TNA Recap: August 1 2013

The show began with security not allowing Taz into the arena by order of Hulk Hogan. Taz was ticked off.

The latest August 1st warning video was showed. The mystery man August 1st is here, you have all guessed on who I am, you all know who I am. He said I’m the one who shall inflict pain. He said you won’t know when, you won’t know how but my arrival tonight will shock you. He said you have been warned, stay tuned because I’m here.

Austin Aries came to the ring & congratulated Chris Sabin for knocking off Bully Ray to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Aries said the congratulation comes with a warning. Aries said that he is going to win the BFGS & become the next World Heavyweight Champion. Aries talked about his match tonight against AJ Styles. Aries said that it’s a match that everybody has been dreaming about. Aries said it’s AJ Styles the man who put TNA on his back for a decade vs Austin Aries the man who will put TNA on his back for the next decade. Aries said if anyone has any doubts he will erase them tonight. Bobby Roode came out to the ring & said to Aries you want to talk about dream matches lets stop talking about dreams & start talking about nightmares. Roode said lets talk about the nightmare that he has been living since last Destination X when Aries beat him for the World Heavyweight Championship. Roode said he has had a crap year & that everybody including himself has forgotten what he is capable of in this ring. Roode mentioned that he was the longest reigning & most dominate World Heavyweight Champion in the history of Impact Wrestling. Roode said he is the it factor of professional wrestling & starting tonight the game is going to change & he is going to go back & do the things that made him a World heavyweight Champion the first time. Roode said he only cares about one thing & that’s getting back the World Heavyweight Championship. Roode said” it pays to be Roode.” Aries told Roode that he hopes he gets his mojo back & makes it to the BFGS finals so he can beat him again. Aries wished Roode good luck.

BFGS Match: Bobby Roode vs Hernandez: Roode got frustrated during the match & tossed some chairs into the ring & while the ref was getting rid of the chairs Roode got a bottle from under the ring & hit Hernandez over the head with it & Roode got the win to pick up 7 points.

Main Event Mafia backstage, Sting was asked if they have any connections with the August 1st warning. Sting said we will find out soon enough. Kurt Angle was asked what the plans are for Aces & Eights tonight. Angle said we are going to make them an offer that they can’t refuse.

Eric Young & ODB backstage, ODB talked about how she is ready to get back in the ring tonight & is going to beat Gail Kim. EY said he can’t be there but will be there in spirit because he has a full plate tonight. EY opens up a door & Joseph Park is bent over doing stretches. ODB leaves & EY told Park that he has been doing some experiments & he even shot off a rocket. EY said you bleed & then you lose control & lose matches. Park said it’s been a real problem & that he has -10 points in the BFGS. EY said he has the answer & gave Park a bag & told park that he is going to wear this tonight.

Backstage Chris Sabin congratulated Manik on becoming the X-Division Champion. Manik said 15 years as TJ Perkins he accomplished nothing but this(holding his mask) has been a rebirth for him & has given him a identity & it has brought him the X-Division Championship. Sabin said that is why he respects him & said we come from similar places & that they aren’t the biggest & strongest but they have the most heart & that’s why he wanted his first match to be with him. Sabin told Manik to bring hi best because he is bringing his.

A huge white hummer limo pulled up outside the arena. The think it is probably the person behind the August 1st warning videos.

BFGS Match: Jay Bradley vs Joseph Park: Eric Young came to the ring with Park. EY pulled out some headgear out of the bag for Park to wear. Park got the win & picked up 7points to bring his total to -3.

Main Event Mafia backstage, Angle asked if any of them has any knowledge of any additional information about the August 1st warning. They said no. Sting said we put this group together for 2 reasons & one we have already done because Bully Ray is no longer Champion. Sting got excited. Sting said we are half way home & that there might be a sacrifice that need to happen which means they are all going to have to take a risk. Sting said him & Kurt need to know if everyone is ready to take the risk. They all said that they are in. Angle said now we are going to make Aces & Eights an offer that they can’t refuse. Rampage Jackson said no matter what they say he is here to fight. Sting said that’s why we like you.

Manik vs Chris Sabin: Sabin got the win. After the match Bully Ray attacked Sabin. Manik tried to help Sabin which allowed Sabin to recover & Sabin fought back & Sabin knocked Bully to the mat & Bully rolled out of the ring & retreated.

Camera showed the limo outside & Taz appeared & he is still mad & said he is going to expose August 1 to the world. Taz opened the door to the limo & laughed & said are you kidding me is this what everyone is talking about leys show the world what I see. Inside the limo was a laptop computer playing the August 1st warning video.

Backstage Daniels & Kazarian talked about their BFGS match against each other next week. They start to argue & Daniels told Kazarian that he hopes he doesn’t expect for him to just give him the points. Kazarian said you’re not given him anything & that he is going to take the points & said Daniels better be at his best & then Kazarian poured out Daniels martini.

Gail Kim vs ODB: The match ended with a double count out. After the match they continued to fight outside the ring.

AJ Styles backstage, AJ said for the past week all he has heard about was this dream match between him & Austin Aries. AJ said it’s a bunch of B.S. & when he wrestled Jeff Hardy it was B.S. as far as dream matches go. AJ said he is not that wide eyed kid that he used to be, he is that hungry, greedy, powered man that he has become. AJ said you what they say if you can’t beat them join them. AJ said the BFGS is about the Title & the money that goes with it. AJ said there is no place for dreams just like heroes. AJ said tonight he will be Austin Aries’ nightmare.

Aces & Eights backstage, Bully Ray talked about the Main Event Mafia going to make them an offer that they can’t refuse. Bully said that they have seen The Godfather one to many times. Bully said he isn’t going to obsess about it but what he is obsessing about is Chris Sabin & Hardcore Justice & getting back his Title. Bully old Anderson that he is in charge of taking care of the Main Event Mafia & for him to get the job done. Bully left & he ran into Brooke Hogan. Brooke said she was looking for him. Bully reminded her that he wont give her a divorce. Brooke said that he might want to rethink that because she heard something about the contract he is suppose to sign next week that might not be in his favor. She said you might not want to be on her bad list. She said do you know that saying happy wife happy life, well in this case it will be happy ex-wife happy life. Brooke blew Bully a kiss & walked off.

BFGS Match: Austin Aries vs AJ Styles: AJ hit Aries with a Pele out of nowhere & Aries fell next to AJ with his arm draped across AJ. Both men’ shoulder’s was down & Aries raised his shoulder up before the 3 count. Aries got the win to pick up 7 points.

Main Event Mafia cam to the ring. Sting mentioned that they put the Main Event Mafia back together for 2 reasons to get rid of Bull Ray as World Heavyweight Champion which they was successful at & to get rid of Aces & Eights. Sting said they didn’t get the fight they wanted last time but one way or another they will get the fight that they want & are going to start by giving Aces & Eights an offer they can’t refuse.. Aces & Eights came out lead by their VP Mr. Anderson. Anderson said you didn’t get the fight you wanted because Angle ended up in the back of a pickup truck. Anderson said you guys cheat which is the only reason Chris Sabin is the new World Heavyweight Champion. Anderson said you guys want to fight dirty we can do dirty we aren’t backing down. Angle said there is going to be some serious consequences. Angle proposed a 5 on 5 match for Hardcore Justice on August 15th. Angle said whoever gets pinned will have to leave TNA for good. Samoa Joe said this isn’t a negotiation & a brawl broke out. Main Event Mafia cleared Aces & Eights from the ring. Anderson accepted the match. The light went out & the man behind the August 1st warning video came down the ramp it was former MMA champion Tito Ortiz. Ortiz stood with his arms cross staring to the ring. Main Event Mafia & Aces & Eights looked shocked.
