RAW Segment of the Week: Y2J vs RVD

This was probably the easiest choice for segment of the week, since we’ve added this feature. This old-school battle between Y2J and RVD was giving plenty of time to play out and these two Superstars did not disappoint.

The anticipation for this match started when Jericho stopped by the Busted Open Studios and informed them “If the match I’m hearing they’re putting me in tonight happens you guys are going to love it”.

Here is a video of that appearance. Jericho talks as Jericho and not in character.

As for the match, I commented to my partner here, Trevor, that it reminded me of the old-school Rick Flair vs Ricky Steamboat days. They could go for 45 minutes and keep you on the edge of your seat the entire match. Now we know that 45 minute matches are a thing of the past, but this one was 15 + minutes (long for today’s standards) and both Jericho and Van Dam laid it all out for us the fans. The internet is buzzing with excitement over this performance, and once again – this was an easy choice for RAW Segment of the Week.
