Bullet Club Member Hikuleo Appears At AEW Fyter Fest Night Two

NJPW star and Bullet Club member Hikuleo made a suprise appearance during night two of AEW Fyter Fest and laid down a championship challenge for Fight For The Fallen!

During Orange Cassidy’s clash with The Blade, New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Hikuleo appeared at ringside to take in the action. Later, the 30-year-old was shown at ringside donning a Bullet Club t-shirt with commentary noting he had particular interest in the IWGP United States Heavyweight title showdown between Jon Moxley and Lance Archer.

After a brutal and bloody Texas Deathmatch in the show’s main event, Archer regained the gold from the man he’d lost it to a year and a half earlier before being confronted by the Bullet Club member. The two stared down to close the show and it was later made official that Hikuleo will be Archer’s first challenger next week at Fight For The Fallen, the former’s AEW in-ring debut!

Despite making his pro wrestling debut in November 2016, the 6 foot 8 star quickly made an impression across the world. Immediately joining his fellow Fifita family members Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa in Bullet Club, Hikuleo faced off against some of the biggest stars in NJPW before leaving on excursion for UK promotion Revolution Pro Wrestling. (They are the sons of Haku)

Most recently appearing on NJPW Strong, he’s picked up wins over the likes of Brody King, TJP and Fred Rosser and most notably made it to the semi-finals of the New Japan Cup USA 2021 before falling to eventual winner Tom Lawlor.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. Makes AEW Debut at Fyter Fest Night Two

Chavo Guerrero Jr. is All Elite, making his AEW debut during night two of Fyter Fest. Last night’s special episode of Dynamite saw Guerrero announced as the advisor to Andrade El Idolo. Guerrero appeared and said that while he’s excited to be part of AEW and praised the talent, none of them were on El Idolo’s level. That brought out PAC and Death Triangle, and Guerrero tried to recruit Penta and Fenix to no avail.

Guerrero returned to the ring in April at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 6, defeating Rocky Romero. He was last seen at Impact Wrestling in September of 2019 and has been working in Hollywood for the last few years, working on shows like Young Rock and GLOW.

Impact Wrestling Drops More Hints On Who Might Appear At Slammiversary

On tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling, several more hints were dropped on which stars might be returning or debuting at Slammiversary this Saturday.

In one of tonight’s segments, the Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, who is set to defend her championship against an opponent she won’t find out about until Saturday night, and Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore, sat down to sign Purrazzo’s side of the contract going into Slammiversary. Just before she signed the contract, D’Amore told The Virtuosa, “I know sometimes things around here get to be a little bit of a hot mess, but Slammiversary is truly going to be iconic. We’re in Nashville here…might be a little hardcore country.”

In the first part of D’Amore’s statement, “hot mess” was in reference to Laurel Van Ness (fka Chelsea Green in WWE). Ness spent two years in TNA/Impact from 2016 – 2018. She held the Knockouts Championship one time. Her title reign lasted 65 days before dropping it to Allie (aka The Bunny in AEW). Green was one of several who was, unfortunately, let go from WWE in April, which means her non-compete clause has expired. Just recently, Green made an appearance at Ring of Honor’s Best in the World, where she will become one of the participants scheduled to compete in the Women’s World Championship Tournament that will begin soon.

The second phrase mentioned was “iconic,” which belongs to Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay (fka as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, collectively known as The IIconics in WWE). Like Green, Lee and McKay were released by WWE in April and are now free from their 90-day non-compete clauses. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team champs have mentioned that they would like to remain a team going forward. In a recent interview with Renee Paquette, they both mentioned they would like to compete in Impact, along with other promotions, if given the opportunity.

Lastly, the “hardcore country” reference was made toward Mickie James’ music single, “Hardcore Country,” which was released on her 2013 album, Somebody’s Gonna Pay. James spent roughly two decades on and off with TNA (2002 – 2003, 2010 – 2015). She racked up three separate reigns with the Knockouts Championship and is looked at as one of the founding mothers of the Knockouts division. Currently, James is working as an executive producer and in-ring talent at NWA. She will be in charge of the first-ever all-female event for the company called NWA EmPowerrr on August 28.

It’ll be interesting to see if some or all of these women mentioned on tonight’s program will appear at SlammiversarySlammiversary will take place this Saturday on FITE TV and traditional pay-per-view.

Impact Wrestling Preview 7/15/21

In two days, Impact Wrestling’s world will change once again at Slammiversary. With all the titles on the line and possibly new and former faces emerging, anything can happen on Saturday. But that’s 48 hours away. Tonight, witness the go-home edition of Impact leading up to this altering event.

This week, the main event will showcase a Battle of the Hosses as Fallah Bahh, Willie Mack, Doc Gallows and the current Impact World Tag Team Champion Joe Doering from Violent By Design collide in a four-way match. Before these men and their tag team partners duke it out in a four-way matchup for the tag team titles on Saturday, one man from each team listed will test the waters on tonight’s program.

Last week, the men mentioned above saw their partners compete in the same structure, with Karl Anderson, a former Impact tag champion, win the entire thing. Will Gallows do the same thing his partner did last week, or could we see a new man step up and stake a claim for their team heading into this career-defining matchup this weekend?

Tonight on Impact on AXS TV:

* Havok vs. Tasha Steelz

* Moose vs. Hernandez

* Eight-Man Tag Team Match: X-Division Champion Josh Alexander, Chris Bey, Trey Miguel & Petey Williams vs. Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, Rohit Raju & Shera

* Mixed Tag Team Action: Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb (With A “K”) vs. Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering

* Chris Sabin vs. Johnny Swinger will kick things off on Before The Impact at 7 PM ET!

Impact Wrestling Preview 7/8/21

In less than two weeks, worlds will collide as the Impact World Champion Kenny Omega is set to do battle with “The Draw” Sami Callihan in the main event at Slammiversary. Tonight, these two notorious bruisers will make their match official with a contract signing on Impact Wrestling.

Last week, Omega and Callihan led their respective teams in a six-man tag team match. Unfortunately, Callihan’s team lost at the hands of The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson). But it’s important to note that neither Omega nor Callihan took the pin. These two future opponents missed each other in the match. The only interaction between them was Omega hitting a V-Trigger on Callihan, which helped his team pick up the pinfall victory.

Although this will be Omega’s first contract signing held at the Impact Zone, Omega will have to mind his Ps and Qs against one of the most violent athletes on the Impact roster. Callihan, who is dead set on winning the title for a second time and bringing it back home, is also ready to end Omega and keep him far away from the promotion he spent close to four years perfecting through his blood, sweat and tears. How will “The Best Bout Machine” handle “The Death Machine” tonight?

Speaking of Slammiversary, a Knockouts Tag Team Contenders Match will take place between Havok and Rosemary against Susan and Kimber Lee. Whoever wins will secure their shot at facing Fire ‘N Flava for the titles (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz) next Saturday. With Lee focused on summoning Su Yung to help her and Susan seek revenge on Deonna Purrazzo, will The Undead Bride arrive to obtain the victory?

Also set for tonight’s show:

* Brian Myers vs. Jake Something

* Steve Maclin vs. Suicide will kick things off on Before The Impact at 7 PM ET.
