The New Day Turn Heel On Big E In Bittersweet 10-Year Anniversary Segment On WWE Raw

The New Day, one of WWE’s most celebrated factions, reached a bittersweet milestone during their tenth-anniversary celebration on this week’s episode of WWE Raw. What could have been a triumphant moment for the trio of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and the returning Big E instead turned into a shocking display of turmoil, signaling a dramatic shift for the iconic group.

Big E Returns, But Unity Shatters

The segment began with General Manager Adam Pearce inviting Woods and Kingston to the ring, where the duo addressed their recent struggles. Tensions between them had been brewing for weeks, culminating in a heated argument just days earlier. Both men expressed gratitude to the fans for supporting their decade-long journey but hinted that trouble was brewing, assuring the audience, “It’s not your fault.”

Before they could elaborate, Big E’s entrance music hit, drawing an eruption of cheers from the crowd. Big E, who had been sidelined with a career-threatening neck injury since 2022, made an emotional return. However, the excitement quickly gave way to tension as Big E voiced his concerns about the ongoing discord between his longtime teammates.

Big E shared heartfelt words about how Woods and Kingston stood by him through his darkest days, vowing to return the favor by becoming their manager until he was medically cleared to compete. It was a selfless offer—but one that wasn’t met with the gratitude he might have expected.

Woods and Kingston Lash Out

To the audience’s shock, both Woods and Kingston rejected Big E’s proposal. Woods, visibly upset, accused Big E of only stepping in after weeks of infighting, suggesting that his return felt too little, too late. Kingston’s response cut even deeper. In a bitter tirade, Kingston dismissed Big E’s injury struggles, pointing out how legends like Kurt Angle managed to return to the ring after similar setbacks.

The two berated their former ally, questioning his commitment to the group and casting doubt on his future in the ring. Woods delivered the harshest blow, claiming Big E would never be medically cleared and telling him to walk away for good.

A Fractured Family

Despite Big E’s attempt to mend fences with a final offer of a group hug, Woods and Kingston stood firm. The once inseparable trio seemed irreparably broken as Woods and Kingston clasped hands in the ring, declaring themselves a two-man unit. Big E, left standing alone, watched on in a poignant moment that marked the end of an era.

What’s Next for The New Day?

The New Day’s decade-long legacy is one of camaraderie, innovation, and record-breaking success. But with this unexpected turn of events, fans are left wondering if this marks the permanent dissolution of the group or the beginning of a heated rivalry among its former brothers.

With Big E’s return to Raw and his promise to be present every week, the story is far from over. Whether reconciliation or further betrayal is on the horizon, The New Day’s 10th-anniversary celebration will undoubtedly be remembered as a pivotal chapter in their storied WWE history.

Stay tuned to see how this emotional saga unfolds—and whether Big E can find his way back into the hearts of his former brothers in the weeks to come.

Xavier Woods Shares Footage Of The Moment He Suffered Achilles Injury

Xavier Woods has shared footage of the moment he sustained an injury during a recent live event.

Woods uploaded a video to Instagram titled “The many phases of the #OffSeason” which shows him lying on a couch while clutching his bandaged lower leg. The clip includes footage from the match that took place during WWE’s tour of Australia and is set to “Behind These Hazel Eyes” by Kelly Clarkson.

The injury occurred while Woods and Dash Wilder were engaging in a back-and-forth encounter. Xavier can be seen in the footage landing awkwardly on his feet during a spot. He then attempts to run the ropes, but falls down clutching his leg.

As we previously reported, The New Day member underwent surgery last week. Woods could be out for 6 months to a year.

Xavier Woods Reportedly Out Of Action For 6 months to 1 year After Undergoing Surgery

WWE SmackDown Superstar Xavier Woods reportedly underwent surgery to repair an Achilles tear earlier today, according to PWInsider.

There’s no official word yet on the timetable for Woods’ return, but PWInsider reports that it’s believed he will be out of action for 6 months to 1 year.

As noted, Woods suffered the Achilles injury at last Sunday’s WWE live event in Sydney, Australia. WWE confirmed the injury and pulled him from the rest of the tour, and word from within WWE was that the injury was really bad.

Woods suffered the injury, while teaming with Big E against SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival, after being Irish-whipped into the ropes. Fans in attendance noted that Woods came back off the ropes and just collapsed, clutching his ankle. Big E finished the match by himself as Woods was taken to the back.

Stay tuned for updates on Woods’ recovery and WWE status. For those who missed it, below is his tweet from earlier this week:

Xavier Woods Injury Believed To Be Serious

As noted, Xavier Woods suffered an Achilles tendon injury at Monday’s WWE live event in Sydney, Australia. WWE confirmed the injury and noted that Woods was pulled from the rest of the tour.

In an update, it sounds like things aren’t looking good for Woods. F4Wonline.com reports that word going around WWE is that the injury is bad.

WWE noted on their website that Woods suffered an Achilles injury, without saying it was a tear, but word going around is that Woods did suffer an Achilles tear.

There’s no word yet on a timetable for Woods but it usually takes a very long time to recover from an Achilles injury after surgery. Woods will likely be re-evaluated by WWE doctors after returning to the United States this week, and they usually try to get Achilles tendon operations done as soon as possible. Riddick Moss recently returned from an Achilles tear after being out for 5 months. It was originally believed he would be out for 8 months, and a typical recovery time is around 6 months.

Kevin Owens Turns On The New Day

Kevin Owens’ gig as an honorary member of The New Day lasted just one week as he turned on WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods after tonight’s SmackDown main event, which saw Kofi defeat Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification due to interference from Rusev.

Owens helped The New Day fight off Nakamura and Rusev, but then turned on Kofi and ended up destroying both members of the group. There’s now speculation on Kofi defending his title against Owens at the WWE Money In the Bank pay-per-view. You can see a few shots from tonight’s angle below:

WWE.com posted the following:

Xavier Woods and independent wrestling star Kenny Omega have been engaging in a heated war of words on social media over who’s better at Street Fighter. The two rivals will converge at the Capcom booth during the E3 video game conference next Thursday to settle the score in a battle for supremacy.

The two have engaged in arcade fighting showdowns in the past, but the heat turned up once again on their rivalry when “The Cleaner” posted a video to Twitter, showing off his Street Fighter skills while calling out The New Day’s resident trombonist.

Woods didn’t take Omega’s insults lightly, firing right back at his rival.

Though Woods had to put the war of words on the backburner Tuesday night – The New Day were victorious in a Six-Man Tag Team Match on SmackDown LIVE – the fine people at Capcom, the makers of Street Fighter, interjected that they would be more than happy to facilitate a battle between the two. Both Woods and Omega took part in a verbal contract signing on the Street Fighter Twitter, in which neither man pulled any punches:

After some choice words from “The Cleaner,” the ground rules have been laid down for this struggle for supremacy, and Woods and Omega won’t be alone in this battle. Each man will select two partners, making this a 3-on-3 showdown in Street Fighter V. Woods is extremely confident in his partners, who have yet to be revealed, while claiming that Omega won’t be able to find anybody to meet the challenge.

Who will Woods and Omega choose as their partners? Keep your eyes on social media to find out, then tune in to CapcomFighters next Thursday to see who will emerge as the elite Street Fighter player!

Xavier Woods Possibly Injured At SmackDown Live Event Last Night

Xavier Woods may have suffered a knee injury as The New Day were facing Breezango and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos at last night’s WWE live event in Texarkana, Arkansas.

According to Wrestling Inc. correspondent Stephen A. Love ( @BigStevieCool95 ), who was in attendance, the injury came when Woods went for a jumping DDT and apparently pushed off the wrong way. The knee buckled and Woods went down. The referee threw up the dreaded “X” symbol to call the match and one of the Uso brothers then rolled Kofi Kingston up for a quick finish.

Woods seemed to be in pain after the rushed finish and was not able to leave on his own. He was helped to the back by Kofi, Big E and WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann. One correspondent noted that Woods “wrecked” his knee.
