Memorial Day edition of Raw. The show opened with a quote from Joseph Campbell – “A hero is someone who has given his life to something bigger than oneself.” Raw was dedicated to the men & women of the United States Armed Forces who pain the ultimate price in service to our country.

John Cena came to the ring & talked about his last man standing match with Ryback at Extreme Rules. Cena talked about Ryback’s challenge he made last week for an ambulance match at Payback. Cena said Ryback thought to quickly & that Payback should be deliberate, Payback should be definitive, Payback should be hell. Cena proposed a 3 Stages of Hell match against Ryback at Payback. The 1st stage being a lumberjack match, 2nd stage being a tables match & the 3rd stage an ambulance match. Ryback came out to the stage & said he agrees with Cena that Payback should be deliberate, Payback should be definitive & Payback should be hell. Ryback said say hello to Beelzebub, say hello to Lucifer, say hello to Satan, John say hell to Ryback.

Paul Heyman came out & said to for Cena to say hello to the man who defeated Triple H last week so decisively that you wont be seeing Triple h around here anymore, the newest Paul Heyman guy Curtis Axel. Axel came out & Heyman challenged Cena to a match with Axel. Cena told Axel to stay far away from Heyman. Axel said we didn’t ask for your opinion we asked if you was looking for a fight. Cena accepted the match.

Alberto Del Rio vs Big E Langston: During the match Jerry Lawler said he was diagnosed with AJHD, Michael Cole said don’t you mean ADHD. Lawler said no AJHD, every time I see AJ in HD I can’t focus on anything else. Later in the match AJ pulled a turnbuckle pad off to distract the referee but it didn’t work. Del Rio shoved Langston into the exposed turnbuckle & Del Rio got the win. After the match AJ was upset with Langston & yelled at him that she was trying to help him.

Team Hell No backstage, Daniel Bryan was obsessed with being the weak link. Kane told him to stop & said Bryan is the only one who associates Daniel Bryan with the weak link. Kane said being tough has nothing to with your size. Kane told Bryan that if we are going to beat The Shield to win back WWE Tag Team Titles tonight your going to have to pull yourself together. Kane & Bryan argued. Bret Hart appeared & told them to take it easy & called them one of the best tag teams he has seen. Bret said tension like they got destroys tag team partnerships & said that they are better than that. Bryan asked Bret if people thought he was the weak link because he was the smaller guy of the Hart Foundation. Bret told Bryan that being tough has nothing to do with your size. Bret said Bryan is one of the best toughest WWE Superstars that he has seen. Kane said to Bryan how come you believe him & not me when he told you the same thing I did. Bryan said because that’s Bret Hart, the best there is, the best there was, the best there will ever be & your just Kane.

United States Championship Match: United States Champ Dean Ambrose vs Kofi Kingston: Ambrose got the win to retain the title. After the match Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns joined Ambrose in the ring to celebrate. team Hell no came to the ring & cleared The Shield from the ring.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: WWE Tag Team Champs Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns vs Team Hell No: Kane got distracted when he was trying to get Bryan back to the corner so they wouldn’t get disqualified. Rollins & Reigns got the win to retain the titles. After the match Rollins & Reigns was joined in the ring by Ambrose to celebrate.

Update on Triple H’s condition. Michael Cole said Triple H was hurt from the sledgehammer to his jaw by Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules & wasn’t cleared to compete last week. Cole said there was no further damage to Triple H & that his neurological test came back normal & that rest is needed & could be cleared by mid-week. Cole said they are hoping Triple H will be at Raw next week.

The Miz came to the ring. Fans could vote via the WWE App on if The Miz will be Guest Ring Announcer or Guest Commentator or Guest Referee for the Wade Barrett vs Fandango match. Fans chose by a landslide for Guest referee.

Wade Barrett vs Fandango: Guest Referee The Miz: During the match Barrett argued with The Miz & shoved The Miz down & kicked Fandango out of the ring. The Miz hit Barrett with a Skull Crushing Finale & Fandango got the win. After the match while Fandango was dancing with Summer Rae, The Miz kicked Fandango in the face & Summer fell on top of Fandango & The Miz made a 3 count.

Backstage John Cena with Shawn Michaels, Michaels asked Cena if he still wants to do this. Cena said he doesn’t back down from a challenge. Michaels said tried to Cena advice on rushing back to soon. Michaels said he tried to tell Triple H the same thing. Michaels said you guys never listen. Cena said it reminds him of someone else he knows.

Tons of Funk(Brodus Clay & Tensai) & The Great Khali vs 3MB: Tons of Funk & Khali got the win. After the match Khali sung Happy Birthday to Natalya.

Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel with guest Paul Heyman: Jericho said “welcome to Raw is Jericho.” Jericho said Heyman has an uncanny nack for aligning himself with great talent. Heyman said it’s more than that he discovers great talent. Heyman mentioned that he discovered Jericho & gave him his first break. Heyman talked about his new client Curtis Axel. Jericho wanted to talk about his other client. Heyman interrupted & talked about Brock Lesnar. Jericho told Heyman to shut the hell up & that he wanted to talk about his other client CM Punk. Jericho showed footage from the last time Punk was on Raw. Jericho said it looked liked Heyman was shocked & surprised by Punk as the rest of us. Heyman said Punk is the best in the world & he dominated the WWE but didn’t get the respect he deserved. Jericho asked where is Punk. Heyman said his client & him will have an announcement coming in the next few weeks regarding the return of the best in the world. Jericho said Punk can’t set at home for 6 weeks & still be referred to as the best in the world. Jericho said Punk is out of his mind if he thinks he can still cll himself the best in the world. Jericho tried to say that he was the best in the world but Heyman kept interrupting & said Jericho has no right to claim that title. Jericho made a challenge to Punk for Payback in Punks hometown of Chicago to prove who is the best in the world. Heyman said Jericho doesn’t get to dictate terms with him & CM Punk. Jericho said let Punk stay at home & let me say that Chris Jericho is the best in the world at what I do. Fans chanted Y2J. Heyman accepted the match for CM Punk. Jericho shook hands with Heyman & said see you in Chicago & then pulled Heyman in close & said tell Punk after Payback he will never, ever be the same again.

Kaitlyn & Natalya vs The Bella Twins: Kaitlyn speared Natalya by accident & The Bella Twins got the win. After the match The Bella Twins sung Happy Birthday to Natalya calling her a loser. Natalya was crying.

Backstage Bret Hart talked to Curtis Axel. Bret advised Axel to get rid of Heyman. Axel said Heyman is the only one who believed in him & that he is going to go on to become WWE Champion.

Randy Orton & Sheamus vs Team Rhodes Scholars: Sheamus & Orton got the win.

It was announced that this Friday on Smackdown Randy Orton will face Dean Ambrose.

John Cena vs Curtis Axel: Late in the match sirens are heard & a ambulance has drove into the arena. Cena went to the ambulance opening the doors looking for Ryback. Ryback attacked Cena from behind.Ryback tried to drive Cena through the led board on the stage but Cena sidestepped him. Cena picked up Ryback for an AA but Ryback escaped out of it & shoved Cena off the stage. Ryback walked off to the back. Axel won by count out.
