WWE Network Looking Into Adding ROH And TNA Content – Four Tiered Pricing System
Via Wrestling Observer / Wrestling News Source
WWE is doing marketing research regarding adding a possible tier-based system for the WWE Network. It’s not a for sure thing at this time, but WWE is very strongly looking into a four-tiered pricing based system where there would be free access to the network at last, but with a catch.
The free tier would include video clips (5 minutes or less),the video archive, and you can only watch up to 5 hours per month. It would also include commercials and would be available on all devices. The free tier also includes the live stream but they would black out the pay-per-views, NXT and the Cruiserweight Classic, though.
The very first paid tier would be $4.99/month, you’d be getting the “Big Four” PPV events (So stuff like the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series). NXT wouldn’t be available on the live stream but you would have access to NXT on-demand thankfully. You would also get limited commercials and would only be available on phones and tablets.
The $9.99 tier would be the same content that they already do right now, but it would have limited commercials and it would be available on every device. Along with that you’ll get weekly episodes of the Cruiserweight Classic as well. It looks like the CWC will be returning but not as a tournament on a yearly basis.
The final $14.99 tier would include footage of other promotions, and there would be zero commercials. Any fan would also get perks like early ticket access to events, offline content downloads, small group online chat, 2nd screen content and invites to in-person VIP meet-ups. WWE specifically mentions TNA and ROH as possible promotions that you’d be able to see in the $14.99 tier. This price tier includes everything from the other tiers plus the perks and content from independent promotions.

NEW YORK and STAMFORD, CONN – May 25, 2016 — USA Network, the exclusive cable home to WWE’s marquee properties, announced that its weekly SMACKDOWN show will air live – for the first time ever – and move to Tuesdays every week beginning July 19 from 8-10PM ET/PT. In 2016 to date, MONDAY NIGHT RAW is averaging 4.011MM total viewers, 1.873MM P25-54 and 1.846MM P18-49 L7, and SMACKDOWN in its current time slot is averaging 2.674MM P2+, 1.136MM P25-54, and 1.058MM P18-49+ L7, making USA the #1 cable entertainment network across the key demos on Monday and Thursday nights. “The fan base for our WWE shows is one of the most passionate and engaged audiences in all of entertainment,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “There is a huge appetite among our viewers for live programming, and the ability to move SMACKDOWN to a live format brings a new level of excitement and helps truly eventize this every week.”

There will be a WWE Draft held soon but we do not know exactly when that it will be. WWE’s announcement said it will come before the live premiere on July 19th.

The Shocking Line That Was Cut From Smakedown Segment Featuring Ric Flair This Week
Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet
The controversial “kill yourself” line that Ric Flair muttered to Natalya during a SmackDown taping this week will never be seen on TV … because it was axed from the show’s final cut.
Flair’s segment made headlines this week after he dropped the offensive instruction — and the reaction to what he says from both Charlotte and Dean Ambrose is worth watching.
However, viewers with a keen eye noticed the line was cut from Thursday night’s broadcast … instead ending after Flair finishes bragging about his various wins over Bret Hart.
Bomb Threat At Ring Of Honor Office Location – Suspect Shot 3 Times
Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet
A man wearing an animal onesie was shot by police Thursday outside of the post-production office for Ring of Honor … and it’s all because he pretended to have a bomb underneath the outfit.
According to CBS Baltimore, the man walked into Fox 45 — where one ROH office is housed — and said he needed the station to play something from his flash drive. He also said he had a bomb.
News spread fast through the building after security called 911 and sources tell us once the word was passed to ROH employees, they quickly grabbed their stuff and evacuated.
The man finally walked out of the building to confront police over an hour later, but was shot 3 times after he refused to remove his hands from his pockets. Turns out he didn’t have a bomb on him either. The contraption was just chocolate candy bars wrapped in wires and a detonator looking device running down his sleeve.
The man is currently at the hospital getting treatment and is expected to survive.
