There’s been talk of taking WWE NXT live on the WWE Network in 2017, according to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio.
There are obviously major logistical issues that would come with going live and the costs would be significantly higher than the current tapings model. WWE would have to bring in talents each week for a one-hour live show and NXT airing live or on tape likely won’t affect the Network subscriber count.
No word yet on how serious the talks are but it’s something to keep an eye on as we move into 2017.

Shinsuke Nakamura recaptured the WWE NXT Championship at the NXT Live Event in Osaka, Japan. He now becomes the second two-time NXT Champion alongside Samoa Joe.
Nakamura sealed the win with his trademark Kinshasa. The full match will air on next week’s NXT episode, which WrestlingInc will have a live viewing party for on Wednesday at 8:00pm ET.
In the video below, WWE’s Mike Rome caught up with Nakamura after his title win in his home country, with Nakamura citing his history in Japan.
“When I was 24 years old, I got the IWGP heavyweight title my first time here,” Nakamura said. “I love Osaka.”

Former WWE NXT Superstar Percy Watson has returned to the brand as an announcer. He made his return at tonight’s NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University and will be joining Tom Phillips and Corey Graves on commentary each week.
Watson participated in the second season of NXT back in 2010 with MVP as his mentor. He was later released in May 2013 and has been somewhat quiet on the indies.
