Marty Jannetty Reportedly Undergoes Foot Amputation Following Battle With Sepsis

Former WWE Superstar Marty Jannetty has reportedly had his right foot amputated after dealing with serious health complications connected to sepsis.

The update was shared by Eddy Mansfield during a recent appearance on the Monte & The Pharaoh podcast. Mansfield, who described Jannetty as a close friend, revealed the news while discussing the former Rockers star’s ongoing medical struggles.

“One of my dearest friends ever on the face of this earth, and was a great wrestler, had his foot amputated, and his name is Marty Jannetty,” Mansfield said.

Jannetty previously opened up about his health issues in July 2025, revealing that he had been battling sepsis for roughly three years. At the time, doctors reportedly informed him that amputation of his infected ankle could become necessary.

Despite being told the procedure could provide immediate relief, Jannetty initially chose against moving forward with the amputation.

According to Mansfield’s latest comments, the situation has now escalated to the point where Jannetty ultimately underwent surgery to remove the foot.

During the podcast appearance, Mansfield also criticized WWE for what he viewed as a lack of support for the former tag team star during his health battle.

“Where in the hell was WWE to help Marty Jannetty? He made them millions of dollars, and you can’t help him when he’s in the biggest need of his life, fighting for his life. I don’t understand that,” Mansfield stated.

He continued by pointing to WWE and TKO’s financial success while arguing that more could have been done for former talent facing severe medical issues.

“These guys in WWE can get all these pay raises and all this other cr*p, screw the wrestling fans out of a bunch of damn money for tickets, but you can’t take care of the guys who make you the money.”

Jannetty became a household name during WWE’s Rockers tag team run alongside Shawn Michaels in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The team remains one of the most memorable duos of that era.

The news also comes less than a year after former WCW star Buff Bagwell underwent a leg amputation related to injuries and complications stemming from a 2020 car accident.
