WWE NXT Star Fallon Henley Reportedly Injured During Recent Taping

After taking a few weeks off in July, Fallon Henley reemerged with some new friends at NXT Great American Bash, teaming with Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx to defeat Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice, and Sol Ruca. This week, the group finally gave themselves a name, Fatal Influence, setting their sights on “NXT” newcomers who the trio felt were taking spots from wrestlers, such as themselves, with pedigree.

The re-introduction led to Henley and Jayne setting up a match for next week’s “NXT” against Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend, one that was taped immediately following last night’s episode and one that didn’t go the best for Henley. Fightful Select reports that during the match, Henley suffered an injury when she sustained what has been described as a “possible broken nose.” It’s unclear when in the match Henley suffered the injury, though it was noted she continued on and finished the match.

Whether Henley will have to miss any time remains a mystery, as the severity of her facial injury remains unknown. Should it be serious, it would be Henley’s first instance of being on the shelf since joining WWE in 2021, as she has consistently worked at least one match per month, and has avoided any serious injury. Henley had shown similar durability before joining WWE, with her only hiatus from wrestling occurring during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Aside from the Fatal Influnece’s introduction last night, “NXT” also made clear the future direction for NXT Champion Ethan Page. The former AEW star will be defending the championship against TNA’s highly popular Joe Hendry at the upcoming No Mercy PLE on September 1.

WWE And AEW To Run Orlando Shows Directly Opposite Each Other In December

WWE has announced a new live event in Orlando for December 28, the same day as AEW Worlds End 2024. Tony Khan’s promotion will be running its final pay-per-view event of the year from the Addition Financial Arena on December 28, meanwhile, WWE has announced a “WWE Live Holiday Tour” show on the same date just 15 miles away at the Kia Center.

This isn’t the first nor most significant instance of WWE and AEW booking shows on the same date as one another, with “AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday” running head-to-head with “WWE NXT” on October 8. And fans will remember that “NXT” used to go head-to-head with “Dynamite” on Wednesdays every week from October 2019 until April 2021, in what came to be known as the “Wednesday Night War” in reference to WWE’s former rivalry with WCW. But it is a rare instance for the promotions to run the same city and date. Later this month, both companies will be running major events from Europe. AEW will present the second iteration of what’s seemingly becoming its WrestleMania, All In, from Wembley Stadium in London, England on August 25. Then, on August 31 WWE will present Bash In Berlin from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, its first Premium Live Event in the country.

Report – AEW May Extend Contract Of Star With WWE interest

Previous reports suggest The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) are expected to leave AEW for WWE when their contracts expire.

Penta’s AEW contract expires between August and September, while Fenix’s contract expires later this year.

Fightful previously reported that the Lucha Brothers may be interested in joining WWE as a tag team despite being offered a new deal by AEW. The terms AEW offers are similar to what Penta has conveyed that WWE is willing to provide.

According to sources within AEW, there were concerns that the Lucha Brothers did not adhere to proper business practices, which resulted in their departure from the company. Penta’s rejection of the reports is believed to have been a strategic move to facilitate Fenix’s departure from AEW without contractual impediments.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter shared an update on the concern within AEW regarding their right to extend Fenix’s contract for an additional year due to his time off for injuries.

There was speculation about Penta heading to Orlando, FL, leading fans to speculate that he might be heading to the WWE Performance Center despite still being contracted to AEW.

Becky Lynch Comments On Life After WWE, Says She Has “Many Options On The Table”

Former WWE star Becky Lynch has discussed what she has been up to and her mindset following her WWE exit.

Lynch’s contract with WWE expired on June 1 and she seems to be stepping away from the ring for a bit, which was hinted at in a recent post she made on social media. “The Man” recently spoke to former NFL star Julian Edelman on his “Games With Names” podcast, where she talked about life after WWE.

“It’s great,” said Lynch when she was asked about how life is right now. “Everything’s great. I got my wonderful little family, I have many options on the table and I get to, for the first time in a long time, take a bit of a breath to appreciate everything.

She explained that stepping away from WWE has given her time to reflect on her career and smell the roses, as well as look back on everything she has achieved.

“When you’re on the road 52 weeks a year, non-stop, going from town to town, and then in the last three years, I added to the chaos by having a daughter, who I would bring everywhere with me, and then on top of that I decided it would be good to write my biography. So, it was really — for the last year, two years, pure chaos. Now I’m taking a little bit more time, I’m taking a breath to look around the world, getting to look at what I created and evaluate everything. It’s been wonderful,” said the former WWE star.

While Lynch didn’t hint at when she may return to the ring, she hasn’t called time on her career yet, with her post following her last match in WWE highlighting that her wrestling journey will continue. Reports have also suggested that Lynch hasn’t informed anyone in WWE about hanging up her wrestling boots yet.

Ronda Rousey – ‘I Wish I Wrestled In The Triple H Era Of WWE And Not Vince McMahon’

Ronda Rousey would have loved to wrestle under the new Triple H era of WWE.

While speaking with Denise Salcedo of “Instinct Culture,” Rousey looked back at her WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34. She said,

“It was an incredible introduction. Part of me wishes the time that I wrestled would have been in the Triple H era and not the Vince (McMahon) era because he [HHH] was the one that believed in me from the very beginning.”

She continued, “I’ve been hearing incredible things about how he’s running stuff now. It was such an experience.”

Rousey was last seen at WWE SummerSlam 2023.
