
