TNA star Ash By Elegance is shedding new light on the real-life health scare that temporarily forced her out of the ring—and it sounds far more serious than fans initially realized.
Speaking on the Generation of Wrestling Podcast, Ash revealed that the issue behind her brief retirement wasn’t a typical wrestling injury, but an ongoing and complicated medical condition that even doctors have struggled to fully diagnose.
According to Ash, the situation is still developing.
She explained that while she may appear fine on the outside, the reality has been much more unpredictable. Some days she feels completely normal, while others are far more difficult, adding to the frustration of not having clear answers. In fact, she described her condition as something of a “medical mystery,” noting that she’s undergone extensive testing without a definitive diagnosis just yet.
What makes the story even more intense is that Ash disclosed she spent multiple days in the ICU—something she had not previously made public. Despite the severity of the situation, she’s chosen to hold off on revealing the exact diagnosis until doctors can fully confirm what she’s dealing with.
The ordeal had a major impact on her career and mindset. At one point, doctors told her she could no longer wrestle, which led to a deeply emotional period where she questioned her future. Wrestling and fitness have long been central to her life, and being told to step away left her feeling lost and unmotivated.
Fortunately, things began to shift in a more positive direction. Over time, doctors started to give her encouraging updates, eventually clearing her to return to in-ring competition. While she admits her body can still feel “off” at times, she’s now back in action and continuing to push forward.
Ash also mentioned she has additional tests scheduled just days before TNA Rebellion, which she hopes will finally provide a clear and definitive diagnosis.
For context, Ash’s absence from the ring dates back to late 2025. She vacated the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Victory Road after just 34 days as champion due to what was then an undisclosed issue. Shortly after, she announced her retirement and transitioned into a producer role while also appearing on-screen with the Elegance Brand.
That hiatus didn’t last long, however. On the January 22, 2026 episode of IMPACT, Ash confirmed she had been medically cleared to compete again—marking a comeback that now carries much more weight given what she’s gone through behind the scenes.
While there are still unanswered questions about her condition, one thing is clear: Ash By Elegance has been fighting a battle far bigger than anything inside the ring—and she’s not done yet.
