Information About Tonight’s WWE’s “Battleground” Pay-Per-View

WWE added Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger vs. Santino Marella and The Great Khali to tonight’s Battleground pay-per-view because of timing issues. Once they laid out the show with the planned match lengths, they realized they still had a significant amount of time left. The call was then made to announce the tag match.

While CM Punk is dealing with nagging injuries and Ryback is limited to his in-ring work, the plan is for their match at Battleground tonight to still receive a decent amount of time. Plans call for Punk and Paul Heyman’s feud to keep going past tonight.

Josh Mathews, Tensai, Titus O’Neil and The Miz will host the Battleground pre-show tonight. The panel will also likely make an appearance on the pay-per-view.

Raquel Diaz, the daughter of Vickie Guerrero and the late Eddie Guerrero, resurfaced at Thursday’s WWE NXT live event in Tampa, Florida, according to Diva-Dirt.com. It is her first appearance for the developmental league since last year.

In September 2012, it was reported that Diaz, whose real name is Shaul Guerrero, had requested and was granted a release from her developmental contract—she later confirmed her departure on Twitter. Last month, Vickie Guerrero revealed on the social network that her daughter was moving back to Orlando, Florida to report to the WWE Performance Center. Diaz subsequently reactivated her character’s account on Twitter and stated that she was “back.”

Daniel Bryan And Brie Bella Engaged

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella, who have been dating for the past three years, got engaged this past Wednesday. Bryan popped the question while they were hiking in Big Sur, California.

“I have never in my life seen him so nervous. I’ve been by him when he’s gone out for WrestleMania and some really big things,” Brie told E!. “He got really, really nervous and he started talking about how long we’ve been together. He got down on one knee and compared our love. He said he’ll love me forever like the ocean goes on.”

Footage of Bryan popping the question will air on an upcoming episode ofTotal Divas. Brie noted that that they are hoping to tie the knot between April and June of next year.

Dixie Carter Gives Hulk Hogan An Ultimatum

Last night on TNA’s live edition of Impact Wrestling Dixie Carter continued her crusade to gain control of the chaos within the company. this time by confronting Hulk Hogan.

A week after confronting AJ Styles over comments he made about the current state of affairs TNA President Dixie Carter continued to speak out about the criticisms from fans regarding her leadership of the organization. Earlier on Thursday Dixie hinted at the encounter on social media using the hashtag #RealDixieCarter.

The current angle, which began last week during a “shoot” promo is based on TNA’s growing criticisms coming from fans and industry insiders regarding recent actions by the company and what many believe to be the beginning of the end for Impact Wrestling.

Many prominent names have been leaving the company for several months, some were released while others decided to depart. The storyline has been compared to the current “What’s best for business” storyline being done by WWE. Dixie has been compared to Stephanie etc.

While there are indeed similarities which I believe to be intentional, the degree of reality being injected into the current TNA storyline has many concerned. While we want to believe that the new heel persona from Dixie is just fictional the fact is many believe she is showing her true colors and that her words are more real then we may think.

Several reports have confirmed that Hulk Hogan’s contract will next month. And some believe he might be ready for some sort of WWE return. The current production schedule for Impact has also proven to much  for the company with rumors of possibly returning to a single location to film weekly broadcasts.

So the question remains, #TeamDixie or #TeamAJ?

And if you want to believe everything AJ Lee tweets she also has a certain “fantasy” that she says she thought was going to come true Monday night LOL. The segment is worth a second look. Last Thursday’s Dixie Carter / AJ Styles Promo Sign Of New Creative Direction

The promo featuring TNA president Dixie Carter’s heel turn is being said to kick off a new creative direction. Several other factors come into play, among them growing rumors that Jim Ross may join the company.

The confrontation between TNA wrestling president Dixie Carter and AJ Styles has been the talk of wrestling fans all week. Now watch the video below. The segment which aired as this week’s closing for TNA Impact Wrestling’s weekly broadcast on Spike TV was designed to acknowledge growing frustrations by those in the industry. The segment was a scripted “shoot promo” which addressed issues that have plagued the company in recent years..

The segment is just one in a long line of informus “shoot” promo segments more commonly refereed to as “pipebombs” today which were at one time the favorite of former WWE / WCW creative writer Vince Russo. Rather then ignore the obvious these segments are designed to blur the line between the scripted drama and reality. With wrestlers often appearing out of character and so on.

Could Jim Ross Be Going To TNA?

Jim Ross responded to a question on his website asking if he is able to pursue other opportunities in wrestling. Ross Responded by saying that he was able to do so and is considering many opinions
