WWE Superstar Piper Niven has opened up about a serious health issue, revealing that she recently underwent neck surgery after dealing with an injury over the past several months.
Taking to social media, Niven shared that she had an anterior discectomy procedure, which is commonly performed to relieve issues such as pinched nerves, herniated discs, and spinal cord compression in the neck.
In her message, Niven reflected on the difficult experience and thanked those who supported her throughout the process.
“I have so much I want to say about the past 8 months but we can get to that later.
“For now, I just want to express my endless love and gratitude for every single soul that has helped me and cared for me during this difficult and really scary time.
“Pain and heartbreak are incredible teachers and the lessons I have learned from this will stay with me forever. I am so grateful to wake up from surgery already feeling better and I know I am coming out the other side of this so much stronger for the experience.
“Lots of love”
Niven has been absent from WWE television for some time, with her last match taking place on the August 22 edition of WWE SmackDown. On that show, she picked up a notable victory over Charlotte Flair before stepping away from in-ring competition.
Reports have indicated that Niven had been working through a neck-related issue during her hiatus, and her latest update now confirms the severity of the injury.
There is currently no official timetable for her return to WWE programming, but the early signs following surgery appear positive. Fans and fellow wrestlers have already flooded social media with supportive messages as Niven begins her recovery process.
