Jim Ross Likely Re-Signing With AXS TV

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears that Jim Ross will be renewing his AXS TV deal for another year to do commentary on NJPW shows. AXS wants to keep him and he wants to keep doing it, so as long as WWE doesn’t block the deal, which they haven’t had an issue with so far, he will be staying. Ross is not working any television for WWE right now, and is on a limited date deal, and due to the U.K. show not happening, which is what he was brought in for, he hasn’t worked for WWE since the Mae Young Classic.

The Young Bucks Contacted For WWE 2K19 Work

In an interesting twist on the situation between WWE and The Young Bucks, the brothers were contacted to do WWE 2K19 work just one day after they received their cease & desist letter from WWE following the recent “invasion” outside of a RAW TV event in California. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the company in charge of the WWE 2K franchise contacted The Bucks to ask them about doing motion capture work for next year’s video game. The game creators felt like they needed all of the signature YB moves in the game because so many people playing last year’s edition were using the Create-A-Wrestler mode to play as the brothers.

The Young Bucks released a “cease and desist” shirt last week with “Too Sweet” censored on the front after WWE sent them a cease & desist letter for using the “Too Sweet” branding, which WWE trademarked in 2015. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that the shirt was the best selling shirt of September on Pro Wrestling Tees despite only being out for a few days.

WWE Sends Cease And Desist Letter To The Young Bucks This Week

WWE sent a cease and desist letter to The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) this week claiming the Bucks were using intellectual property owned by the company, in specific the “too sweet” hand gesture. The letter threatend damages in the range of $150,000 per item, any profits made off the items and legal fees.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, any merchandise with references to the term “too sweet” that the Bucks were selling through their own website (YoungBucksMerch.com) and ProWrestlingTees.com has now been in removed in response. It should be noted that Bullet Club shirts being sold at Hot Topic stores nationwide did not have any reference or drawings in question by WWE, which have sold an estimated 100,000 t-shirts the last three months according to Nick Jackson.

WWE first registered ownership of the former “too sweet” hand gesture in 2015, something the Bucks responded to at the time. While it had a rich history in the early days of the nWo in WCW, WWE hadn’t used it for many years and it had a rebirth in New Japan Pro Wrestling with the formation of The Bullet Club during Finn Balor’s time with the promotion. The Young Bucks began marketing it in 2013. Getting into a legal battle with WWE right now over the trademarks was described in the report as being very costly.

WWE sent the letter after video was taken of The Bullet Club “invading” the RAW taping this past Monday in Ontario and put it online later that day as part of the “Being The Elite” YouTube series. The group promoted a last minute appearance at a Hot Topic store close to the arena and then gathered fans to walk over to do a remake of the DX invasion of WCW back in 1998. WWE sent the letter the following day claiming intellectual property violations over any references to “too sweet” including DVD releases, t-shirts, photos and other merchandise being sold. The video remains online that you can view below.

Bullet Club ‘Invades’ Raw On Being The Elite (VIDEO)

bullet club invades raw being the elite video

Videos of Bullet Club “invading” Raw have been hitting social media all day, but now this week’s Being The Elite episode chronicling the whole thing has been released … and it’s hilarious.

The episode shows the group rolling up to Raw in Ontario today in a stretch limo and then standing on the back of it to cut promos on a megaphone to air their grievances in public.

This includes Matt Jackson exclaiming that he wants to be able to say “suck it” without getting bleeped, “Hangman” Adam Page griping about being “kidnapped” and (for some reason) Cody Rhodes reciting a monologue from the movie Independence Day.

Those who’ve been keeping up with the show also get a tease at the end in regards to the ongoing saga of the WWE Stooge.
