Tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live will take place from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with more hype for the Backlash pay-per-view.

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman was arrested at the airport in Los Angeles over the weekend. Shortly after midnight on Saturday Waltman was arrested on a felony charge and later released on Sunday after posting a $35,000 bail.
Waltman noted on Twitter that the arrest was not drug related but TMZ reports that Waltman was arrested after cops said he tried to bring marijuana and meth through customs. Waltman was headed to the UK for an indie event.
Waltman was stopped at customs when the drugs were discovered and airport police were called to the scene. Waltman was arrested on the spot and taken to a nearby jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. During that process, police discovered Waltman had an outstanding warrant from a prior DUI arrest.
Waltman’s rep told TMZ that the former DX member was “fine” but they didn’t offer any further details.

Smashing Pumpkins frontman and former TNA Wrestling President Billy Corgan has agreed to purchase the historic National Wrestling Alliance. Corgan has a deal that would see him purchase the NWA name, rights, trademarks as well as rights and possession of the legendary NWA title belt.
No word yet on when Corgan will begin running the company or what he has in store for the various NWA member promotions, or the NWA On Demand streaming service.
NWA President Bruce Tharpe took to his Facebook page and wrote the following on the future of the organization:
I am very excited for the future of the NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE.As everyone knows by now – Billy Corgan and I have agreed on principle regarding his acquisition of the NWA brand. This decision comes after many weeks of negotiation and deep consideration.
Although Billy Corgan may be a fresh face to wrestling – he is an extremely successful businessman and has a deep admiration and respect for the NWA. He is also putting together a very strong team.
With the capital and business acumen that Billy Corgan brings to the table – I am confident that he has the ability to take the NWA to the next level. And I have promised to do all I can to help him succeed. I ask you to join me in supporting the new NWA regime in the future.
I am not leaving wrestling – but after four years at the helm of the NWA – I look forward to stepping back and allowing someone new and passionate to take control of this great and noble organization.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the NWA over the years and during my tenure. I also want to publicly thank Billy Corgan for his confidence and respect for this iconic brand.
The next few months are going to be really exciting for the National Wrestling Alliance – but most of all for the fans!

As seen at WWE Payback last night, Chris Jericho defeated Kevin Owens to win the U.S. Championship. Per the match stipulation, Jericho will join Owens on SmackDown Live starting on Tuesday.
It should be noted that Jericho will start touring with Fozzy this Friday in Virginia Beach. He will be touring with the group throughout the month, and has concerts scheduled for every Tuesday in May starting next week through May 30th, so at most he will be appearing on SmackDown twice this month.
As noted, the first single of Fozzy’s new album, Judas, debuted last night on The Radio 1 Rock Show on BBC Radio 1, which you can listen to at this link at the 1:58:20 mark. The song will be available on Tuesday at 10am on Loudwire.com.

NJPW posted its first promo for the upcoming G1 Special in Long Beach, California on July 1 and 2. The promo uses phrases like “A new age is rising” and “Powerful warriors like no other” who “Have their sights on conquering the U.S.” The video features Okada, Tanahashi, Naito, and Omega.

WWE posted this video of RAW Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy receiving medical attention for the broken tooth he suffered during last night’s Payback pay-per-view from San Jose.
– Hardy’s broken tooth came during The Hardy Boyz retaining over Sheamus and Cesaro. The post-match angle saw Sheamus and Cesaro turn heel and attack the RAW Tag Team Champions. Matt Hardy took to Twitter after the show and issued a “Broken” warning to Sheamus and Cesaro:
