Casting Company Hiring Extras To Watch Impact Wrestling Tapings In Ottawa

casting company impact tapings crowd paid

If you’re in Ottawa and looking to make money, head over to the Impact Wrestling tapings this week … because a local casting company says they’re paying people to watch.

Smyth Casting put the word out on social media asking for people available November 7-9 who are looking to make $12.50 an hour, four hours total per day.

For those doing the math, this means you can make $150 just to stand and WATCH wrestling.

The company also says they’re looking to hire fifty to seventy five people, which is surprising considering Anthem has been rumored to be hemorrhaging funds and this would cost over $10,000.

Applicants can work more than one day and may be given pre-made signs.

The casting call continues: “You are encouraged to look at wrestlers on the website and make your own signs, that would be very helpful – and you will get more face time on TV!!”

WWE Reportedly Doing Fewer Pay-Per-Views In 2018, Original ‘Clash Of The Champions’ Main Event

WWE will be doing fewer pay-per-views in 2018, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that there will be no months with two pay-per-views until April or May. The next RAW pay-per-view will not be until February in Las Vegas, NV. Meltzer said there “probably” will be a pay-per-view in March before WrestleMania in April.

It should be noted that this year featured no months with two pay-per-views until April as well, which had WrestleMania 33 and the RAW branded Payback show. The first month to feature separate RAW and SmackDown branded pay-per-views was June. In addition to June, the other months that featured two separate RAW and SmackDown pay-per-views were July (Great Balls of Fire, Battleground) and October (Hell In A Cell, TLC).

Following The Survivor Series on November 19th, there will be only one more WWE pay-per-view this year, the SmackDown branded Clash of Champions show on December 17th from the TD Garden in Boston. That leaves 2017 with 16 pay-per-views, 6 for RAW, 6 for SmackDown and 4 dual-branded. 2016 had 15 pay-per-views, however the brand extension happened mid-year.

As noted, on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live, WWE announced that AJ Styles would face Rusev on this week’s show, with the winner joining Team SmackDown at The Survivor Series. Plans were changed the following day to Styles facing WWE Champion Jinder Mahal on this week’s show for the title. Meltzer noted that the scheduled main event for next month’s Clash of The Champions pay-per-view was Styles vs. Mahal for the title, however it’s not known if that was changed following the match now happening on this week’s SmackDown Live.

The movie about “The Million Dollar Man: Ted DiBiase will be in theaters tomorrow, November 7th, one night only.

A Film by Peter Ferriero & Ted DiBiase Jr.

‘A Story of Redemption’

The Price of Fame is the story of professional wrestling legend ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase. In the 1980’s sports entertainment was becoming what the world was watching on Saturday mornings and on some Saturday nights. At the forefront of this was a character that knew that ‘Everybody Has a Price’. DiBiase along with his bodyguard Virgil took over the wrestling world. At the height of this character’s wrestling fame he had held multiple championships, including one that he bought!

However, backstage, the greatest wrestling match Ted DiBiase was having was with himself. He was a devoted family man, a pillar of his community, and a man who had faith. On the other side was a man that was ‘living the life’. He defined ‘Sex, Drugs and Professional Wrestling.’DiBiase was one of the most successful in his industry. He had amassed great fame and money, as well as a fictitious sense of reality. On one night after being out on the town all of this debauchery came to a head as his wife, Melanie, discovered her husband was not the man he claimed to be.

Knowing the values his father instilled in him, the commitment he was breaking, the role model he was failing to be and the person he had become, Ted DiBiase fought for his redemption. The Price Of Fame is told through the eyes of Ted’s son, former WWE Superstar, Ted DiBiase Jr. He journeys through pro wrestling’s past to find his father’s story and to find his own faith all over again.

He says instead of sticking to the facts with his incident, they listened to reports on the internet and took his title away from him. Alberto continued that nobody cared about his side or his family, nobody came to check on him. Alberto says he’s going to do something later tonight, it’s a strange vague promo that’s been thrown out there. He then calls Jeremy Borash a backstabber for comments he said previously. Alberto slowly heads toward commentary, wondering why he never called him. Alberto gets up in his face, Borash says he didn’t call or text and he apologizes. Alberto puts out his hand and Borash shakes it. Alberto says he came to Canada to make a statement and he’s going to make that statement with Borash.
