Ric Flair’s agent releases a statement on passing of Reid Flair

Ric Flair’s agent, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, issued the following statement regarding Reid’s passing:

“We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric’s son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today March 29, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time”

Ric Flair’s son dead at 25

Reid Flair, the son of legendary pro wrestler and former world champion Ric Flair, has died according to PWInsider.com. He was 25 years old.

There is no word on what caused the death as of today’s report.

Reid made his wrestling debut in the latter years of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) after completing a successful amateur wrestling career. .

We don’t expect Ric to be active in any scheduled Wrestlemania events as planned

News on Jack Swagger’s next court date set for after Wrestlemania 29

Jack Swagger’s new court date will be on Tuesday, April 9th in Biloxi, Mississippi to face charges from his arrest last month. Swagger’s first court date was March 12th but it was continued to a later date by his lawyers, in part because he’s in the middle of WrestleMania season.

TNA Recap: March 28 2013

It was Open Fight Night.

Jeff Hardy came to the ring & talked about becoming the #1 contender for the TNA World Title. Before Hardy could call out someone Bully Ray & Aces & Eights interrupted. Bully asked if Hardy wanted to call him out. Mr. Anderson talked about Hardy getting another second chance. Mr. Anderson called Hardy a giant disappointment. Hardy hit Anderson Knocking him off the apron to the floor. Aces & Eights attacked Hardy. Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Magnus & Eric Young came to the ring & Aces & Eights retreated. Hardy called out Anderson for a match tonight.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez came to the ring. Chavo said they were robbed last week. He said tonight is about payback. He said he talked to Hogan & Hogan added a stipulation for their match tonight where the winner is the #1 contender for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. Chavo called out Daniels & Kazarian.

#1 Contender Match for the TNA World Tag Team Titles: Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez vs (Bad Influence) Daniels & Kazarain: Chavo & Hernandez got the win to become the #1 contenders.

Backstage Taryn Terrell hanging part way out from behind dressing room door said she has a good idea who she is going to call out tonight & what she is going to wear.

Taryn Terrell came to the ring & called out Gail Kim. Gail came to the ring & said calling her out was a rookie mistake. Gail said Taryn has rubbed her the wrong way & that she isn’t the only one she has rubbed the wrong way. Gail said that someone wanted to call Taryn out tonight. Tara with Jesse came came to the ring. Gail & Tara attacked Taryn. Velvet Sky came to Taryn’s rescue & Gail & Tara retreated.

Backstage Velvet with Taryn was doing a interview for the camera about what happened. Taryn saw Gail & Tara walk by & took off after them. Taryn attacked Gail from behind & Velvet & Tara separated them.

Backstage Jeremy Borash introduced next weeks competitors for the Gut Check match next week, Adam Pearce & Magno.

Sting went to talk to Hogan but wasn’t allowed into the office by a security guard. Sting said he will have to try a different approach.

Backstage in Hogan’s office, Hogan was talking to Jeff Hardy about Hardy’s rematch with Bully Ray. Hogan apologized to Hardy Bully & Aces & Eights stealing the title from him. Hogan told Hardy to pick the stipulation for the rematch. Sting’s music was heard & Hogan said that he wasn’t suppose to be here & got up & left.

Sting came to the ring & said he wrong about Bully Ray & he needs to fix the problem but to do so he needs to be on the same page with Hogan. Sting called Hogan out so he could talk to him. Hogan came to the ring. Sting said he tried to apologize to Hogan twice already & is going to try a third time. Sting said if Hogan doesn’t accept his apology this time things could get a little nuclear here tonight. Hogan said it was because of Sting that he didn’t listen to his gut & made a decision that messed up the entire company. Sting told Hogan to man up & take ownership of it. Hogan took ownership of the decision he made & said he is tired of Sting getting in his face & told Sting to get out of his ring. Sting told Hogan to make him. Hogan ripped open his shirt & 2 security guards got between Sting & Hogan & they escorted Sting from the ring.

Footage from during the break. While Sting was being escorted out of the arena. Matt Morgan appeared & applauded & said “yet again another Hogan mistake”.

James Storm came to the ring & talked about AJ Styles actions the past couple of weeks. Storm called out AJ. AJ appeared up in the stands. Storm said they can handle this 2 ways. They could put a beer in one hand & talk about it or they could make a fist with the other hand & fight about it. Storm said either way is good with him but the choice is up to AJ. Aces & Eights members Wes Briscoe, Garett Bischoff & DOC attacked Storm & AJ walked away. Eric Young came to help but was beat down. Kurt Angle came to the ring & Aces & Eights retreated. Angle said where are you going & that he wasn’t done with them yet. Angle called them out for a 6 man tag match.

Kurt Angle, James Storm & Eric Young vs Wes Briscoe, Garett Bischoff & DOC: D’Lo Brown came out & distracted Angle & the referee. Bischoff wrapped a chain around his fist & swung at Angle but Angle was able to put him in a ankle lock. Briscoe rolled up Angle for the win.

Aces & Eights in their clubhouse. Bully, Devon & Mr. Anderson toasted the Aces & Eights victory. Bull said he can’t believe Hardy called out Anderson & that Hogan is letting Hardy pick the stipulation for their rematch. Anderson said Bully wont have to worry about that because Hardy wont be able to wrestle in Corpus Christi. Anderson went ballistic & hit the table with a ball-peen hammer & kept saying he is losing his mind.

Backstage Jeremy Borash introduced the competitors for next weeks X-Division Championship qualifying match. Sonjay Dutt, Mason Andrews & returning fro a 4 year absence Petey Williams.

Jeff Hardy vs Mr. Anderson: The referee got knocked out & Bischoff brought Anderson a ball-peen hammer. Anderson tried to hit Hardy with it but missed & Hardy hit Anderson with a Twist of Fate & picked up the hammer & hit Anderson. Anderson won by DQ. After the match Hardy hit Bischoff in the gut with the hammer.Hardy got a steal chair & hit Anderson across the back. Hardy set up the chair & used it to propel himself in the air to attack Anderson. Hardy brought a table into the ring & set it up. Hardy then got a ladder & set it up in the ring. Anderson fought back & tried to suplex Hardy brought the table but Hardy blocked it & hit Anderson with a Twist of Fate. Hardy climbed the ladder. Bully came to the ring & pulled Anderson out to safety. Hardy called for a mic. Hardy named the stipulation for their rematch in Corpus Christi in 2 weeks. Hardy said it will be no rules, no DQ, tables, ladders, chairs, stairs, Full Metal Mayhem.

 

 

 

Full NXT Recap: Kaitlyn defends Divas’ Championship and more

Kaitlyn (c) vs. Natalya

They tie up and Kaitlyn locks in a waist lock, and then slams Natalya to the mat. Natalya gets out, and they stare each other down. Natalya goes for a takedown, but Kaitlyn locks her arms around her head. Natalya reverses into a headlock of her own, and then a fireman’s carry. She hits Kaitlyn with a shoulder knockdown. They exchange pin attempts, and then Kaitlyn hits a dropkick. Natalya goes to the corner, and Kaitlyn charges her, but Natalya moves. Kaitlyn boots Natalya, and goes up top. She dives at Natalya, who catches her in a sharpshooter position.

She tries to lock it in, but Kaitlyn kicks her off. She locks Kaitlyn in a reverse STO position, but Natalya elbows her. Natalya hits a clothesline, and then pulls Kaitlyn’s hair. She hits a snap Suplex for a near pin fall. She then locks in an abdominal stretch on Kaitlyn. Back from commercial, and Kaitlyn has an abdominal stretch locked in on Natalya. Natalya gets out, and then slams Kaitlyn’s head to the mat. She goes for a standing leg drop, but Kaitlyn moves.

Kaitlyn hits a big clothesline, and then a pair of elbows. She whips Natalya, and then hits her with a big shoulder. Kaitlyn then picks Natalya up on her shoulders and hits a backbreaker. She goes for the spear, but Natalya jumps over and locks in a Sharpshooter. Kaitlyn slips Natalya over her, into the turnbuckle, to escape and then hits the spear for the win.

Winner: Kaitlyn

After the match, Kaitlyn and Natalya shake hands and hug.

Then, Tony Dawson is backstage with Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio says that Swagger claims he is everything that’s wrong with America. He says that Swagger talks about him and other immigrants taking jobs and other opportunities. He talks about how Swagger broke Ricardo Rodriguez’s ankle. He says that at Wrestlemania, he is going to break Swagger’s spirit, his pride and maybe his arm. He says that if Swagger’s friend, the guy from Jumangi, Colter, sneaks his way into the ring, he is going to do the same to him. He says he was born in Mexico, but he is made in America. He says Jack Swagger’s dream of America and the World Heavyweight Title end at Wrestlemania.

El Local vs. Brodus Clay

They tie up, and Clay pushes Local across the ring. Local goes for a crossbody, but Clay catches him and hits a body slam. He headbutts Local in the chest. Local heads to the corner, and Clay charges him. Local puts up his boot, but Clay catches it and shakes his head. Local hits an enziguri, and then takes Clay’s knee out with a shoulder block. He dropkicks Clay’s head, and then hits a springboard kick. Local goes for another springboard something, but Clay pushes him to the mat. Clay takes control and hits an exploder Suplex. Clay hits a body avalanche, and then his flying headbutt. He then hits his splash for the win.

Winner: Brodus Clay

Then The Shield is shown in a video. They talk about Wrestlemania. They say they will collapse the Universe in the name of justice, and that they are taking over. Ambrose says that Sheamus, Orton and Show think they are above the law, and they are not. They say their opponents are weak, and they have zero tolerance for mercy. They say that their opponents are false heroes. They say that at Wrestlemania, the walls are closing in, and they will crush them.

Then, Dawson is backstage with John Cena. Cena says that Dawson has to button up his coat. He says that he will teach Dawson how to tie a full Windsor. He then starts talking about Wrestlemania. He says it’s his shot at redemption, and his chance to even the score. He says last year, pressure was on him, but this years it’s on the Rock. He says he knows what it’s like to fail, but Rock doesn’t. He says Rock doesn’t know what it’s like to see his world crumble. He says that on April 7th, he will humanize the Rock. He then tells Dawson to get a better tie next time.

Then, William Regal and JR are talking on commentary about Cena’s words, and Kassius Ohno runs up out of nowhere and attacks Regal. Five refs come out and pull him off Regal as Ohno screams, “Who do you think you are?!”

Damien Sandow vs. Randy Orton

They tie up and Orton locks in a side headlock. Sandow shrugs him off, and Orton hits a shoulder knockdown. They tie up again, and Orton comes out on top with an elbow. He tries to slam Sandow’s head into the corner, but Sandow reverses and slams Orton’s head into the corner. He then kicks him multiple times. Orton comes back with a Lou Thesz Press. Sandow rolls out of the ring for a breather. Orton follows him and hits a clothesline.

Back from commercial and Orton is kicking Sandow in the ring. Orton misses a knee, and Sandow delivers several boots. Orton counters with a Suplex. He tosses Sandow to the apron and tries for his draping DDT, but Sandow backdrops him to the outside. Orton pulls Sandow out, and tries to whip him into the stairs. Sandow reverses and whips Orton into the stairs. He rolls Orton into the ring, and hits several boots.

He locks a headlock in on Orton. Sandow hits his somersault side Russian leg sweep, and then the Elbow of Disdain for a near pin fall. He hits a few strikes, and goes up top. Orton runs over and punches him, and then hits a superplex for a near pin fall. Orton lands a series of clotheslines, and then his snap powerslam. He mounts Sandow in the corner, and punches him ten times. He whips Sandow into the corner and charges him, and Sandow puts his foot up. Sandow hits a neckbreaker, and then tries to keep the attack up. Orton counters with an inverted backbreaker, and then hits his draping DDT. He signals for the RKO, and then hits it for the win.
