Kairi Sane Returns At WWE Crown Jewel, Helps IYO SKY Retain WWE Women’s Championship

Kairi Sane made her long-awaited return to WWE at Crown Jewel 2023. The “Pirate Princess” surprisingly appeared to aid Iyo Sky in retaining her WWE Women’s Championship over Bianca Belair.

Sane addressed fans of STARDOM in October to announce that it could be the last time they would see her perform in the company, leading many to believe she was departing the promotion. Since then, multiple reports emerged to say that she was headed back to WWE, and it was recently indicated that she was listed on the internal roster and her return was imminent. Speculation turned to actualization during today’s event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Sane made a surprise appearance to help Sky.

Delivering her patented flying elbow drop, it was the first time Sane had been seen in a WWE ring since she faced Bayley in July 2020, serving to add another crinkle to Damage CTRL’s storyline of tension between the “Genius of the Sky” and the “Role-Model”. Sky and Sane previously held trios gold when they wrestled together in STARDOM in 2016, but are set to stand shoulder-to-shoulder for the first time in WWE. Similar to Sky, Sane boasted reigns with both the WWE Women’s Tag and “NXT” Women’s Championships before her departure in December 2021.

WWE Star Becky Lynch To Compete On Celebrity Jeopardy

Becky Lynch has been having some trouble around WWE as of late. Just last week, she lost the “NXT” Women’s Championship to Lyra Vaklyria at Halloween Havoc and has since found herself embroiled in an issue with Xia Li. But perhaps behind the “Jeopardy” podium, her fortune will turn around as she faces some very fresh competition.

Lynch will be involved with the latest “Celebrity Jeopardy” tournament, per Headline Planet, with her first appearance on the legendary trivia game show set for Wednesday, November 15. She has drawn “Home Alone” star and long-time wrestling fan Macaulay Culkin as well as comedian Rachel Dratch as her fellow contestants — with 27 celebrities in total making up this year’s field. The winner of this quarterfinal showdown will move on to the tourney semi-finals.

This may be Lynch’s first time participating on “Celebrity Jeopardy,” but she is no stranger to game shows in her lifetime. She had previously appeared in the short-lived sports-based game show “Game On” in 2020, battling Joel McHale of “Community” fame in one of its episodes. She was also a part of a special WWE episode of “Celebrity Family Feud” earlier this year, where she, Bayley, Natalya, Liv Morgan, and Alexa Bliss battled Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins, The New Day, and former WWE star Dolph Ziggler.

The former WWE Women’s Champion’s appearance on “Celebrity Jeopardy” continues the trend of WWE stars frequenting the game show circuit, following The Miz and Brie Bella’s on “The Wheel” last December and Xavier Woods on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.”

Creed Brothers (With Ivy Nile) Defeat Alpha Academy In WWE Main Roster Debut On Raw

After accepting Alpha Academy’s open challenge via social media earlier in the day, The Creed Brothers arrived on “WWE Raw” and made the most of the opportunity, earning the victory after a Brutus Ball on Otis.

Accompanied by Ivy Nile, Brutus and Julius Creed made their way to the ring for this two-on-two showdown of bona fide amateur wrestling backgrounds. Julius kicked things off against Chad Gable, quickly showing the Greenville crowd his the trademark strength that he and his brother possess, starting from his knees to lift Gable into a vertical suplex before handing him off to Brutus to complete the move. Otis eventually scored a near fall following The Caterpillar, but Julius kicked out and turned the tides with a jumping knee.

Attempting to give the edge to Alpha Academy, Maxxine Dupri tried to distract the referee but Nile stormed around the ring and pulled her off the apron before attempting a distraction of her own, but Dupri returned the favor. Academy “junior cadet” Akira Tozawa tried to play intermediary but ate a suplex from Nile for his efforts.

Ultimately, the newcomers would get the glory, with Julius somehow hoisting the monstrous Otis into an electric chair position, setting up Brutus to hit The Brutus Ball and secure the 1-2-3 in their main roster debut.
