Mark Henry’s Son – ‘I Have Officially Signed A Deal With WWE’

Mark Henry’s son Jacob has signed with WWE.

Taking to Twitter, Jacob Henry posted a video where he announced during his dad’s set at the Remix Rumble in Cleveland, OH that he’s signed with the company.

Jacob noted that more news will be “coming out in a couple of days,” but he wanted the people present to know first that he’s a future WWE Superstar and that it’s been “put on paper … I have officially signed a deal with WWE.”

Back in July, Mark Henry said the following regarding his son:

“I don’t think he wants to follow me. He wants to be more like MJF. He wants to be more Miz, he wants to be more like The Rock.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin Teases Appearance At Major WWE Event In 2025

WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin thought that his wrestling career was over in 2003 after a series of injuries forced him into an early retirement, but he has made a number of sporadic appearances over the years, including WrestleMania 38 where Austin had his first match in 19 years against Kevin Owens. However, The Texas Rattlesnake has since retreated to his new home in Nevada, where he is very happy to sit back and relax.

During a recent interview with The Athletic to talk about ATV racing, Austin makes it clear he’s more than happy to stay away from the spotlight: “I’ve told those stories so many (expletive) times, dude,” Austin said That part of my life is long gone…I’m good here in Nevada. I will not be anywhere I don’t want to be. I just won’t.” Having said that, Austin did offer a glimmer of hope by clarifying a bit. “I said I won’t leave Nevada. It’s hard to get me out of this state. But…WrestleMania next year is in Vegas. That’s in Nevada.”

WrestleMania 41 is set to take place over Easter weekend in 2025, and it will be held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. While Austin appearing might be one thing, him wrestling on the show would be something different entirely, but given how much CM Punk has wanted to face him over the years, and Hell’s recent penchant for freezing over, fans may be in for a surprise next year.

WWE Champ Cody Rhodes Receives Father Dusty’s Robe In Emotional Moment At Tokyo Event

WWE are currently in Japan treating their fans to two nights of live wrestling at the legendary Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo for the company’s first tour of the country in five years. The live events have already presented a whole host of memorable moments, including Meiko Satomura announcing her intentions to beat Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship after news of her pending retirement hit the headlines, and one wholesome moment saw Cody Rhodes presented with a very special gift. After successfully defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles in the main event of the first night of action, Rhodes was presented with a special robe and hat worn by his father, the late Dusty Rhodes.

Rhodes would put on the jacket and hat before strutting around the ring in the same way his father did in his prime. He would then do the traditional bow as a sign of respect to the Japanese culture and bid farewell to the Tokyo crowd, thanking them for being so welcoming.

Despite being widely known as “The American Dream” during his career, Dusty was highly respected in Japan as he performed in the country a number of times, with the first notable tour he went on taking place in 1975 with AJPW when the company was affiliated with the NWA. Rhodes would later go on to tour with NJPW during the 1980s, even competing in the MSG Series tournament, the competition that acted as the spiritual predecessor to the G1 Climax. “The American Dream’s” final appearances in Japan took place in 2004, when he was part of a ZERO-ONE event, as well the first three HUSTLE pay-per-views, where he also got to team with his friend Steve Corino, and son Dustin Rhodes, who went by the name Dusty Rhodes Jr. in HUSTLE.

WWE In Talks To Bring First International WrestleMania To Major European Capital

In 2025, the city of Las Vegas will have the honor of hosting WWE’s biggest premium live event of the year – WrestleMania – for the second time in company history. Beyond that, though, WWE may be looking to expand WrestleMania across the pond, particularly to the country of England.

As revealed in a press release issued by the London Government, the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, met with WWE President Nick Khan and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque on Thursday with the intent of discussing the possibility of bringing a future WrestleMania event to England’s capital city of London. For Sadiq Khan, this marked an opportunity to make progress in his mission to platform more North American and international sports in London.

“London has great pedigree in hosting the biggest international sporting events from around the globe – and I’m determined to cement our city’s reputation as the undisputed sports capital of the world, as we work together for a better London for everyone,” said Sadiq. “It’s exciting to be working with the WWE team. The meeting was really productive, and talks will continue about how we could turn our ambition into a reality.”

As pointed out by Levesque, WWE and London have a “long and successful history” that dates back several decades, including 1992’s SummerSlam PLE, which emanated from the world-famous Wembley Stadium. As of 2024, though, WWE has yet to take its grandest stage outside of North America — something that 16-time world champion John Cena previously campaigned to change by specifically bringing it to the prosperous city of London.

Coming out of WWE’s meeting with Sadiq, Nick Khan indicated that further talks were needed, but so far, they appear to be promising. “Sadiq Khan and his team are working hard on positioning London as a sport and entertainment capital of Europe, and it has been great to hear more on his vision for how WWE can support them on that journey,” Nick Khan said.

Details On WWE Status Of Bobby Lashley, MVP

Word emerged over the weekend that Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract is expiring in the near future, with the veteran wrestler said to have been removed from the company’s internal roster. PWInsider has some additional information on Lashley’s status, as well as that of his former manager MVP. WWE reportedly offered Lashley a new contract, but the 48-year-old wasn’t overly excited by the details and is expected to depart.

As for MVP, his current deal is said to end in mid-August, with no “major discussions” about bringing him back thus far. There had previously been talks about using MVP as an announcer or producer, but neither of those plans materialized.

It’s believed that both Lashley and MVP will generate interest from outside companies following their departure. The two were previously key members of The Hurt Business, a popular WWE faction that many fans felt was broken up prematurely, and the group could see a return outside of the promotion.

Though the Hurt Business name is trademarked by WWE, there would be nothing stopping a company like AEW from utilizing the group under a different moniker. The Hurt Business also included Shelton Benjamin, who was released from his WWE contract last year, as well as Cedric Alexander, who is still with the company.

PWInsider’s story does contradict the initial Fightful report in one way, stating that Lashley is still listed on the internal “WWE SmackDown” roster. However, Lashley hasn’t wrestled on television since April and hasn’t accompanied the Street Profits during their “SmackDown” appearances. Lashley and the Street Profits had previously been working together as a trio, known as The Pride, first formed in 2023.
