Tara Says She Will Never Return To TNA

Tara Says She Will Never Return To TNA, Talks About How Her Departure Happened And More - WrestlingInc.com

F4Wonline.com published an interview with former TNA Knockout Tara. Here are some highlights from the interview:

The current direction women’s wrestling is taking:

“I like the direction that the Divas are heading. I also think there are a lot of talented females on the indy scene that could shine in TNA. I’m not sure that I understand what direction they are heading. They say never say never in this business. But I’m comfortable saying I will never return to TNA. I feel like I am still in peak physical condition. I still am able to have great matches. I would like to continue to wrestle, but my plate is full right now. We are looking at more locations for the restaurant. We are looking to expand our brand. I have an offer on the table outside of wrestling that I’m considering. There is also a group that has approached me about starting a wrestling organization. I am blessed to be in the position that I am in right now. I’m considering my next move, and for the time being, I won’t be taking any more Indy appearances outside of those I’ve already committed to.”

Her release from TNA:

“It was a surprise to me. I went to TNA because I wanted to work with some of the great female wrestlers that I hadn’t faced like Kong, ODB, and Sarita. TNA has definitely shifted their focus as far as the women’s division. It was really my love of wrestling that kept me going. I didn’t think it was the right fit for me anymore. My contract was up in a month or two. They knew I wasn’t going to re-sign. First, they had the travel guy call me and tell me I was released. Then Dixie called me later that day and said that it was a financial thing, and they knew I was ready to jump ship anyway. I think the classy thing to do would have been to give me the opportunity to quit rather than getting released. But at the end of the day, everyone got what they wanted.”

Possible Sign That The Rock Won’t Be Back Working For WWE Until 2015

Possible Sign That The Rock Won't Be Back Working For WWE Until 2015 - WrestlingInc.com

It appears that at least for right now, WWE is going with the assumption that The Rock won’t be back next year as a short-term character as he has been for the past three years.

According to information given to a major licensee this past week, they were told not to produce any merchandise involving The Rock. They were told he could be used as far as a group shot of Superstars goes but not to produce anything specific because he was not going to be featured until 2015.

This was taken as a sign that The Rock is not going to do WrestleMania XXX. We still don’t know if Rock has said this or not to WWE officials. It could be that an assumption was made over the call to not merchandise him individually.

Howard Stern talks Bobby Roode

For two consecutive days, Howard Stern has played clips of the Impact Wrestling Podcast with Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme, where the “It Factor” Bobby Roode has engaged in a bitter verbal war with long time Stern guest, Eric “the Actor” Lynch.

“I can’t stand him.  He’s every time he’s on Stern it is like nails on a chalk board.  And then that idiot Borash brings him backstage as an invited guest and all he does is hang around the knockouts locker room waiting for something to drop on the floor so he can pick it up and sniff it, or lurking around looking for free t-shirts.  He shouldn’t be invited anywhere.  He’s a moron.” Roode tells ImpactWrestling.com.

Eric has responded by going on record as saying he would never cheat like Roode has, and judging by his slow start in the BFG Series, and the success of James Storm, Bobby Roode was really the weak link of Beer Money.

Roode has invited Eric to Bound For Glory in San Diego.   Will he take him up on his offer?  Stay tuned!

Toronto mayor defeats Hulk Hogan in arm-wrestling

Toronto’s larger-than-life mayor took down wrestling star Hulk Hogan in a friendly arm-wrestling match Friday to kick off an annual pop culture convention.

The 14-time world wrestling champion, in a T-shirt and his trademark bandana, entered the room to applause and his old wrestling theme music, while Mayor Rob Ford strutted in to “Eye of the Tiger.” Ford ripped off his jacket and tie, untucked his dress shirt and rolled up his sleeves.

“Big man, oh, that’s all you got?” Hogan asked Ford, who weighs in at 307 pounds as the pair locked hands.

“Not only am I going to rip this arm off, I’m going to take your job while I’m at it, brother. Mayor Hogan,” he added.

A sweating Ford seemed to struggle at first. But after 20 some seconds of trash talk and stalemate, he slammed Hogan’s arm down.

“I own this town!” Ford said.

Hogan grimaced. “That was a setup,” he said, without a hint of irony.

“The only reason he beat me is because he’s younger,” the 60-year-old Hogan said of the 44-year-old mayor, whom he nicknamed “Fantastic Ford.”

“It was like wrestling a friggin’ grizzly bear,” Ford said of the 302-pound wrestler.

The event took place at Fan Expo Canada, a convention celebrating diverse pop culture genres.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, was in Toronto for an “uncensored” question-and-answer session at the expo.

Ford most recently made world news over allegations that he appeared in a video smoking crack cocaine. The video has not been released publicly.

When asked if he thought the alleged video of the mayor was real, Hogan responded, “I’m hungry.”

Ford said Hogan has been his hero since he was a “little guy.” He tweeted after the match, “I own this town @HulkHogan! Thanks for being such a great sport.”

The wrestler also took to Twitter: “Just arm wrestled Mayor Ford from Toronto, had a great time brother.”
